I love the Cowbell skit! I think these are technically sheepbells, or goatbells, or something, but they work for the joke, anyway!

We left off our round-the-world tour in Germany, where I forgot to post this disturbing photo:

They were just sitting there in the dollmaker’s section, all decapitated and creepy-like!

It was pouring down rain again, so we stuck around in the German shops until it let up enough to continue on to Italy.

Pssst, I’m the one in the foreground!

As we made our way around the various food & wine booths, looking for something yummy, we kept seeing these people:

Oh, food & wine fest, I love you, and the way you motivate people to adorn themselves with shrubbery!

We could hear that the Village People’s show as about to start, so we maneuvered our way through the crowds towards America. One of my goals for this trip was to find out if they still perform in costume-- they DO! We were a million miles away from the stage, though, so THIS is the best photo:

Yeah, you WISH you could take photos that awesome!

We stuck around for a few minutes, but gave up since we honestly couldn’t see a thing (especially Sherice, who is tiny!) Plus, it was starting to rain again, so we ducked into the giant store in Japan.

We have no idea what this item was actually for, but Katie decided it made a great weapon!

Ewwwwwww!

There was a package of chips printed with pictures of peas.

“Oh! Those must taste like pea!”, I commented. This got me weird looks. Did you know “tastes like pea” sounds exactly like “tastes like pee”?

Hello, Kitteh!

If you have been to the “Photos that make you say ‘What the…’ thread, this makes perfect sense. Otherwise, it is very, very wrong.

The rain let up long enough for us to make it to Morocco….

Hey, Katie, what are you wishing for?

And #2 in the set of “Haven’t we done this before?”

You know it’s good when there are small children staring at you. (Way to rock the mad photo skillz, Katie!) ;)

About this time, it started raining…hard!!! We dashed into the little Morocco museum area, where we hid out for at least 20 minutes, sitting around and taking photos.

LOL!!!! Every time I look back at that pic, I start laughing (because that is what I was thinking when I was looking at it - "What the...?")! Most of the pics in this post were very amusing!

Dude. I am so dead over the "tastes like pea" comment.

Seriously, I was laughing out LOUD on my couch.

Oh, and I will be there in Feb. Hope to see you there.

BRING ME A SHRUBBERY!!

Oh, btw, that thing that Katie's holding Japan is a scalp massager. I have one. It ROCKS.

Loving it!!! :thumbsup2

And nice to know I'm not the only one who gets cranky sometimes in Disney!

They were just sitting there in the dollmaker’s section, all decapitated and creepy-like!

In my younger years, I would have made a great effort to find ketchup and "enhance" this scene. Not that I would do that anymore. Just think about it. At least they all have eyeballs. I'm just saying.

I adore this picture. I don't know how accidental it was, but your shadows against the stained glass are beautiful.

And yay to phallic Japanese massagers. They make the world go round.

Cystal,
I love how you use props from the stores in your pictures & I so got the what the????? picture from reading that thread. :thumbsup2

Sherice had been on a mission to find some sangria, and we FINALLY found it in Morocco- Hooray!!

I decided I could live without sangria, so I found a bench and sat down to change my camera battery while Sherice & Katie stood in line. After a few minutes, a loud “Awwww!” caught my attention. Turns out they had waited in the WRONG LINE! You waited in one line to pay, and then another to pick up your food/drink. THIS was the REAL line:

1864713579_64c8d086db.jpg

They make you WORK for your food and wine around here!

Eventually, they returned, and it seems that the person at the booth had randomly given Sherice two glasses of sangria instead of one, so she gifted the second one to me. Hooray!

MoRockin was just starting to play in Morocco (um, obviously!), so we carried our sangria over to watch. I love that they have a new(ish) belly dancer! I was getting bored with the old one, and the new one is actually quite good. I waited around to talk to her after the show, since I need to find a new dance studio if I move there, and found that she used to teach, but has recently stopped. D’oh! (After some searching, I found a place online that I think will be PERFECT for me, though! Yay!)

The time had come for the fastpasses Katie and Sherice had picked up for Test Track earlier in the day before I got there, so we started making our way back towards Future World. On the way, we saw this giant tower of drink glasses, right by the booth that sells the Grand Mariner Slushies!

2005580535_1e975e6540.jpg

While Katie was posing for the picture, a guy came up and said “Hey, you’re not taking credit for my tower, are you?” and insisted that Katie be in a picture with him.

2005580879_2f3956088d.jpg

I love that I captured the moment right as he started to spill his drink on her! (Awww, Katie made a friend!)

He later admitted that only two or three of the glasses were his. LIAR!

In the UK, Sherice and I amused ourselves in the phone booths…

(For Katie- Jolly good! Pip pip! What’s all this then? )

While the other two went to use their fastpasses, I set off four Mouse Gears to see if they still had the awesome new Epcot shirts I’d seen online. Nope! They were long gone. Sadness! They did have a couple of new vintage Epcot designs, but none that I really liked. Alas!

After my shopping side trip, I still had time to kill, so I though I’d just go hang out near the exit of Test Track.

It reminds me of what a cartoon superhero would drive!

After wandering around the display area for a while, I found a spot to wait right at the ride exit, where you claim your Photopass ride photos. However, that area is RIGHT next to the VERY LOUD machinery that demonstrates some aspect or another of car assembly. After about 10 minutes of waiting, I was getting a serious headache from the noise, and went to sit outside, instead. I feel so bad for the CM that has to spend hours and hours there at the photo machine!!!

I sat outside (Where it was finally NOT raining!), and discovered while I was waiting that there are about 14 seconds between cars as they zoom overhead. They must load really fast!

Finally, those crash test dummies in training re-emerged, and we went back to the World Showcase, to kill some time until Illuminations.

