Anyone been to Festival Bay lately?

When we went in April there was only about six shops open so could not tell what it was really like??

Is it worth the visit?

Lynda

We went in early July and there were a few more shops open but nothing to get excited about.

Didn't stay any longer than half an hour.

I wouldn't go back in a hurry, but it might be worth keeping an eye on developments?

Julian.

We went in May and it was a bit of a non event, Ron Jon's surf was due to open - I suppose it is now open, if it is that would be worth a visit otherwise I would give it a miss.

yep, we were there in May too.......got a cab there as we didnt have a car:( ...and then couldnt get one back to the hotel from the place!!!!:(

As others have said, hardly anything open at that time.....although Hot Topic has a great shop there:)

We went a couple of times in July. (Movie theartre is very good).

There are a number of shops open, however it is about a third of the available retail space.

Ron Jons is open and very nice to, if their are any sportsmen, (the American kind) the outdoor store, (cant remember its real name) is very interesting and large and there are a number of other general clothing outlets open.

Overall my view is it will be very nice as more oulets open but at the moment won't take you long to walk around. However ron Jons is worth making the trip for.

IMHO, this will be a bit of a treat when fully open (or at least 80% open by end 2003). Ron Jon's is always worth a visit, while Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World is just an amazing place to visit, even if you have no interest in huntin', shootin', fishin' and boatin' (!). It has some good-quality clothing (at good prices), too. Sheplers Western Wear is a fascinating store for all things Cowboy-style (and some great shirts), while Steve & Barry's University Sportswear is another surprisingly bargain place for clothes. Hilo Hattie's is all things Hawaiian, Candle Time beats Yankee Candle Co any day (for me), and the Cold Stone Creamery has the best ice cream in town! There are now 29 of the 42 outlets open, plus Vans Skate Park (also worth a look), while the 20-screen cinema complex is probably the smartest I have seen. I like the styling there, too, and if they finally get the Fuddruckers diner there that is supposed to open later this year, there will be great burgers too :teeth:

Hi,

visited Festival Bay 7 days ago, still loads of space for lease. IMHO about 25 - 33 percent of the units are let. It will be great when more shops open.

.....is this a new mall? Where exactly is it located? We'll be in Orlando beginning of December so it looks like it will be worth a visit! Thanks for any info.

Ann.

It's at the North end of I Drive (5250), just before you start getting to Beltz. On the RH side driving to Beltz. There is a skateboard park and cinema there as well. Trolley stop 9

Current shops open are

Bass pro - Vans - Hilo Hatter - Ron Jon - Steve & Barrys sportswear - Sheplers (western wear) - Charlotte Ruse - CineMark

Open 10am - 9pm Mon - Sat 12 - 7 Sun
