Yeah, my colors don't look that vibrant out of the camera. Curious if I'm just a bad photographer (I know I'm not a good one), or if there is some post work done to really bring out the color. The castle picture is particularly striking to me (we can all compare to a castle picture we've taken).

can't answer for op naturallly but i have read a few articles that have said digital usually need a little sharpening( like in the adjust sharpness in pse5, 20% and radius of 60)and a little boost in saturation just due to digital not being as sharp as film..that would probably depend on you camera( ie a p&s probably needs more help than a $10,000 body and lens ), settings( ie you can do that with a parameter in canon) etc also but just as a rule of thumb

well, first I want to thank you all for looking.

To answer some questions, yes I do post-processing. I do not sharpen my photo's. If anything I soften them some. I also up the contrast and saturation a bit. I print everything I do on a metallic paper so the colors really jump at you. I shoot on a DSLR, an Olympus E-500. The capture just take lots of practice and reading your camera's manual. It doesn't all have to be manually done if you know what each setting on your camera does and how to use it. i don't always use the setting for what it's supposed to be used for and I almost always have the camera set to auto-focus. It's all about knowing where to focus to getthe look that you want
