Feel so lost

My dad died 2 years ago and it was like a part of me was ripped from me. My ex husband came to the funeral and it meant so much to me. I can see why having your friends ingore you in your time of need hurts so much.

My mom is dying from cancer. My step daughter has not acknowledged her illness, and it has been going on for 5 months. Mom gave her some furniture just before she got sick, and she hasn't had the decency to visit her while she has been ill. She gets mad at someone in the family and stays away for months at a time, but Mom has never been anything but nice to her. It eats at me but I have to keep telling myself it is her problem.

I'm glad you have other family to support you. Concentrate on finding some friends who respect you and forget about the old ones. Everyone needs friends who will be there in times of need.
