I decided to buy DVC resale this summer. It was pretty overwhelming trying to digest all the info, but thankfully mostly to these boards, I became educated in the ways of DVC and made the plunge.

I was contemplating between using Fidelity and The Timeshare Store. I heard all the pros and cons about both. In the long run I decided to go with Fidelity. The reason why I did this was because of price. TTS was great with their customer servce but overall the prices at Fidelity were significantly cheaper. My biggest factor was price. So I shopped for a contract based on price my budget of $7000-$9000. I was in the market for 150 points. I saw a contract for OKW at $48 pp, so it seemed like a good deal. However, my first choice was BW. I called Fidelity and by random choice my agent became Sharon. We talked very briefly and she described the contract that I was interested in in more detail. I put in an offer and she was to call me back the next day. She called me back an hour later to say that the sellers had changed their mind and pulled the contract back. She said she would continue looking for a similar OKW contract. Further discussions, revealed to her that my first choice was BW. She said she would see what she could do. Again, within an hour she called me back with a contract for BW that was better than the OKW one! I put in an offer based on what the seller was asking. 5 weeks later - Welcome Home - its mine!

My point of this posting is this; I wanted everyone to know that working with Sharon at Fidelity was a great experience. She was patient and knowledgable. More importantly she called me and emailed me back in very good time. At no point was I left waiting, or did I ever have to call her twice without getting a response back. Sometimes I would email her, and she would not only email my back right away, she would call me back too, to ensure I got her email. If I called her after hours (or on the weekend) and left a voicemail, she would call me back first thing in the morning.

Buying DVC, seemed to me at least, to be a big purchase and a little bit nerve wracking. Sharon made everything seem so much easier and put my mind at ease. I would definately use her and Fidelity again. The closing company she used was First American. I really didnt have to deal with them, as Sharon facilitated everything for me.

I am now in the process of buying another contract on behalf of a friend with Sharon. :cool1:

.....I called Fidelity and by random choice my agent became Sharon.....

based on my own experience, and comments by others on these boards...I think that is why you had a good experience using Fidelity. The broker can make it a great experience or a crappy one.

Thanks for sharing your experience as I also dealt with Sharon and we had a similar experience. In fact, listen to this... when I called to make my offer on a VWL contract, she happened to have the seller on the other line, so my offer was accepted in record time - less than a minute!!! Everything went smoothly and I wouldn't hesitate to use Fidelity again.

i also had a fine experience with Fidelity and would use them again!

We have purchased two DVC contracts through Fidelity. It wasn't a preference for Fidelity so much as they had the contract size and UY we wanted. Our purchase using Sharon (Feb, 2011) was great. I cannot say the same for our other purchase (Feb, 2010) with another agent at Fidelity. Our experience with their title company was not so hot with either agent. Our first purchase (with the Fidelity agent who shall not be named), the title company (First American Title) snail mailed the closing docs to an incorrect address instead of emailing them to us and even after getting that straight, they used the wrong address when recording the deed. With Sharon, the title company (Timeshare Title & More) did not review close enough, the closing docs received from the sellers. When TT&M submitted the papers to Disney for final review, it was discovered that a signature was not correct on the docs. The title company had to send the papers back to the seller, get them to sign correctly, get notarized again, submit to Disney again...... To top it off, the seller was behind in paying their MF's and neither Fidelity nor TT&M told me this so this delayed the transfer of points until the title company cleared that up!

I would use Sharon at Fidelity again but keep a close eye on the title company. I have used another reseller that cannot be mentioned on this site (mother and son company) and did not have a problem with them and they used TT&M as the title company for that transaction (Sep, 2009). I would not hesitate to use The Timeshare Store for my next purchase if they had the specific contract we were looking for at the time.

No joke, when I called in Feb, smack in the middle of "Beat the 3-20 rush", I got Sharon as my agent by chance. I asked her for an 200 pt SSR contract around the ballpark of $60/pt, she said she would look around for me. A hour later, she calle back with a 210 pt SSR contract offered at $53/pt (this is pre-3/20). My only problem was that it took 8 weeks to close the contract. (I remember it took less time to buy my first house). But you get what you pay for. At that price... can't really complain. No doubt that TSS' service is way better, but the price? Is it worth it? Only you can decide.

I too had a great experience with Sharon. I called Fidelity mid June about a contract on their web site and by chance Sharon Reper was the person I talked to. The contract I called about was already gone so she asked me what I was looking for and told me she would get back to me. On June 23 (my anniversary, Happy Anniversary to me!) she called me about a contract at BWV my resort of choice and it was a deal I couldn’t pass up. We closed this week on 7/26 & now I’m just waiting for the pts to show up in the DVC site. The whole process was smooth and easy, Sharon returned my calls and e-mails promptly as did the person I worked with at title company (First American, Cammy Smith).

I am very happy to say I now have an additional 150 pts at BWV w/Dec use year for $46 a pt. I was only looking for 100 pts but at that price the extra 50 pts will come in real handy, especially since we are expecting our first grandbaby! Can’t wait to take the baby to Disney :yay:

Ditto for Fidelity. I worked with Rachel during the 3/20 rush...I got SSR at $48 pp. And could not have done it without her. To be honest, TTS thought I was nuts for trying to get anything at that price and made me feel like they wouldn't bother to help me.

I would use Fidelity again. It was worth the wait.
