DDC #23, When is the next Trip???

I called in to the reservation center today to make a change to my 1/13 - 1/20 reservation at the Fort. The reservation agent was so very nice and completed the change for us. On to the excitment......
I have been trying to book a prefered site for 12/23/07 -1/5/08 for months. I have read the boards, called when I could, and tried to get even a day, or two, on the web site. Nothing was ever available. Needless to say I gave up a few months ago. Just for fun I asked the reservations agent if he could check those dates and see if anything, even a day, was available. I relaxed knowing that there would be nothing and asking would validate that my quest was truly over. He paused and said, "I must have some extra pixie dust on my desk today". He asked if I would like to book all the dates because he had them available. I went nuts. I ran over to make sure the trip was OK with my DW. She looked at me like I was crazy and said OK. I have been smiling from ear to ear all day today.
To make a long story short we now are headed to the Fort for X-mas and New Years 07. The reservations guy did not know why the dates were available but he did say that booking longer stays can open up blocks of site that are unavailable to shorter stays. I hope that may help someone in the future. Thanks to all who have provided advice on the board here.
