Wow.... 30 years and bye bye to the Vet. DH and DS were at the game. Just finished watching the very emotional closing ceremonies on TV. All the Phillies greats were there. Just an awesome ceremony!

What? For real?

I remember when it was brand new! :(

My DBF was at today's game with a buddy, he called me up and was pretty choked up! The ceremony was touching! Larry Bowa was crying a LOT!

I was at yesterday's game, there was a pre-game ceremony and it POURED on everybody! I liked when the Navy Seals parachuted into the Vet.

I had some good times at the Vet, but I am really looking forward to the new stadium, Citizens Bank Park, in 2004!

We had it on this afternoon, but I missed the end when they showed the 3 reinactments and then Tug McGraw came out on the field. My friend and and I went to pick up our chinese food takeout:( When we got home DH told me that it was a really neat ending and everyone was emotional. However...I was still totally in awe of how INCREDIBLE Darren Daulton's butt looked:D Yeesh, he still is yummmmmy:cool:

After DH returned home from the game, he could not stop talking about it. Kept saying "What a great day." He said there did not appear to be a dry eye in the place. They tailgated before and after and so enjoyed it!

GG, the rain on Saturday was followed on Sunday by a brief appearance of the sun in the final moments of the closing ceremony.

My sister and stepfather went... they both cried!!!

I saw the game, too. I almost couldn't believe those were Philly fans til they voraciously booed a child for dropping a ball. As much as some will miss the Vet, I know they will love their new park.

As I'm out here in Portland, I watched the game on TV - well most of it. They actually put the 2nd half of the Eagles game on Fox after the Vikings were kicking major butt, so I ended up turning the Phils game off - aren't I horrible?? :p

When I was visiting my parents back in September, I went to my final Vet game - agst. the Mets. It was very sentimental for me. I wish I could have seen the closing ceremony, maybe they'll sell it on video or something -- did anyone tape it by any chance?? I should have asked my parents to.

At least the Vet was graced with Javy Lopez one last time :)

Long live the memories at the Vet.

Oh yes! The Javy homer was just too sweet. That record is all his now....:D

Adrianna, check the Phillies website for any video of the ceremony, I have a feeling they will put out a video for sale.

And , yes, the Eagles won! yaay!

You mean like cheering for a prone Michael Irvin as he lay on the cement they called turf?

Or the time Santa Claus got booed?

Yep, some great memories in that place.
