Hi Spaceacewannabe
Again, great reviews and pictures !!! Thanks for sharing. These have been so helpful in making our plans. I'm hoping you can help me with a very tough decision. If you could choose only one, would you choose Le Cellier for lunch or Coral Reef for dinner? Thanks.

Coral Reef for dinner :thumbsup2 BUT either one is a great choice. Are you more interested in appetizers, entrees, desserts? The appetizers at Le Cellier were a LOT better. The entrees were both great, but Coral Reef's was amazing. Desserts were excellent at both (I may have liked LC's just a bit better).
But for me, Coral Reef.

Thanks Spaceacewannabe. I think I was kind of hoping you would say that!!!! Coral Reef here we come :dance3: :dance3:

I had no idea that geletin was made of boiled animal skin. I quess when you say geletin I'm thinking like, jello. Live and learn. So much info here on the DIS!

I can't tell you how much this thread has helped me! The pictures were great, although your mom and sister must have thought you were OCD taking pics of everything you ate! I also really enjoyed the humor (especially regarding Onci (the not-waiter waiter!). Will be sure to book France and Coral Reef!

I really enjoyed the strudel at Coral Reef too. I'm not a goat cheese fan, so I ordered it without the goat cheese.

Where are you in WI? I spent 6 years as a cheesehead (college and post college) before moving home to Illinois, so I am very fond of my friends to the north. Since you mentioned the Dells, have you been to the Cheese Factory Restaurant? Not what I would call a "healthy" vegetarian restaurant, but it is one of our favorites!

Nope, never been! It's been forever since I was in the Dells---a couple of years since I've been at all, and that was just briefly for a conference. But I may need to check that out!

Jello is gelatin, so you were going in the right direction (not sure what kind of emoticon that deserves, since the jello revelation isn't a happy one!)

Being a vegan, I was very grateful for all the photos, explanations and time you spent posting your dining reviews.

I am curious, when you visited the Coral Seas was the smell of fish overpowering? I wanted to eat there, but some in my family were afraid it would be difficult to watch fish swimming and smell them being cooked at the same time. If that makes sense?

I appreciate your help.

Ha ha, that's a very funny thought!!! :lmao: Kind of like chosing your lobster at the supermarket...so glad that I do not eat Cochroach of the Sea  .
I booked our ressies today! We chose Chefs de France over Coral Reef, but we may just go by there to see what it looks like. I am exited about the lentil thing already.

The lentil thing was actually at Coral Reef (lentils were in the strudel), but I'm not sure I'm reading your message right ;)

Figarofan, I didn't notice a fishy smell at all (and we would have been bothered by it!).

Oh, thank you so much for answering that. I hope to convince those in my party to give it a try.

 Oops! I guess the tofu thing was at CDF then.
In any case, I'm still looking forward to it. I will eat fish, just not shellfish, so I guess it will be a little easier for me, but I still found your posts to be VERY helpful and I'm sure all of us 'restricted diet' disers do as well, no matter what our individual habits are. :)

Getting closer! The tofu was at Le Cellier ;) Chefs was the lasagnes and the mac & cheese (both fabulous!), and Coral Reef was the strudel with the lentils :thumbsup2

I know I'm a little late, but thanks for the great reviews! Your pictures and descriptions will definitely help me choose where to go on my next trip.

I really enjoyed this thread too! thanks!

GREAT FOOD REPORT!

I travel with my sister and we are both vegetarians. We love the choices we find at WDW but you braved a lot of places we skip! I am excited to try them now, can't wait for our next trip!

Thanks for the detail, and pictures. I am feeling pretty hungry about now!:)

Thanks everybody! I can't wait to be able to start another review thread in a few months! :cool1:

So if you're fully vegan, I think Le Cellier would be one of the best places to eat.

I LOVE your reviews! Pictures are great, and it's so refreshing to be able to actually read a review and apply it to my own planning!

But, I have to say that as a vegan the WORST meal for me in all of WDW is at Le Cellier. Yes, it's vegan...but seriously...a tomato and a mushroom cap? With some vinaigrette dressing? That's a meal? And at an outrageous price, to boot. Wasn't impressed with it in any way, and won't go back until they change the vegetarian option!!

Look for my vegan dining reviews in late September!popcorn::

It looks like they have! The menus on wdwinfo (connected with these boards) has what appears to be a pepper stuffed with a black bean cake. I'm glad to have missed the portabello mushroom phase (looked chintzy, and I don't like portabello mushrooms---too meaty of a flavor). I love the tomato appetizer there, though. The entree we had last summer looked odd but was great---and this summer's entree looks delicious!
