FINALLY COMPLETE! 10/3/2010- But Why is the Rum Gone? Disneyween 2007

She's baaaaaaccckkkk!
Yeah.

Loved the baggallini demos, but now I'm a bit worried about some liability issues.

See I gave my BFF a red baggallini for her birthday for her first family trip to WDW. What is she decapitates herself with it? :scared1:

Will her husband and sons ever forgive me?

Gift-giving is so complicated. ;)

I guess I won't be getting sponsored by the nice baggallini folks anytime soon, will I? :rotfl2:

How did I not realize you had started your pre-trip? Now I have six pages to catch up on...I better hurry up! :teeth:

Welcome aboard- it's about time! I would give you the speech that Ellen gives those who arrive at Universe of Energy late, but it is 4am and I can't remember it, so I'll just tell you that your hair looks cute today. Now, remain seated, and no flash photography!

OK I'm caught up. I love the nametags. Still wish I could visit WDW the same time as you, but since I'll be off in Key West watching my mature, responsible, adult friends get hitched instead, I'll just pretend that the Kelly in your reports is me because we have the same name. Oh well, next halloween for sure. Unless of course, you suddenly have a Disney overload and decide to take a break for a couple of years (yeah, right!)

I feel your Sanjaya pain - his version of "Bathwater" was in my head for about 76 hours. Straight.

And the baggallini & crystal photo essay?....priceless.
I wish I had a better pic of my official park bag, which is a big purse with miss Alice on it.

I've never been to this pool, and now I think I never will. IT scares the heck out of me (that's what my tag refers to)!

Anyway....glad you are back, and glad to be spending most of 2007 sharing in your planning & trip taking!

See, now that is a nice, innocent-looking bag, that appears to be harboring no secret plans to strangle you! I need one of those!

Mature, responsible adult friends? I don't think I have any of those... where did you find yours? I'm still sad that you have to miss the Disneyween fun! Get me a postcard of Hemmingway's 6-toed cats or something in Key West!

I have avoided Sanjaya's version of bathwater for that very reason. The imaginary version in my had is bad enough! I did try to rock his multi-ponytail mohawk, but alas, my hair lacks that certain Sanjaya je ne sais quoi.

The BW pool freaks my freak, as Ellen would say. (Man, I am all about Ellen today!) WHAT were they smoking when they decided to make a giant CLOWN, and you come out of his MOUTH, as if he has just EATEN you? Although I guess it's better than going in his mouth, and coming out....

Your pre-TR has gotten me so pumped for my own trip to WDW at pretty much the same time you're going (Oct. 21-28). Me and my DF are staying at the Dolphin and are doing MNSSHP, hopefully a combo of Hoop De Doo and the Haunted Hayride, and also Halloween Horror Nights. I did a shorter version of the exact same trip last year and it was probably the best few days of my life!! You will **love** WDW at Halloween. MNSSHP is the BEST - the decor, parade, and fireworks rule, and as I'm sure you know from being a loyal DISer, there are NO lines for any of the MK rides around 5-7 pm. It was sheer heaven.

Soooo - it's almost time to make ADRs! My personal recommendation (not that you asked for it!) is to make a dinner reservation at MK around 5 pm on the day of MNSSHP so you can sit around and watch the park clear out. I'm sure the fancy tea would be good too though. Methinks we're gonna do Liberty Tree Tavern the night of MNSSHP, and also 50s PrimeTime, Le Cellier, Brown Derby, and Crystal Palace.

THANKS for posting!!! Post new info if/when you do your ADRs!! Can't wait to hear how your plans turn out!

Hey, if you're at the Dolphin, we'll be neighbors (if I actually get my BCV ressie!) I'll come borrow a cup of sugar, or tell your kids to get off my lawn, or something else neighborly. I don't know, I've never spoken to my real neighbors, so I don't know the protocall these days!

I wish they would announce the MNSSHP dates for certain already! I need to plan, frammit! I'm thinking of basically planning nothing that day, except for sleeping in. That way we can stay late! And I know it will take us a long time to change into saucy pirate wenches from our usually saucy wench selves!

I really DO need to figure out those ADRs soon! It may be time to explain the concept to Kellylou of deciding now what she wants for dinner in 6 months!

I'm hoping I don't have the same Baggallini issue! I'm a bit of a klutz (runs in the family, I swear, I had no chance!) and can see myself getting tangled in it...I just love it so much that I have to give it a shot!!

You've still got a couple weeks, but yeah, I'd plan for at least a few ADRs. While the parks aren't as crowded during the week, F&W Fest keeps the restaurants near EPCOT filled, and MNSSHP fills a lot of the restaurants around MK and the Monorail loop. Kellylou will be thanking you in 6 months when you have a place to sit and eat. You should have seen the look on some people as they were turned away from the TS places for not having an ADR. Boma and Le Cellier had people close to screaming while I happily sat by drinking a cocktail, waiting for my ADR time

I wish they would too! I can't wait to be able to check that off of my list.

I really DO need to figure out those ADRs soon!
I do too! I have idea's of wehre I would like to go, but waiting to see what dates will definetely be offered for halloween.

This Trip Report is rated "Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr"! pirate:

Howdy, friends! It's been a while, so I thought I'd update you on all of the crazy trip planning!

To get in the pirate mood, let's check in with Mr. Potatohead (husband of Mrs. Potatohead the Multiple Amputee!)

potatohead.jpg

I've had so much fun shopping lately! Just this week I've bought:

* 2 Pirate lanyards for pin trading! (Yay, ebay!)
* Fun surprises for Kellylou! (I suck at secret keeping. I came home and told her "I just bought you fun things! But I can't tell you about them!)
* Fun loot to give out to DISers we run into the park, or at our AC meetup!

