Hi all!
As you can see, I have never done any kind of trip report before. This trip is proving to be a little more challenging than those in the past, so I thought Id share our plans/frustrations we experiences along the way.
The cast:
Me-planner, packer, organizer, etc., no thrill rides for me, but love TofT
DH-pretty much along for the ride, loves all rides
DD12-favorite ride-any thrill ride but TofT
DS9-not very ride adventurous, but once he goes on a ride, it becomes his favorite, ex Soarin, Barnstormer
Both kids will have birthdays before our trip, so it will be our first vacation with a teenager! Give me strength!
The back story:
DH and I will be celebrating our 20th anniversary in January 2010.
I had been toying with various trips for the 2 of us and decided on a cruise. I then decided we should do a Disney Cruise, but how could I do that without the kids. It was decided they would go with us b/c it is just too hard to find someone to come and stay with them during the school year. All of our family is a minimum of 6 hours away. I really dont mind taking the kids with us on trips, so this was not really a big deal.
I then started looking at when we could go and how much it would cost. YIKES!!! More money than I thought it would be. So now our trip is turning into a normal Disney trip for us and DH and I will do a weekend away on our own. No big deal.
I began making plans for the week after Thanksgiving 2009. We would fly to Orlando on Thanksgiving Day, rent a car and drive to Ft Myers to visit DH sisters family and grandma. We would drive back to Orlando on Sunday and check into resort. We would fly home on the following Sunday. This is exactly what we did in 2006.
Up next, what resort to pick? 4 people, 4 opinions, 1 budget
