Feeling Hot Hot Hot! The Rain Curse is Broken! Two Weeks of Fun in the Sun! COMPLETE

RRR sounds amazing! It was just a few weeks away from opening (maybe less) last time I was there. I hope I'm still up for it next time we make it there. I love roller coasters but the older I get the more my body protests. :rotfl:

I love how empty Universal can be. It's like you have the place to yourself.

Bros got picked for another show! :cool1: Can't tape it sucks!!

The show actually called for three villains and so Alek and Erich tried to get me to volunteer too but I was having none of that! :scared1:

LOLOLOL!!!! So stupid that you can participate, but can't record the memories. :confused3

Amazing Updates Lessa !!I am not surprised the Bros were picked for the show:rotfl2:Also Finnegans is one of the restaurants I want to eat at next year!! I am definately getting a lot out of your report that is soooooo helpful for next year!!!:cloud9::worship:

Another great update! DS12 was chosen to play the young boy in the Disaster attraction. It's a great memory, but I really wish we could have taken pics and then gotten a copy of the video at the end that has him jumping from the burning building only to have The Rock miss him at the bottom. What a great souvenir that would be! The funny part is, he is so shy. When the TM said she was looking for a 10-12 year old boy, he raised his hand not realizing what he was doing, LOL and since we were standing right in front of her, he was picked.

I know! So stupid, I know we should care about living for the moment and not be stuck behind our cameras but having family participate in shows is something that people would want to record and look back on!

I am glad that my report is informative. :goodvibes We actually didn't really partake in much of the food offerings in the parks. Maybe if/when we go back we will try more of the in park offerings.

 Poor guy! It is too bad that you don't have pictures/video of it, especially as he is shy and it is not something he would normally volunteer for, makes it even more special.

Rip Ride Rocket looks like so much fun! It's such a cool idea to be able to pick your own music for it.

I bet Erich and Alek were great in Disaster. It seems like that would be right up their alley. Too bad there's no pictures, but I do think there's something to be said for just enjoying the moment.

Yeah, it is true that you shouldn't always view everything through your camera lens, still disappointing though that there is no way to record a family members participation in a show. :sad2:

May 18th continued

After Disaster! we backtracked a bit as Alek and Erich had seen that there was going to be a Blues Brothers show in the New York area.

We found the area for the show and caught what looked like a pre-show.

The guy in front of us was really getting into it as you can see in the video! He was a real fashionista as well!

We ended up not staying for the show, not sure why, I think it was because we were all hungry.

We made our way back to the San Francisco and Amity area to find some grub.

We decided to try Lombard's

Sadly it was not open yet so we continued on in search of food.

Before we found food we came upon Jaws so we got in line for that and put off the search for lunch.

The ride was fun although a bit dated. I actually read recently that Universal is shutting it down. I wonder what they will replace it with?

There were not many food options in the surrounding area, just ice cream, funnel cakes and hot dogs. We decided to split a funnel cake to tide us over. We decided that we would just power through the rest of the park and eat at one of the restaurants out in City Walk once we were done.

There were a bunch of tables near the Jaws exit so we grabbed one and chowed down on the funnel cake.

We then had to take the traditional (not so traditional?) Jaws pictures.

Some kids saw Alek and Erich doing this and wanted to climb inside/on Jaws too. Their parents were not impressed.

Your brothers are such bad influences... :rotfl2:

Love your Universal updates... My kids enjoyed Universal so much they want to go... After seeing your pictures and reading your TR, I kinda miss it to...

That they are!

Writing about Universal makes me want to go back as well. It won't happen anytime soon though, we have other places we want to travel to and other financial commitments. :guilty:

I remember the first time we took our oldest son on Jaws...he screamed and cried...it was hysterical. My DH read that they were closing it and replacing the area with something to do with the Transformers, perhaps?

 Poor kid! That is okay, Alek used to scream and cry whenever he saw a character.

May 18th continued

We left Amity and crossed over to The Simpsons Ride. You have to cross a bridge which provides you with a nice view of the San Francisco/Amity area and also of Men in Black and The Simpsons.

First up was The Simpsons Ride which used to be Back To The Future. Mom opted out of this ride as the motion of it would have made her ill. This was the first line that we encountered that day. This is where all the people were! Even so the wait was not too bad.

The idea behind this ride is that Krustyland has just opened and Sideshow Bob is taking this opportunity to kill Bart Simpson. It is a really fun motion simulator ride and I can see why it is so popular. If you are not familiar with the Bart/Sideshow Bob story there is a cartoon video at the beginning explaining the basic back-plot. The ride is enjoyable even if you don't know the storyline.

After the ride we went over to Men In Black. This also had a bit of a line but not much of one.

Apparently as we were walking through the queue I cut a lady off from her group. Alek and Erich said she was making faces and gestures at me the whole way through the line. I don't understand why she would do that, not like I cut her off on purpose! You start off in a big room where there is no real line and then you are herded into a hallway, very easy to accidentally separate somebody from their group. All she had to do was tap me on the shoulder and explain what had happened and ask to pass me. Instead she opted to make rude gestures and faces at me. :confused3 I was unaware this was going on until we got off the ride and Alek and Erich told me (they had been walking behind us). Oh well!

The ride was really fun, you can compare it to Buzz Lightyear but amped up! You go through the ride in your ride car and shoot at aliens and get a score. Lots of fun!

Afterwards we had to backtrack through the Simpsons area to get to the rest of the park. Before leaving we had to check out the Kwik-E-Mart.
