My first dSLR was an Olympus E510. I still have it but it's now my DS's (and currently a friend of mine has borrowed it).Pea-n-Me what olympus camera do you have?? Or have had in the past.
I upgraded to an Olympus E30 last year. (I would love to get an E5.)
I am planning to buy an Olympus PEN when I get some extra cash for times I want to travel light. (It has the same sensor as my E30 and very similar controls and specs.)
If you're looking for an older camera, the E510/520 has user friendly controls and small size. I was amazed how simple it was to use after using my E30 for a while. (Still there's a learning curve for new users.)
I'm sure no matter what you get it will be an improvement. Just know that today's cameras are even better but of course, that comes at a price.
You will probably not find an Olympus dSLR in a store to hold, they are hard to find. You may be able to find one one Craigslist or Amazon that you could try out to see how it feels and works for you (the advantage with CL being that you can go locally and not have to buy it first).
