Fingernails

My son gave me an interesting question. What material is fingernails? He thought plastic. I was gonna say it's kinda like cartlidge, but not really, but he has no idea what cartlidge is. What would you tell a 6 yo fingernails are made of? Or a 32 yo for that matter.

fingernails are made of protein, keratin and sulfur....

I'd tell him it's natures lie detectors....and that you can tell what he's been into just by look'in at 'em!

LOL, Goofy. I tell him that's what his eyes are for. His eyes are like mine, it's hard to hide things if you look at them close enough.

Shep, I tried that, but he argued with me. He kept insisting they were plastic.

LOL! Jason, he's a little boy. If I tell him they're puppy dogs tails, he'll try to use the fingernail clippers on all the neighborhood puppies that come into our yard.
