How busy is it during President's Week in the parks? Talking with someone recently and they said they would never go that week - waits in lines are 2 hours long. Is this true? Is it really that bad? Is that week in Disney versus the week in Massachusetts worth it? Thanks for your opinions!

Oh my God! We went this time and we felt like a hurd of cows! It was extremely busy, more than Spring break this last March. I vowed never to go that time again. A lot of schools are off that week, especially in Florida!

Yes, it is pretty crowded, especially if you are used to non-peak times. Not Christmas crowded or July 4 crowded, but there are plenty of people around, especially over the weekend. By about Wednesday it starts thinning out.

So - Do you think if we went down on Thursday of the vacation week (2/23) and stayed through the weekend, the crowds would be more reasonable? Any opinions on this revised plan? Thanks!

Based on our experience, I think that's true. When we were there in 2004 that's exactly what happened...by Thursday the crowds were much lighter.

I was there this past February for Presidents Week, the beginning of the week was pretty bad. But by Wednesday or Thursday, it was manageable. A lot of schools are off that week, so be prepared for big crowds. I definitely would rather be at Disney World with crowds, as opposed to being at home.

Actually a lot of schools in FL only have off that Monday of President's day. Our county has a teacher planning day the Friday before, otherwise the kids have school that week after except Monday. Many schools in the northeast, especially in NJ have off that week.
