Figment Ride - Need to Ask

I actually like the current version just fine, though I understand the fond memories of the original. Anything with Eric Idle will usually work for me, plus I like the references to 70's Disney films set at Medfield College. The song is still as catchy as ever!

It might be time for an update though, but I'd never want Figment or the general concept to go away. Plus, the Image Works could use some sprucing up too.

I have to admit that I think it is cute. DD loves the play area at the end. The only issue is that it takes her forever to leave.

I like the ride. I think it's underrated. Especially if you compare the wait times to other attractions. I prefer Figment over the Nemo ride. Unfortunately, Epcot does not have many rides. My kids would pick Figment over Spaceship Earth any day.

Very true, the wait time was quite short (well basically walk on). Then again so were all the Epcot rides we went on minus Soarin and Test Track. Personally I much prefer Spaceship Earth...that one, I found cool.

It's original incarnation is my favorite. I still have (and use) my Figment mug from 1984, as well as my stuffed Figment. It was my favorite ride in EPCOT as a child. I'm glad I get to share some semblance of it with my kids when we go next fall. :goodvibes

My DD (6) LOVES this ride! We were definitely the only ones rushing to it at rope drop on our last trip. Now I am going to have the imagination song in my head the rest of the night!

This was actually the very first stuffed animal my oldest received as a small child. She didn't know it was a Disney character til we went on our first visit in 1995. Now - she is a collector of all things Figment! and she is 24 :) When she worked at Disney a few years back, she was constantly at the ride looking for new merchandise and any time she went to Epcot - the ride for the day was a MUST!

I agree with all the other posters - the original was much much better and definitely needs a re-imagining to bring it up to date for today's young audience.

I will be taking a ride myself for old times sake when I go on my first solo trip in May for the Garden Festival :)

I always ride the first time and then sit on the bench outside while DD and DH walk on and off at least a half a dozen times. DD has always loved this ride:goodvibes

I love figment in any form I can get 'im. lol I hope they update the ride and connect the comic series in, it would be really neat... and lots of Dreamfinder as the comic centers on him and Figment.

I agree- it is cheesy and corny and I love it! I rode it for the first time with my college roommate and we sang that song forever!

We were there on Friday and the kiosks in the play area- where you design your own Figment- didn't work properly. About half of them had keyboards that didn't type at all and the other half had keyboards that were so used that you couldn't see the letters because they had rubbed off. Disappointing for my kids and a sad state to see the disrepair of a classic ride.

Perhaps, but also a great motivation to learn touch typing!

I don't mind it...short lines, air conditioning, and such. The kids seem to love it. Why? "Upside down toilet!"

Am I the only one singing the song now after reading this thread? I love figment, don't care for the ride but I think he is adorable. I do the ride once each trip but the family could care less for it.

Another Figment-in-any-form lover here. There's a magnetic Figment plush sitting about two feet from me right now as I type.
