I decided to buy DVC resale this summer. It was pretty overwhelming trying to digest all the info, but thankfully mostly to these boards, I became educated in the ways of DVC and made the plunge.
I was contemplating between using Fidelity and The Timeshare Store. I heard all the pros and cons about both. In the long run I decided to go with Fidelity. The reason why I did this was because of price. TTS was great with their customer servce but overall the prices at Fidelity were significantly cheaper. My biggest factor was price. So I shopped for a contract based on price my budget of $7000-$9000. I was in the market for 150 points. I saw a contract for OKW at $48 pp, so it seemed like a good deal. However, my first choice was BW. I called Fidelity and by random choice my agent became Sharon. We talked very briefly and she described the contract that I was interested in in more detail. I put in an offer and she was to call me back the next day. She called me back an hour later to say that the sellers had changed their mind and pulled the contract back. She said she would continue looking for a similar OKW contract. Further discussions, revealed to her that my first choice was BW. She said she would see what she could do. Again, within an hour she called me back with a contract for BW that was better than the OKW one! I put in an offer based on what the seller was asking. 5 weeks later - Welcome Home - its mine!
My point of this posting is this; I wanted everyone to know that working with Sharon at Fidelity was a great experience. She was patient and knowledgable. More importantly she called me and emailed me back in very good time. At no point was I left waiting, or did I ever have to call her twice without getting a response back. Sometimes I would email her, and she would not only email my back right away, she would call me back too, to ensure I got her email. If I called her after hours (or on the weekend) and left a voicemail, she would call me back first thing in the morning.
Buying DVC, seemed to me at least, to be a big purchase and a little bit nerve wracking. Sharon made everything seem so much easier and put my mind at ease. I would definately use her and Fidelity again. The closing company she used was First American. I really didnt have to deal with them, as Sharon facilitated everything for me.
I am now in the process of buying another contract on behalf of a friend with Sharon.
