Feedback on my choices

Looking for some feedback on our restaurant choices, we have a trip planned for the end of March, there are 4 of us - DH, DS12, DS9, and me! We typically take smaller trips each year when we are in FL visiting family and then about every third year we do the big on-site trip and this is the year (postponed from last year).

We are staying 2 nights at Swan and 4 nights at the Contemporary, 4 of our days are park days and the rest are pool, mini-golf, Disney Springs, etc. When we are at home we frequently visit restaurants (even during COVID) so my kids are comfortable at restaurants, plus they are older now, although our food choices tend to sway towards non-adventurous (burgers, steaks, tacos are regulars in our rotation). I love a good appetizer menu and beer list so that helped influence my choices. We will have a car and are planning 1 sit down meal per day (dinner), breakfast will likely be in our room, and lunch wherever we can find it.

Day 1 - non-park day - Geyser Point Bar & Grill @ Wilderness
Day 2 - non-park day - The Edison @ DTD (this one I am most on the fence on but we have already done Homecomin', Morimotos & Frontera Grill)
Day 3 - AK day - Yak & Yeti
Day 4 - Epcot day - San Angel Inn (on the fence here too, I think the kids would like the atmosphere but Epcot has great counter service)
Day 5 - non-park day - unsure here but want to ride on the Skyliner (if open) and the Three Bridges Bar & Grill at Coronado Springs looks intriguing
Day 6 - MK day - Skippers Canteen (if we can get it, if not probably just counter service)
Day 7 - HS day - Sci-Fi Drive-In (if we can get it, if not unsure)

Appreciate your feedback!

I's say you have a good solid plan. Great choice with Geyser Point, had our first time there on our February trip and completely understand why it's so popular.

Just based on my personal bad experience at the Edison I'd suggest maybe checking out The Wave at Contemporary, though that's at easy one when you stay at the Contemporary, but could be a fun non-park trip too. It was one of our best meals and wish we'd gone back.

Y&Y is great, another AK option worth looking into is the Satu'li Canteen.

San Angel Inn probably gets the most consistent negative reviews, last time we ate there was back in the 90s so I'm going on what the team at the DIS and others have shared. Great interior just medicare food. Lots of good options, and with the festivals there are great small plate options. Might also check out Regal Eagle BBQ.

I assume you know that the Three Bridges Bar isn't on the Skyliner route, but just making sure.

Since you're staying at the Swan, what about some of the places along the Boardwalk? We really enjoyed Trattoria al Forno for breakfast on our last trip - and though I haven't personally had dinner there, it's on my list for my next trip.

My kids are the same ages as yours.
I second axing the Edison, not really a family restaurant. Boathouse is always fantastic, our kids love sitting outside on the dock, March should be a great time for this.

Il Mulino in the Swan is really good, much better than trattoria al forno for dinner. We love trattoria al forno for breakfast though.

So San Angel is just okay. I cant say we've ever had a bad meal here but just okay meals. My kids and us adore Via Napoli in Italy.

The only other thing I would suggest is you have Geyser point on day 1 and MK day on day 6. Not sure the order of your stay but logistically these would both be ideal while you're at CR. So if CR is your 2nd half then maybe move Geyser point to day 5. Then you just ride the boat right over to WL.

Also as mention above, it wasn't really clear but just making sure that you know CSR is Not on the skyliner, CBR is. Primo Priatto at Riviera gets great reviews and would be on the skyliner. That might be a fun first day thing.

Great plan and selections! I would be very tempted to do Whispering Canyon if I were at the WL. Although, Geyser is really good as well.

Another vote against Edison. Raglan Road might be a good alternative--live music, but a little more geared towards families.

San Angel Inn is not my favorite food-wise but it does have a nice atmosphere. There are so many better restaurants in WS I just can't recommend it. Get tacos at the Cantina quick serv for lunch and try something else for dinner. I'd vote for Via Napoli, Le Cellier, Biergarten or Teppan Edo (note the last two are a little more adventurous food-wise, but my kids are very picky eaters and they still love both because of the entertainment--plus, makes us feel like we are getting more of a "world showcase" experience).

