I've always kind of glazed over when it came to the "business" side of Disney. After last week and this week's podcasts, I'm starting to get curious, but couldn't make sense of what Dustin was talking about. Can someone give me a 101 course?

I'm working on a blog about it :-)

Me to I am very curious about this. Well let me rephrase this I am curious about everything. :rotfl2:

For a not so quick primer on the game-of-thrones internal politics at Disney, check out "Disney War". The real problem with that book is it ends before Eisner leaves, and it doesn't talk about the parks as much as I would have liked.

I'll check that out, thanks!

I got half way through it and couldn't finish it because it makes me so mad. I really should try finishing it someday...

I read that book. I found it interesting how Iger survived all that. Also, I kept thinking how unfun it would be to be a top executive's wife. All of your socializing revolves around your husband's business and making connections at dinner parties. And the rest of the time, they probably didn't see their husbands much. Sure, they all zipped here and there on a whim and have tons of money, but it sure didn't seem like they had any fun. It sounds like a very stressfull life and they all had to worry about staying in power.

Disneywar is one of my favorite books. Can't recommend it highly enough.

If you liked Disney War, you should also read "The Pixar Touch: Making of a Company." It sort of intertwines with Disney War and how Eisner almost totally lost Pixar.

Just listened to last weeks podcast. First great job. I love going to the rumor boards. Can't wait to read the blog.

Where are these rumor boards? :)

Just kidding... Found them!

I wish they were in a different portion of the boards, but I think I will add a link in my signature for easy reference :-)

Also the blog is nearly finished, I'm just putting final touches on it :thumbsup2
