Hey guys. I'm in a little bit of a predicament. I just got my loan for the Fall 08 semester, but since I'm doing the CP, would I have to start paying it back in January? I've never had a loan before so I'm completely new to this. I have an appointment with my financial aid person but that's not until Wednesday so maybe I could get some quick answers here. I took the subsidized loan if that matters. My mom was saying that you need to be a FT student (12 credits) in order to not start paying the loan back and I'll be taking zero credits next semester so I don't know what to do!

Thanks a bunch!

Well that is talking to your school and finding out how they work with the CP and whether you get credits for internships etc with your major or school in the university. My guess is no you do not have to pay it back, and you get the whole 6 months from when you graduate or leave the school, and you are going to be enrolled in the school just in disney instead. hmmm

Yeah I already talked to them about the CP and everything but I completely forgot about my loan. I'm hoping I don't have to since the CP is school-related and when people study abroad it's kinda the same thing. It's worrying me though. Ack.

I believe with most loans they give you 6 months until you're out of school or graduated to start paying back the loans. I would definitely talk to your financial aid office at school about ti though.

yea, the stafford loans have a 6 month window before you have to start paying them back. so if you are only on the CP for 5 months, you're fine. also, you can take classes through your school online maybe? and disney will let you take 6 hours. so i bet you could easily get 12.

alot of majors have field studies or "mini-internships" where you have to go get real live experience that you get credit for.

With most student loans, you must be enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) and out of school for no longer than six months at a time to avoid going into repayment.
