Bah. You do fine. The hog nose thing just gave us a much needed (for me, anyway) little laugh. :) Besides, you can't be expected to spell correctly and be pregnant at the same time. Being pregnant excuses most everything. :)

thanks :) It was a good laugh ...hehe

now I must go fix my total for the day . Hope everyone is having a great day .

Sarah

WOW! Where are you still getting milk for $2 a gallon? Oh how I miss those days around here. We are up in the mid $3 range. :sad1: And it only lasts for 2.5 days, but even still--do you have any tips of where or when to buy it?

I wait until it goes on sale-it tends to be a loss leader somewhere about every other week. Then I buy as many gallons as we can drink before the expiration date. So if you go through a gallon in under 3 days and it doesn't expire for 10 days, I would buy at least 3, possibly 4 gallons (sometimes this takes 2 trips through the line as stores tend to limit loss leaders). Last week it was Meijer, this week it is Kroger. If I still have milk, I wait until the last day of the sale to buy more and take into account what I already have at home. It takes planning and knowledge of what your family will use to make it work, but I very rarely pay more than $2 per gallon, even though the regular price is up over $3.

Huh. I am going to have to watch more closely for this. I don't know though--MN has a law that milk cannot be a loss sale for stores so maybe that is why I am not ever seeing it for a good price. Walmart usually has the lowest price as they sell their brand at cost and they are up well over $3 right now.

Milk is almost never a loss leader here -- maybe once a year. Prices are now closer to $4 a gallon than $3, and that includes at Walmart and Aldi.

The 7-elevens and mini markets compete here with grocery stores for milk and bread sales i can if i want get milk buy the gallon for 1.99 at 7-eleven or the mini market at times.

Want to know what I did today .... I forgot to turn on the crock pot with our dinner in it . HA

So tonight we had left overs
kids all had 1 hot dog , mac and cheese and DS had pork and beans
Me and Dh had brats each 2 of them and then we all had small salads
I will change my total and add dinner to Tuesday as I WILL start it this time...LOL

Since you said you did not turn it on, does that mean it sat in the crock pot on the counter? How long did your dinner sit in the crock pot? If it was not in the fridge then I would not eat it.

It was frozen chicken with a lid on top it was still ice ice cold when I figured it out . I saw it about 1:30pm I put it on at about 10:30am

Sarah

Yep the only fruit we had was the bannana's yesterday . Sunday is my day NOT to cook dh dose all the cooking and sorry but veggies do not go with mac and cheese and pork and beans . The kids usually sleep threw snack and usually so do me and Dh . Breadfest is fast run out the door to church and lunch on Sundays is usually left overs . Oh and they did have yogurt as well .

But all in all I do not worry about food on Sundays .

Sarah

We never have macaroni and cheese without a vegetable. Then again, for us macaroni is always a side dish, never a main course.

We tend to have mac and cheese (only baked never boxed:cloud9: ) with collard greens, cabbage or green beans and baked ham, chicken, turkey or pork chops.

Funny, did the exact opposite I forgot to turn down my crock pot before I went to bed. Even black bean soup can turn to a solid mass when cooked on high for 12 hours with rice in it :rotfl2:

I don't make homemade mac and cheese . Not that I don't like it its just something I have never made . We eat it as a side dish as well but I like it with pork and beans and we always have it with either hotdogs or hambergers from the grill and DH makes it . We usually have it 2 times a month cause we have one of those dinners every 2 weeks .

Get this - I don't like homemade mac and cheese. I only like Kraft. People think I'm weird, but I just don't like melted cheese dishes. Blech.
