FINALLY COMPLETE! 10/3/2010- But Why is the Rum Gone? Disneyween 2007

I love that idea!! it would make a wonderful scrapbook of your trip. I may have to steal this idea from you for my upcoming trip as well. I may have to flip through the dictionary and find some ideas.

For now, here are a couple of words for you:

Magical
Jubliant
Merciful
Memory
Peril

take care!

Thanks for the words so far! I need to put em all in a big list!

Also, I don't know what I was thinking when I last posted- Kelly doesn't graduate next weekend, it's TODAY! She is now officially edumacated! I am so proud!

I've always been an ADJECTIVE fan myself. So, in bold/caps are my faves:

SUPPLE (that's right .. find a pic that represents supple :woohoo: )

And, for the English majors, I offer a special challenge.

COPIOUS
SUPERFLUOUS

Ahh ... The copious Vs superfluous debate. Actually, there isn't much to debate, as there is a clear winner for those who know the definitions. I leave that up to the pictures :thumbsup2

My job is done here

I only minored in English but I went to law school so I will try to keep the Latin phrases out of it.

protuberance
underwhelmed
juicy
conspicuous
trouble

Heh. I just had Schoolhouse Rock pop into my head when you asked for words. "Now I'll unpack my adjectives..."

The first word that came to me:

Enigmatic

That's it so far. I'm useless, what can I say? ;)

How about projectile? Depending on where you are at any given time this could have all kinds of interpretations. ;)

Thanks for all of the word suggestions so far! I'll keep a running list! :)

Remember that SWW counter in my signature? I've mostly been ignoring it, because I was pretty sure I wasn't going to go. Now, I'm really starting to think I *will* go. My mind isn't 100% made up yet, but there's a possibility that I'm going to Disney World in 3 weeks!! I'll keep you updated! :)

3 weeks?!? You're going to WDW in less than 3 weeks?!? WooHoo! (Take me with you!!!!!!!!!) I hope it works out for you and you can go. :thumbsup2

Sadly, it looks like the SWW trip is off :( I went back and forth all week about if I should go or not, and by the time I made up my mind to go, airfare had jumped from $180 up to almost $400. Add that to no AP discounts for value resorts, and it just ended up being too far out of my budget.

On the bright side, that means more money for Disneyween! And only 5 months to go! I keep nagging Katie and Kelly to post something here, but apparently they don't spend as much time glued to the internets as I do! Hopefully I'll have updates of interest soon, though!

If any of you guys are going to SWW on the the weekend of the 8th, I'll love you if you can snap some pictures of Ray Park (Darth Maul) for me! And maybe you could kidnap him for me, too? :rotfl2:

Also, if any of the Adv Club Cast is doing the "Hyperspace Hoopla" or Jedi academy stuff again, I would love to see pics! Let me live vicariously through you!

In other happy, if somewhat unrelated news, I managed to get an appointment with a different ear doctor for this Friday (instead of having to wait till the 11th!), so I may be back to normal soon! Which will be good, because only working part time is really cutting into the Disney fund!

Perhaps soon I'll post pictures of some of the "pirate mail" Kelly and I have been sending back and forth to countdown to the trip!

Sorry Crystal! I understand the disappointment! :sad2: I just did the same thing trying to figure out if I could take Jordan for a long weekend, just me & her, for a graduation getaway. No matter how you look at it, it would be at least $1000 or more, after airfare, the room, food, and of course, P&P party tickets. We just can't do it. :sad1:

BUT think of all the fun we're going to have in October!!! So, it could be worse, eh?

So, when are you going to see PotC3? Midnight show opening day?

I'm really sorry to hear that SWW won't work for you this year, Crystal. On the brighter side, you'll still be returning to WDW before I will.

Take care and keep us posted on your Disneyween planning!

Sounds about like mine! I thought that I could do a quick weekend getaway for fairly cheap, but it ended up being like $1300, and that's not counting the AP. I just couldn't justify spending that much when I have another trip in 5 months!

Not sure when I'll get to see Pirates yet- I hae to work on opening night- sad! But on the bright side, they'll be playing it on the big IMAX screen, so my Captain Jack will be 6 stories tall! That's a WHOLE lotta pirate!

Well, I am finally emerging from my position as lurker :) I'm sorry your SWW trip didn't work out, but at least you can still have fun planning for your Disneyween trip! I love your idea of matching photos with pictures. I think a cool picture woiuld illustrate the word "decisions"...not as sophisticated as some offered earlier, but it seems like there are a lot of decisions made in WDW.

Can't wait to hear more!

I was thinking of you Disneyweeners over the weekend-there was a pirate dance at the dance recital I went to, and they wore cut up dance pants. :)

Awwwww, I'm sorry to hear about the no-go for SWW. But seeing a 6 foot Jack should make up for most of that ;)

In my opinion, Dinsey vacations and 'budget' never go hand-in-hand. I'm of the mindset that it's best to stockpile the cash, then enjoy the vacation not worrying about any sort of budget (within reason). Vegas, WDW, and many other destinations look good on price initially, but it's always the little things that really start to add up over time.

On the bright side, that means more money for Disneyween!

TRANSLATION: If you run across any DISers during your trip, it sounds like drinks are on you :thumbsup2

Given that Pirates 3 is premiering tonight (although neither Katie nor I are getting to go on opening night- haven't heard from Kelly on the subject yet!), I thought I'd post something pirate-related!

MNSSHP tickets went on sale back on May 1st, and of course I called on that very day to get mine! I also ordered one for Kelly to send as a graduation present, so I wanted to wait until she got it before I posted about it here, just in case she happened to come read about it before she recieved it!

There was something funny about calling for the tickets- You know how they confirm your address every time you call, confirm your e-mail, and then say something like "And your last trip here was in January, 2007?" Well, this time, when the CM got to that part, he cracked up. Turns out that the computer was showing that my last visit was in....

... October, 1971! I am apparently such a Disney fan that I was at Opening Day, even though I wasn't born yet! :woohoo: Beat that, Disney Tattoo Guy!

The tickets arrived about a week later, and they have basically the same designs on them that all tickets have right now. I had been somewhat hoping for something Halloweeny, but at least they're the hard plastic kind! I still don't quite understand why tickets made to be used once are the plastic credit card type, but Annual Passes are the paper kind! :confused3

Now that I had the tickets in my greedy little hands, it was time to send one off to Kellylou!

Also included in the package: A fun Disneyween list of things to do I typed up at work one day (14 pages! Yeesh!), some spare park maps I had laying around, and a radish growing kit.

Kelly likes radishes.

I also hear that the Yeti chose to send her his own kind of congratulations:

Oh, Yeti, you're a good guy! Can't wait to come see you!

Crystal, the Imagineering Guide to the Animal Kingdom arrived in the mail today! I'm so excited... This will be perfect reading for the weekend.

I see that they have changed the image on the ticket pass-cards. Or maybe mine was different because I got my pass when I checked into the hotel last time, and it had my dates, etc. on it...

Oh, and it's now 35 days until my 6-week trip to Malaysia and Thailand. I'm so excited... and I'd better get to booking that trek to the elephant sanctuary.

OOH! I need to order it, STAT! :) I think I have some Amazon gift certificates sitting around- time to put them to use!

I can't wait to hear about your SE Asia trip! Say hi to my elephant if you see him! :)