Now that I’m starting to get a collection of loot, I need bags to put it in! I’ve found a few different options, and I’d like your opinions on what you like best!

These are the cheapest ones, at $1/dozen. They’re simple, cute, and they would do the job! And $2-$3 would cover pretty much all I need!

pouchd.jpg

I like these because they’re black and very piratey! They’re $1.29 each,

dsp_pirate_personalized_picture.jpg

I think these are probably my favorite. They would obviously say something about Disneyween, not someone’s birthday, but you get the idea ;) The down side, of course, is that they’re $1.60 each, plus I’d have to pay about $4.50 shipping.

One of my favorite purchases so far is the new Official Disneyween Planning Notebook!

My piratey costume is slowly coming together. So far, I know I’ll be wearing my black Melodia pants:

They’re actually my favorite dance pants, but I think they’ll pull great double duty as pirate pants!

And I bought this Simplicity pattern:

I’m planning to make the shirt and the corset thing, but I haven’t picked out fabric or anything yet. And I may get lazy and just buy a peasant top instead of making one ;)

And after a lot of experimenting with all sorts of scarves and adornments, I am pretty sure I have the headwear worked out:

pirate2.jpg

The scarf part is actually the belt from an old Persian dance costume, and the coins are a necklace I wear with my tribal fusion costume. It’s my goal to work pieces of several of my dance costumes into my pirate costume- I want it to be full of history and stories, just like Jack’s!

I've also been stocking up on fun Pirate & Halloween themed scrapbook stuff! Here's some of the pirate themed items I've found so far:

And I've made Kelly her very own LGMH!

kellylou.jpg

It looks much better in person- the writing is green, not the icky color that is showing up on here!

We're still working out the resort issue. I've gotten one offer for a studio at BCV, but they're asking quite a bit more than we planned for. I think we may end up taking it anyway, though, just because we really, really want to stay there!

I discussed the matter with Stitch, and he made it quite clear where he would rather be staying:

stitchpoly.jpg

Yes, Stitch, I wish we were staying at the Polynesian, too! Someone remind me to buy a lottery ticket? Or make Stitch get a job?

Incedentally, this is what happens when I try to take a picture NOT involving a cat in my house:

stitchlily.jpg

Apparently the cats have been hanging around Katie, because they now pose as soon as I pull out the camera! ;)

One final bit of news! Disneyween now has it's own MySpace. I think that's final proof that I have a little too much time on my hands! ;) If you want to friend us up, or just check it out, you can find us at:

That's it for now, adventurers!

I wish I had an OUNCE of your creativity! Everything looks great, I LOVE the head scarf, it's perfect!

WOW! You go girl, er... pirate! Your costume's really coming together and I love the goodie bag options. Tough call.

Poor Stitch, though. I feel his pain.

This would be my fav as far as the bags go ... BUT after looking at the price, I think you'd be better off with

25_3443.jpg

It's kind of a toss-up with these two. If the bag on the left is clear plastic, it'll probably hold-up better and not tear. But, the bag on the right looks like it might double as a barf bag, which would come in handy after a long night at the AC. I'd say go with one of these two.

Thumbs up on the great costume planning! Presently I'm going the very lazy route. I'm planning on throwing on some scrubs and doing the who doctor thing, maybe with a lab coat to go with it. Also planning on wearing a skull-cap and eye-patch to be tad unique. I'll consider myself a pirate-doctor, or to view it from the action-hero point of view ... I'll be Nick Fury or Snake Plisken (see Escape from New York) if they decided to become a doctor. You could really pick any eye-patched anti-hero and just throw scrubs on them. And in the end, the scrubs are just darn comfortable. It'll be like partying in your PJs.

haha a myspace page for Disneyween! Love it.
I actually like the first bag best - the cheapest one - only partially because I am frugal ;) I like that you can see what's inside.
Those pants are gorgeous, and I am very envious of your ability to sew things. 'Learn to sew' is on my life list of things I wish to accomplish...someday.

Normally a lurker but wanted to post. I sent a request on myspace to add you as a friend. Awesome job as always.

How many bags of loot do you plan to do? If you aren't planning on too many, I like the more expensive bags. But as you say the cheaper ones will do the trick. Arrrrrrrn't ya creative?pirate:

Hey Crystal! I'm loving the pre-trip! We're (me, DH and DS) going to be there the same time as you! Oct 26-Nov. 3....at the BCV (a one bedroom for us)! Maybe we'll run into you there!! Looking forward to all your planning adventures.

Love the pre-Trip report-I use a LL Bean travel bag (a large has fit a large-ish camera confortably). Love the cat pictures!
I also added Disneyween on Myspace.

Super sweet! I sent Disneyween and YOU a friend request. I'm Amanda, by the way!

I made the ADRs for my October Disney trip yesterday and I thought of you and DISNEYWEEN!!! Only a few months to go, right? At least I tell myself it's a few. :rotfl:

Another lurker outing themselves...

I actually just happened to be browsing, remembered your name from the Sims thread, and decided to read about your upcoming adventures. Little did I know I'd be sitting at my cubicle laughing hysterically..especially at the baggallini demo! Too funny!

I hope to continue following your many pre-planning adventures! :)

Ok - :offtopic: There's a Sims thread??? Someone direct me sim-addicted butt to where it is!!!! :) Thanks....back to your previously scheduled TR!