I would skip The Edison. I've heard great things about The Boathouse, and Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar would be a fun atmosphere if you went earlier in the evening and could make a meal out of their taco/flatbread choices.

For day 5, if you want to ride the skyliner, head over to The Riviera and eat at either Primo Piatta or Bar Riva! Really delicious food, and a lovely atmosphere in the evening -- plus you MUST see the beautiful murals at that resort.

San Angel is one of the best choices right now because it gets you into the pyramid without queueing due to capacity, which can get long. We’ve had a couple meals there and it was better than advertised IMO. But then again I’m happy anywhere that has chips + salsa and the La Cava Margarita. You could always share a few apps and leave some room for snacking around the WS.

Boathouse is a great alternative at Disney springs. Sitting outside on the water is so nice.

Choices look good otherwise! For your Skyliner day I second the suggestion to check out Riveria’s food options. Otherwise there’s always Beaches & Cream which is accessible via Skyline and short walk to Beach Club.

Thanks, everyone! Think I will definitely be taking a look at dropping The Edison and San Angel Inn and see what else might be out there. Appreciate all of the suggestions and note about the Skyliner, I definitely had my hotels mixed up!

That’s the new WDW experience. They want take things away and cut costs, I’ll be in the same camp spending more time at my resort and less time and money in the parks.
Yes. Just a little jest there. I too enjoy spending time throughout the resort.

Okay - just to provide an opposite view ---

The Edison - I went with a 16, 14, and 6 year old - and they like the place. Not only did they enjoy their food - they like the atmosphere (all boys). I admit the youngest was primarily attached to the game on a phone the whole time. Yes - its about a 1920's themed bar - but there was lots of cool stuff to look at. They liked the darker atmosphere.

San Angel Inn - so - yes - this is just barely average Americanized Mexican food - but you mention that tacos are a go-to for your family. The setting is fun. And its a break from burgers and pizza that your kids like. I'd keep it.

Now Yak and Yeti - unless your family loves Chinese food - I think this is not worth it. I think Satuli's, the marketplace in Africa, and Flame Tree BBQ offer such great, unique QS options, not sure I would bother with this. The food is fine, but the QS place out front serves the same stuff for the most part. Frankly, the only TS at AK I think are worth it are Tusker House and Tiffins, and TH is currently closed. The QS choices at AK are great, though. If your family if willing to be adventurous - you could drive over to Sanaa.

If you are purposefully going to ride around on the Skyliner - I agree with the picking a place in the Boardwalk area!

Skipper's and Sci-Fi are favorites of mine, too. I think QS at HS is bad though, so if you don't get Sci Fi - maybe have your TS be a breakfast or late dinner that day?

Keep in mind that Geyser Point is a QS, so you'll need to arrive via Disney transportation. People not staying at a resort and that do not have an ADR at the resort are not allowed in when arriving by car or rideshare. I'm also not sure if Geyser Point is mobile order only, but I would assume so since its QS.

We enjoyed a drink at the Edison. The atmosphere was cool and the food looked fine, but nothing about the place had me wanting to return. I think there are better places at Disney Springs. We really enjoyed the new Wolfgang Puck on our last trip.

LOVE Yak & Yeti. Keep that!

San Angel Inn is meh for me. Never my first choice. We really love Biergarten, and would like it even more now that its served family style and there are no communal tables. We also had a great meal at Teppan Edo in October, which is like a dinner show in itself. We did share a table with another family, but there were two empty seats and a plastic divider between us. If you're considering counter service, just take note of what is open. So many are operated by third parties, and I don't believe they're all operating at the moment.

As PP mentions, Three Bridges at CSR is not on the Skyliner, but if you want to just ride the Skyliner, you could always exit at DHS and then hop on the Coronado Springs bus. If you're wanting to eat somewhere on the Skyliner, Riviera has some great options. We also love Beaches & Cream at BC, which is easy to get to from the Epcot Skyliner station.

If you can't get Skippers at MK, Liberty Tree is our favorite. And if you can't get Sci Fi (also our first choice), we love 50s Prime Time as well. IMO, Sci Fi and 50s PT are two of the most uniquely themed restaurants in WDW.

Consider splitting the burger if you order it at SciFi. My adult sons said the burgers are huge and they wish they had split.
