Have you thought about buying boot tops? Any of the online costume shops have them available. And you can put them on something you already have that is comfortable.
If you look through the online costume shops, you may find things you can use, and you don't have to wait for the seasonal stores to open. Of course you do have to pay for shipping.
I'm wearing a three piece dress and I have to make alterations to it, but since I can't sew they are going to involve a lot of Velcro.
You have now reminded me I have to go to the site to buy flowers for my hat.
Ah, velcro! Best invention since the post-it note! I can sew, but I'm very lazy, so I have more than one dance costume that's held together mostly by safety pins.
I like the boot tops, but I'm not sure which shoes to put them over- I doubt somehow that they'd still be convincing over Crocs.![]()
This would be so much easier if I just knew what the weather would be like those nights!
Crap! It better not rain on Halloween.
hmmmm...have you checked these places already? you probably have i suppose!
To Be A Pirate
Dress Like A Pirate
i think that considering the pirate craze everyone is in right now, there will be a ton of options for you once the halloween stores start opening up! good luck, matey!
I knew my obsession with Renaissance fashion would eventually come in handy.![]()
This pirate shirt is totally awesome, but apparently only comes in red. This one is nice and comes in various colors, but is pretty much no-frills (literally). This one is a blouse I actually own.Rather piratey looking IMO. Here's a better picture of it from another website:

Happy Costume Hunting!
I just canceled my order with Amazon, because I just felt... icky...about paying $13 for shipping. $13 is almost enough for a Kungaloosh for you and a friend!
I ordered the Capris through Shoebuy with a discount code, so at least I'll be able to send them back for free if they don't work. Now I just need to find teh Sassaris!
Crystal - try surfanddirt.comI got my last couple pairs form them - cheap and fast shipping.
I found this

It's $19.98 for the shirt and vest but the vest only comes in black or brown. I'll keep looking for ya!
ETA: Oops, my bad, I think the price is only for the vest. Sorry.
Sorry to commandeeryour TR Crystal, but I am just so excited, esp about the Crocs purchase!
First of all I am the self professed queen of saftey pinning! It made me laugh when you mentioned pinning a lot of your costumes together!I can sew I just choose not too, I even have a sewing machine...with the stickers still on it, untouched by human (or my) hands!
Another good pirate website--had a few costumes I didn't see on others....in fact found one my hubby would let me order for him to wear on Pirate Night on our cruise.
