Not exactly a trip report, but excerpts from my May 12 4-night Wonder journal are posted in two long pages starting HERE. There are clickable links to photos within the text. The journal is from the same cruise as the photos I have linked here. For those who were on the cruise and knew I was writing an article - No, this isn't the article, just my personal journal.

I really enjoyed reading your report, and loved all the terrific pictures. :D Thank you so much for sharing with the rest of us! It sounds like you had a lovely, enjoyable cruise and that you made good use of your verandah. We, too, enjoyed our verandah so much on our Magic cruise and we're looking forward to having one again on our next Western cruise in January. Can hardly wait to be back on that beautiful ship. One question, how did you manage having lunch alone without having table companions?! My husband and I wanted to do that one day for lunch on the Magic and they had a fit. When we first walked up to the door we asked if we could have a table alone, or would we be seated with other people and he said we'd be seated with other people. We thanked him and turned to walk away and he called us back and said he would arrange it. He told the guy who was to seat us "a table just for two" but he still tried to seat us with another couple. We said no, we wanted a table alone and he just rolled his eyes so we turned and left! That was our ONLY bad experience on the Magic, but I just wondered how you managed to have a table by yourself. Also, it's too bad you were so mismatched with your dinner companions. :( But it sounds like you made the best of it and still had a terrific cruise!!

Chattyaholic, I had no trouble getting a table to myself for lunch. When I walked in and they knew I was alone, they asked if I wanted to sit by myself or with others. Not wanting to risk another mismatch, I said "by myself" and was led to a table for two and got LOTS of attention from the servers. I think it may have been an advantage to BE solo, because if they seat two people (or a family) with strangers, they know they will at least have each other to talk to. Seating one person with a family of strangers could be a more uncomfortable situation. Maybe that's their reasoning. Or maybe I just got lucky!

I just read your on line journal and looked at all the pictures. Since we're on the same cruise in October, maybe you could write MY trip report? Hee-hee!

Shari,

Thanks for posting your journal...it was nice to go back and remember that fun cruise.

We don't cruise again until next May, but we do have a trip to WDW planned for October and will be going to the first night of Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. Enjoy your Halloween experience on the Wonder. Can't wait to see your pictures when you get back from that.

Did you ever find out who sent the flowers and plush Mickey?

Bonnie Voyager: The link works for me and others so it may have been a temporary problem on either end. Please try again.

WDWLVR: I will be at Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party also, but not sure yet which night. Maybe I'll run into you guys ;-). I'll be in Florida from Oct. 15 to Nov. 19 and will spend lots of time at WDW. My adult nephew will be with me on the Halloween cruise - his first ever. Should be interesting. I hope to shoot lots of pics and am also taking my SLR for this one. I'm scheduled for the Sept. 13th western Magic NEXT year, but might switch to another date. I definitely will do another 4-night Wonder some time between the 3 day and the 7 day!

Ooops - Forgot to answer your question. No, I have not found out who sent them. I'm baffled by it, but sure can't complain! The flowers lasted a couple of weeks. The Mickey pot, plush Mickey, and Mickey cheese board are at the house in Daytona Beach. But I'm sipping coffee from the DCL mug right now!

I enjoyed reading your report especially since we were on the same trip!!! I enjoyed the pics too...kept looking to see if my family was in any others since the kids were in the Goofy Pool pic.:bounce: :Pinkbounc :earsboy: :earsgirl:

Cruisedad - Sorry we didn't get to meet on the cruise. I'll always have my cruise dates posted on the DIS cruise list, so if you find we're ever on the same cruise again, just let me know and I'll make it a point to photograph your family if you like. Same goes for any others DISers. I'd rather photograph DISers than total strangers who will never see the pictures!

If we end up on the same cruise again I'll make a point of meeting to say hi and get pics with family. :jester:
