Now, wait a minute. Didn't these people pay for their ticket JUST like everyone else?? I'm sure they let other families have a turn. I don't see any signs saying you can't stick your feet in there, so it MUST be allowed.

Yes, there are at least 3 drinking fountains there and I certainly hope not (I am sure it doesn't)

Even if this is something they do with regularity where they are from, all they had to do was look around and observe what others were doing.

Example:
If I notice a pile of shoes by my host's door and they greet me at the door sans shoes, common sense and common courtesy would tell me that I should remove my shoes.
