Why do people have to give everyone such a bad time about spelling. After all this isn't school and you can almost always figure out what the person is trying to say without making them feel horrible about their spelling. We are postitng what we are having for dinner not taking a spelling test.

I understand what you are saying but the fact is, IMHO, a post that is RIDDLED with spelling errors shows a lack of consideration for the READER. I am focused more on how the message is coming across rather than what the message IS! The individual in question admits she cannot spell and I was sharing a tool to help her out. I had been using MSWord for spell checking because until recently I didn't know DIS had one.

BUT many of us have many childern around us while typing messages . TO me a chat place is not a place I would even consider using a spell checker . YES if I was writting something to my sons school or to important person I would spell check everything and then usually have someone eles even read it with me . But on a message board I do not see the point .

BTW were are your Menus ???????? Like its been posted be for if you have nothing to say that is nice do not say anything at all !!!!

Download firefox, it will spell check in the reply window for you. All incorrectly spelled words are underlined in red. Just click on them and you are now spelling correctly.

I use firefox at home but othertimes I cannot and the built in spell checker is not avaiable with all browsers.

BTW I have put a few days menus here and showed that all of us do not eat bagels, hot dogs etc. every meal.

Look this whole conversation could of been taken to Private message and be more considerate of the persons feelings who missed spelt words. It turned out more then being rude to her and others. This is something that the moderator's have pointed out over and over. So if you want to complain about spelling or what someone feeds there kids take it to private.

I just read this and thought i share it because some feel others don't get enough fruits and veggies and thought it was interesting myself.

Nine servings may seem like a lot, but a serving isn’t all that large. In the vegetable category, one cup of leafy greens, ½ cup raw or cooked veggies, or 6 ounces of juice count as a serving; for fruit, it’s one medium piece, ½ cup fresh, frozen or canned, ¼ cup dried, or 6 ounces of juice.

I myself at times wonder what a serving would be hope this helps anyone that questions anyone's servings.

oh and BTW about the spell check if its something you have to download my Dh would never allow it .
:rolleyes1 Nothing personal, but if you're competent enough to help run his household and raise his children, shouldn't you be allowed to decide what to do with your computer?

Lunch

We all had leftovers from last night (I didn't post yesterday's meals). I adapted a Cooking Light chicken piccata w/ summer vegetable pasta to fit what veggies I had ripe---zucchini, yellow squash, onion, garlic. It called for half the squash plus red pepper and cherry tomatoes. Whole wheat pasta, some good grated parmesan (less than recipe called for as it was all I had), fresh lemon. The recipe has been added to my binder :) Anyway, free 'cause leftover
peaches, 3, $1.00

Dinner

grilled turkey burgers, $1.66
wholewheat buns from Pepperidge Farms outlet, $0.25

3 Minute Maid frozen lemonade, $0.38
micro popcorn (dd12), $0.25
peaches, $0.67
sun tea, $0.20

We were going to have a peach crisp after dinner but it got to be too late to eat it, so that will be our breakfast for tomorrow :)

Total for today: $7.47

Milk at my gas station is $2.39 every time you buy 8 gals or more. You can buy 2 gallons at this price. They are supposed to mark your receipt but they don't. I usually get more later in the week on the same receipt.

Total 7.45 We go shopping this evening after church so we are eating what we have left .

I am not trying to snarky in anyway, I was just wondering. I know you said that you cooked three huge "leg quarters" last night, and tonight you had three legs leftover from the night before. What other parts/pieces are in a "leg quarter"? I usually eat breasts only, so I do not know what other pieces are cut with a leg?

I believe the legs she is talking about are sometimes called "leg quarters". They are the drumstick, thigh, and sometimes include part of the back. Occasionally, I'll see these as low as $0.29 per pound, when purchased in a frozen package of 10 pounds (other people may have different deals that they find).

While you can use them whole, what some people do is, separate the drumsticks from the thighs and use the different parts in different meals. These leg quarters can be huge--certainly 1 per adult is plenty, possibly too much for some. I don't care for this particular cut because I don't like getting the back bones in my food, but this may be chef error. You can't beat the price, though.

yes its a leg a thigh .... Also please note it was just me and 3 small kids (8,4,2) for lunch I had one my DS had another and my DD's both shared one plus we had left over noodles and green beans PLENTY for a lunch. My DH brings his lunch with him but most days he forgets and just eats when he gets home . This is his choice .
I will also say this when you HAVE to be on a budget the cut of meat become less important I would love this dish with Chicken breast but thats not in the budget ! Yes we have it on hand but its not used in ever kind of chicken dish I make .

As far as back bones in your dish ... I cook mine 4 hours in a crockpot then take chicken off thigh park and leave the meat on the leg part . It falls off the bone and is very yummy . THen I cook 2 more hours .

But yes for 11 pices of chicken leg quarters for 5.00 its a great price !

As far as the computer issue . Yes I run the household BUT my DH is a computer person and I would never think to ruin his toy . I am sure there is something in your household that Dh would not want to breaking (golf clubs , guns , fishing pole , boats , cars what ever it is I am sure you know ) .