Maelstrom now had a 20 minute wait (down from 40 earlier in the day), so we joined the line.

2005961447_f3316ccece.jpg

Jack is ready to sail the high seas! Katie is texting (very s l o w l y) on her phone.

Towards the end of the ride, we explained to Sherice the trick about dashing through the movie theater at the end, as to not get trapped and forced to watch the film. However, when we got there, there was a sign stating that the movie would not be shown tonight. We all said some variation of “Aww, shucks!” and dashed outside.

I should pause here to tell you that Katie has been searching ALL day for one of those beauty pagent-style banners that read “Princess.” Well, as we were leaving Norway, there one was, on the cart outside the store! Score! Katie’s one goal has been met! She wins at life!

So, here’s a confession: We somehow ended up in Italy to watch Illuminations, but I have NO idea how or why. Let’s just pretend we were saving a bus full of orphans from attacking bears, okay? Cool.

We ended up having to move a little to the left of our original spot, because we were *directly* in the line of the smoke from the fireworks! YUCK! We still ended up with a good spot, though. I am still yet to get tired of Illuminations!

“…and then, Disney World exploded!”

My plan was originally to walk over to the Beach Club and take a bus from there to DD to go to the Club, but looking across the lagoon, the Beach Club seemed like a ree-eee-eeeally long walk, so I decided to walk out to the car with Katie & Sherice, and they would drop me off at PI instead. Yay! (Of course, we were parked in one of the very last rows in the Epcot parking lot, so it would probably have been WAY shorter to just walk to the BC! But being driven is way more fun. Also- if you want to amuse yourself at WDW, walk around the parking lot after park closing, and notice how many car alarms are going off. EVERYONE uses their alarm to find their car now! It’s pretty funny!)

Up next- Adventurers Club! Kungaloosh!

The following is written by the world-famous Katie, partly to speed up the trip reporting process, an mostly because I am way too lazy! Not to mention busy sticking things in boxes so I can mooooooooove!

Following our international jaunt around EPCOT’s World Showcase, Sherice, Crystal and I (Katie) found my car without issue (a first!) and set off towards Pleasure Island to deliver Crystal to the Adventurer’s Club. Having been to AC the night before, and having spent the entire day wandering in the rain at the theme park, I was tired and in great want of a shower and my own bed.* On the car ride there, however, Crystal put to use her skills of persuasion and I soon found myself saying, “Sure, I’ll go to the club for awhile!”

Now, at this point I was still wearing the pink Princess banner I’d purchased from the lederhosen-clad Norwegian outside the Maelstrom ride. Because really… why not? It’s Disney! After we’d safely parked at PI, I started to take off the banner, acknowledging it would make me a target. Persuaded to leave it on, I believe an audible, “Sure, why not,” may have been uttered as we skipped across the parking lot towards the land of Kungalooshes.

Not five seconds through the door, Crystal recognized an actor from the night before – and this time he was the one and only, Handsome Hathaway Browne. Before we had a chance to venture downstairs, he came to us. Ever the charmer, he recognized a Royal party and greeted us accordingly. He paused for a picture, then took his leave. We loitered for awhile by the railing to survey the ground floor before making our way downstairs.

Near the base of the stairs, I heard an announcement being shouted in the main room. The Princess is here! A stream of expletives entirely inappropriate for Disney flashed through my mind, as well as, “Well it’s your own damn fault for wearing the banner!” Hehe. We walked into the room where I was stolen from my friends and escorted down a receiving line (thank you, Fletcher Hodges) before escaping to the bar for a (then) much needed drink.

Kungalooshes in hand, we sat beneath God with Rod (or is it Rodless God? hmm…), where dear Fletcher then gifted Crystal’s boo…chest… I mean t-shirt… with a Star Wars serenade on his xylophone. Has anyone seen that youtube of the Star Wars trumpet chick? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pr7ifB8JF-w) Yeah, it was NOTHING like that. After an impressive rendition of the main theme, Crystal, Sherice and I filtered into the library for the first of the many shows that night. Yes, friends, as tired and reluctant as I’d been at the beginning of the evening, I somehow managed to muster the strength for a second wind.

After a rousing round of Balderdash, during which the Adventurer of the Year cup was awarded to the charmingly befuddled Emil Bleehall (in spite of one contestant’s heroic plummet down 2-stories), we three made our way to the Mask Room for another show courtesy of adventurer extraordinaire, Hathaway Browne. After listening to a few stories worthy of the Balderdash cup, we were left alone as prey for a couple of men from… where was it… hmm, let’s say they were from a corn field in Iowa. Ooh, you know? I think they were from Atlanta. Either way, safe bet they weren’t from Greco-Romania. They were nice enough, except for the little one sitting next to them who appeared to be there by himself - as his obnoxious self had been disowned, even by his family. Fortunately for us, dear Hathaway made yet another appearance and stole our attentions away from the cornfield Atlanticans. Though I do have to dock him a couple of cool points (- 2) for calling me Kelly. That’s right, Mr. Browne… what’s my name?

We stayed for the Hoopla (Hoopla!) at the end of the night… oh, and somewhere in there we became honorary members of da Cloob, too. Kungaloosh! Everyone’s a winner. But back to the Hoopla. Hathaway redeemed his cool points (+ 2) by calling me by name (the right one, this time) before he sang his final song of the evening.* And I might have to slide him another cool point for the way he so slyly stole a kiss. Hey Hathaway, you can kiss me on a Monday a Monday a Monday… or any other day, for what it’s worth.

After a long day of Food, Wining and Kungalooshing, we three weary travelers returned to the car, then to our various homes and hotels… and finally off to sleep.
