I am leaving for Disney on the 11th (yahoooo!!!:).
We are staying at Pop Century, but I am surprising my grandaughter with some horseback riding at Fort Wilderness.
I understand there is a boat that goes from the Magic Kingdom to Fort Wilderness. My question is would it be a good idea to catch the resort bus to Magic Kingdom and take the boat across (have never done this before, don't know how long it takes or how often they run.) or just go to any park and then take a bus from there to Fort Wilderness..
Our reservations are for 2:30 so need to plan my time. Am just telling her that we are checking out the resort..She's 11 so still believes her grandma :) I want to make sure I get there in time to look around and be there in time for the 30 minute prior check-in..

Thanks so much and sooooooo excited!!!!:banana::banana::banana:

The Tri Circle D trail ride check in is at the entrance to FW, so taking a bus from a park to FW would get you to the entrance fastest. If you want to look around FW before the trail ride, you can take the boat from MK to FW, check out area and then take the internal bus to the front entrance. I would be at the MK boat dock to FW (not the ferry to MK dock) about 1 1/2 to 2 hours before you want to check-in. My dd loves to go on the trail ride and usually does every visit. I usually bring a book to keep me occupied while she rides, there isn't much else near the entrance and I've not felt comfortable to take the internal bus for shopping as I'm not sure about the timing of getting back in time to be there when the trail ride is over. Hope this helps!

Thanks Tink.. that clears things up. I think I will take the bus to Wilderness Lodge and then do the ferry ride back.

You want the bus to Fort Wilderness Campground, not Wilderness Lodge. Two totally separate places.
