Monday 15th October
A 9.15 reservation at 1900 Park Fare this morning meant for a reasonable early morning. Feeling a little bleary eyed, I was so excited to be dining in the Grand Floridian, my Mums dream resort!
Tigger was very naughty, banging on tables and sneaking up behind guests (me included!), and Pooh Bear was very sweet. Tom had gone to the buffest, so I was sat alone. Pooh blew me a kiss and drew me a heart shape and offered to sit down with me!
The food was really nice, lots of options, but Id forgotten all about the strawberry soup until I was too full!
Mary Poppins, Alice and the Mad Hatter missed us, because Tom was getting food, but they never came back so I had to ask someone. She didnt seem too pleased with me, but said theyd come back after theyd had a break (I know Im 23, but thats not very Disney-like!). Alice and the Mad Hatter were great fun Alice likes curiosi-tea and the Mad Hatter drinks insani-tea!
Mary Poppins was not interested in us. She just wanted to move on. She said thank you for coming, did you enjoy your tea, have a lovely day. Oh okay. This made me a little sad, because Mary Poppins holds a special place in my heart. In 2000, my then-5-year-old sister wouldnt meet any character. As soon as she saw Mary Poppins, she leapt out of her pushchair and ran straight for her, nearly knocking them both over!
We left the Grand Floridian and went to Typhoon Lagoon!
This was the first time for both of us for a number of years, and we had a fab time! We spent forever in the wave pool, did all the CrushnGusher slides several times and made the rounds on most other things!
We had a BBQ pork sandwich for lunch to share and a chocolate cake which was really good. It didnt look or feel that sunny, but we were very rosy! I didnt think wed spend that long here, but I was surprised to hear the announcement at 5pm saying its closing!
We got changed at the hotel before heading to Fantasia Gardens Mini golf! This was a lot of fun, as well as something different!
Tom got me wet whilst stood under this fountain (how was I supposed to know!) and I smacked my golf ball into the lake! All in all a wicked game! Tom won 53-63.
It was gone 8.30pm, so we head over to Downtown Disney for food. Wolfgang Pucks Express looked much quieter tonight, so we stopped off. I had a cheese pesto pizza with chocolate brownie and Tom had a spicy chicken pizza with a crème brulee. It was all really yummy, and a good use of counter service credits!
We wandered the shops, making mental shopping lists but called it quits and head back to the hotel for another first the following day!
Next Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party!
