and they won't let us use it. :sad2:

We got a $150 Disney Visa offer addressed to The "Smith" Family (my maiden name). On the actual application portion there is no name, just the address and invitation number.

DH tried calling last night and they won't give him the offer because his last name isn't "Smith". :headache:

The lady told him he could go to the website and get the current general offer ($15).

I know I'm just venting, but this seems ridiculous. It's not an offer for a specific person, it's supposed to be for our household. A good percentage of the married couples I know have different last names, so if they get an offer addressed to the "Husband" family, the wife can't take advantage of it because she kept her last name?

On another note that may be encouraging for others, I know how we were selected to receive the offer due to this mess up. We took my parents on our last trip, so one room had guests with our last name and the other room was for the "Smith's". So, for those who recently returned from a trip, maybe you'll get at $150 DV offer. :upsidedow

Why don't you call? I got an offer for the "Doe" family - my maiden name. I called, told them that was my maiden name and they had absolutely no problem taking my application. If you're worried you may not be able to open an account on your own, you could probably add DH to the application. Try it again. :)

ETA: that's how I got that offer - I'm sure the offer was intended for one of my DB's. There were 10 of us in 3 rooms - 6 of the 10 had the last name that the offer was addressed to.

try applying online...using the invitation code and see if it works. It may or may not... try putting ur middle name in with that name...see if it helps.

I had to call Chase yesterday to order a new card--I can barely see the numbers on it, guess I use it too much:lmao:-
I asked about an offer for my college age dd (to get her credit started) and to (hopefully) get a perk of Disney reward dollars;)
The guy got back on the phone and said there was one for $150 reward dollars:cool1::banana::dance3: He said to go to the website to access the special. I did that while talking to him, and didnt see it. He put me on hold, and then I got transferred---uggghhh!!! Anyway, the lady who took the call next couldnt find the offer. I asked to be transferred back to "Mike", but she said that she couldnt do that. Just great. She gave me another number to call and they couldnt find it either.....she said to keep checking out the site for new offers:sad2:

The email we got from disney about an upcoming trip had information about a $100 statement credit if we apply for the card when we do online check in. Not sure if this will be offered for all stays but people with upcoming trips may want to be on the lookout for offers in their trip email confirmations and updates.

:thumbsup2 This. I got an offer in my name and I was able to get the card even though I am a SAHM. I put in our household income. Granted, the credit limit wasn't as high as my husbands disney visa, but I still was able to get the $200 gc for our trip.

Well, he mentioned that it was my maiden name when he called last night, but the person he talked to said that they wouldn't give either of us the offer unless our last name was currently "Smith". :headache:

Perhaps I'll try to call and see if I get a more cooperative person.

Oh, and the reason I thought to have DH apply is that I already have a Disney Visa. I wasn't sure if I could have more than one account or if they would let me get the offer if I'm not really a new customer. :confused3

Unfortunately I tried that first. To apply online, it asks you for the invitation code, your zip code, and your last name. When I put in the three responses it automatically comes back with an error and tells me to call to apply.

Each person can have up to 3 Disney Visa's.

I have been to Disney 21 times. The only deal I ever got was with my Disney Visa card. ONE TIME! I have had a pin code and it was only for the Jones family. My daughter was a Jones during her first marriage. Well that was 12 years ago. The last few times we have been to Disney she wasn't a Jones. But they won't let us use it because she isn't a Jones now. How crazy is that. People are posting that they are getting 30 & 40 % discounts all the way in to Dec. 2011. I was told by one agent that my res. for Dec. 2011 has a 30% discount applied to it and then my friend looked up the identical package and was quoted the exact price I have which is supposed to be discounted. So I called back and got a different agent and she said there is no discount on my res. and never was. What's up with that?? I am getting very aggravated, If I didn't love WDW so much, I would never go back. This is so unfair.

Did you try to put SMITH in for the last name? Then when you go to apply where it asks for your name put your legal last name.

We got the 200.00 gift card offer last week, it came addressed to our household, my husband applied yesterday online (was approved) :) So he should be getting the 200.00 gift card. He already has the chase slate card (which gets him no perks, not sure why he has that card). So it will be nice to start getting something.

I am a charter member, but DSis wants to apply now. She's gotten offers in the past but of course now that she wants to she doesn't get one.

What phone number should I tell her to call to see if she has an offer tied to her name?

Doing a big trip in Dec, and she definelty would like to get the offer...

TIA.

We got this offer in the mail today. Please tell me more about the Disney Visa Character Meet N Greet that is listed? Has anyone done this? How is it similar/different from the AAA Storytime?
