Few firsts, friends & H. P. an Oct. TR - New 3/4 - THE END...

Glad I'm not alone in being unimpressed with the new store. Its just not the same. I thought there would be so much more. Oh well.

On a side note- I am doing my next Disney Meet the 27th- can u make it? I haven't seen you in way too long!!!!!!

Hey Scotty,
finally got to your TR.
Swear to God, you are my brother from another mother.
Love POR.

Buzz and Linny look good.

Thanks for sharing NYC store with us. I made it to your great state, for about 4 hours, we crossed over from the Canadian side when we were at Niagra Falls Labor Day weekend. Paid your state for entering the Niagra State park, decided your State Park food was too expensive, so we left and told our GPS, to avoid all the tolls and made it out of your state pretty much unscathed.

We seriously were going to drive to NYC for New Years Eve, but our dd is working border patrol in (can't say where, or she will shoot me). So we are all visiting her Christmas week. Some day, but I'd rather be warm that freezing cold.

I agree a W.O.D would have been sooo much better !!!
yes it would have.

I will have to let you know. Been having medical issues and not sure if I will be well enough to go.

:welcome:
UH-OH better watch ourselves now. :rotfl2:
POR is great. Some issues though.
They did look great and were as fun as ever.
You should really come to NYC but not on New Years. CRAZY..
Thanks for reading.

As we left the area now we were heading towards Asia. Along the way we came upon.

5 minutes till the next show so I thought why not. Well Vinny thought otherwise. He hates birds. He says ok and we go in. We find seats. Looking at the stage

The ceiling.
Disney2010167.jpg

Pretty bird.
Disney2010173.jpg

So the story is this guy is the host.
Disney2010176.jpg

Then someone interrupts. I don't want to give away the whole story. it is a fun storyline. The guy in the back is the other main character in the story.
Disney2010180.jpg

Another bird (lots of pics of them).
Disney2010185.jpg

This is one part that Vinny gasped loudly.
Disney2010192.jpg

it happened at least 3 more times. He was really not comfortable there but lasted.

And with that the show was over. I really enjoyed it. I just asked Vinny and he said no. Glad we did though but will not do again unless Vinny is not there. LOL

Time to stop again.

Up next...

Lunch time, but where will we eat?

I'm sorry Vinny didn't like the Flights of Wonder show. We will be checking it out this trip. That eagle looks magnificent.

The walls at World of Disney are very cool! Thanks for the pictures. It did look crowded, and I am sad to hear that the merchandise is not WoD quality. For those of us in Nashville, with the nearest Disney Store of any kind 150 miles away, we'd be very happy to have it, but I can see even in pictures that it is not what you guys had before.

Isn't it interesting what different fears people have? There are several here on the DIS that are afraid of birds, and I've never in my life even thought of being afraid of them. I understand the fear itself, though, because of my dislike of closed-in spaces. The 'don't like birds' people probably don't know why I would take five flights of stairs on a bum knee rather than take the elevator. I'm glad you got to see the show. Some of those birds have such amazingly brilliant colors.

I'm not afraid of birds but my sister is TERRIFIED of clowns! She gets a clown birthday card from me every year hhehehehehehehehehehh.......:rotfl::rotfl2::lmao:

Fears are a weird thing for sure...I'm afraid of snakes as you may remember...

I am amazed that Vinny was able to stay and watch the show. I could not do it.

I have always wanted to see the Flights of Wonder show, hopefully I'll get to see it one day. The birds look beautiful.

I almost bought a little Disney Christmas snowglobe the other day.
I instantly though of MeMom and had a moment of feeling bad for them trapped inside.... and put it back on the shelf.

My husband won't even get off the train, he is so afraid that a bird will attack him. He waits at the station for me on a bench, while I go watch the show. So at least V. sat through the show with you. Kudo's!!

he is just paranoid of birds. If there 4 or 5 together on the sidewalk he will cross the street. The show was wonderful but they do fly very low.

What we have now is a regular disney store, WOD closed down. :sad2:
150 miles, thank goodness for disneystore.com
The birds were amazing, I loved the OWL.

OMG that is too funny :rotfl2:, but birds are scary:eek:.
it is funny but he is really afraid of them. ALOT

Fears r strange.
I was surprised he stayed but he was probably afraid they would attack if he stood. :lmao:

I do give him credit for going and lasting. It was not easy.

It was neat to see the pictures of the Disney Store. We recently went to the Disney Store at the Mall of America and I was disappointed in that as well.

I have to agree with Vinny that birds are scary, but my big issue is with bats!

thanks for the last chapter, i totally forgot that the flights of wonder was even there, i havent seen it for about 10 years at least now.

thanks.
:thumbsup2

Ha ha, that reminds me of the last time that I saw Flights of Wonder. The same thing happened with my friend. She was pretty much freaking out the entire time, and ducked for cover at several points! :lmao:

:rotfl2::rotfl2: We have not yet seen FOW. We will have to check it out next time. I'm impressed that he went in there and stayed the entire time even though he was scared! :thumbsup2

I only saw it once and I have to put it on the list fro next August as the Family has never seen it !!! DD says she's seen everything at Disney and I have plans to show her HOW wrong she is !!:rotfl2:

I'm in! Great trip report!

We loved FOW, but couldn't imagine getting my grandmother in there- she is terrified of birds as well :).

Okay, I would have been laughing about Vinny gasping over the birds. I take it, he is not a fan of "The Birds"? Poor guy -- of course, I am with MeMom -- closed in spaces creep me out, and people probably just shake their heads about that. We have never done Flights of Wonder -- I really must make a point of doing it sometime.
