Be sure to read all the way through the thread to determine if there is one, and, if so, if it's still active.

It's a little late to get one started, but certainly do-able.

Well, whether a thread is active or not depends on the people who post on it. If you have a lot (or not many) people who only post once (I'm on this cruise, want to do FEs. Or the like), it's not going to be active.

If you have a small group (or large) who come to the thread and talk up the cruise (what plans for pre/post cruise, any excursions you're interested in; this our 1st, 2nd, 14th cruise, and we're so excited) that sort of thing, the thread will be active.

That was the original intent of Cruise Meet threads - to get people on the same cruise together to talk up how much fun it's going to be. Along the way, some groups found that organizing various events for their cruise meet group was pretty fun. Now searching for a Fish Extender group has taken over the thread, for the most part. Sad.
