I'm planning a trip next year for one week by myself and leaving teenage daughter home. One minute, I'm excited, one minute, I feel guility. If I gave her the choice, I believe she would not want to go and since she has been so moody the last year, I would rather her stay home.

Well, if it's her choice, what can you do? Did you give her the choice of going with you but going off by herself if she wanted?

Oh wait. I just re-read and you said "if" I gave her the choice. So give her the choice and be guilt-free.

Do not feel guilty!!! I have dreamt about a solo WDW trip for years, and the first opportunity I get I'm doing it. go and have a great time:)

Remember the adage, "the more, the merrier!" I don't have a DD but personally, I could not bear to leave behind a family member.

I went last year for the first time alone. I felt extremely guilty, until I got there, then I forgot all about it...well until I would see or do something I knew they loved. It made it easier that we went back a week later with the entire family. I would not feel to bad. We all need sometime to recharge our batteries, and let our hair down. There will be other trips...for now enjoy this trip.

Don't feel guilty about it at all! It was her choice not to go so you have no reason to feel bad about it. Just go and have a wonderful time!!

GO GO GO. Life is so short Your daughter will be fine, I am sure she will take trips with people her age and not think for a moment about taking you. :D

but then again a trip to disney may be the thing your relationship needs.:)

I'd love to go to WDW alone. I don't see that happening anytime soon (especially since my ds announced to me today that he really likes Mickey Mouse:) ).

I have been 'dreaming' of an Adults Only trip ever since 1991 (my first trip to WDW)! We've gone 3 more times since then with 1 or 2 kids but, I've never seen any Night Life besides the bunk beds at HI or sharing a bed at CBR or, wherever! :( I don't think I've ever felt regret about Wanting to spend some Adult time away from my kids but, it IS hard to actually PLAN it!! I still am looking forward to and planning on a non-DIS, adult-only, WDW trip for DH & myself (sometime soon, I hope)!! ;)

I envy the Adults that are able to travel alone or, as a couple. I have wished for this for over 11 years.

If you ASK your DD and, she doesn't want to go, will you feel better? I hope so!! Enjoy!!
