February- President's Week

We are going Feb. 16-22 and so excited! It's our first time "home" - although we are using developer points!!!!.

So this question won't change my mind but how busy is it that week? We usually go in Sept/.November and last year we went in April (vacation wk - though).

Plus is it warm enough for Blizzard Beach?

It doesn't matter if its busy we'll just go back to SSR and hang at the pool or go to DTD - after all this snow in MA it will be good just to get away from it!!!!

Well, Pres. Week is busy. Not as busy as Christmas or Easter, maybe even Thanksgiving, but it may be next on the list.

It's busy. I wouldn't do the parks but it wouldn't stop me from going to SSR. There is so much to do outside of the parks that we love those trips.

There is a viewing deck at the Comtemporary to watch Wishes. Go to the Poly to watch the Tiki cermoney, electric water parade and fireworks. Watch a movie by the SSR pool or go to BCV, enjoy the campfire and then the movie on the beach. Do the Welcome Home Wednesday at the BW (once is enough) to get a DVC cap. Take the walking path to OKW for breakfast and check out the Tree House Villas. Oh my, there is so much to do. Horseback riding at Fort Wilderness, fishing & surrey bikes. And don't forget your discounts at DTD. We're going in March... that would be 52 days... lol... can't wait...

I just wanted to add that we have gone Pres week for a few vacations. We enjoy the temperature differential between Western NY and FL. Right now 20 feels warm!! We find the parks busy but doable. You just need to play it smart. You know the drill - go at rope drop, do popular rides first, use FP wisely, leave when it gets busy for a break in the afternoon, have your ADR's, etc. Sunday and Monday are the busiest and it gets better as the week progresses.

We will be there President's week also. Expecting some crowds but if the ease by which we just got our ADR's is an indication, maybe it will be less crowded than we expect. Called today for ADR's every day, Mon-Fri. Could have had almost any choice on the days we requested for Boma, LTT, and others. Was expecting more of a challenge, but pleasantly surprised.

We have 6 teachers in our family and have been at WDW on President's Week for many, many years. Amazingly, I've noticed that TouringPlans.com predicts much lower crowds this year than on years past. When it coincides with Mardi Gras it is a nightmare. Mardi Gras is the next week this year.

They just increased some of the park hours and added some spectros/Fantasmics to Presidents Week. I don't think it will be as quiet as I was originally thinking.

Thanks. I changed my ADRs because they cut Fantasmic and park hours back previously so I'll have to look at that again.

We are going the 15th-22 . This will be our second trip during this week so needless to say we had a great time. The only tricky thing is the weather. Plan for everything from 60-80.

We'll be there 16-19 for a short trip due to the outrageous airfare from LI. Look for us hanging out on our Boardwalk View balcony!!

Hello I'm new here,and I will be there the end of President's week. We arrive on sat. I hope its not too crowded then we are only staying 3 days.

Welcome to the boards. The end of the week probably will taper down? We aren't coming home until the 22nd so thats what I'm hoping for.

Lady V - I don't think anyother part of the country has vaca during that week. NH has the wk after President's week. So, you should be golden. Have fun!!!

DS#1 programmed his itouch to the weather in Orlando - that's my boy! and its going to be 80s later this week - lets pray for awesome weather!!!!

jpolak - thanks for the tips. We've never been in Feb. It was colder than normal when we were there in April 2008- and we all started out with sweatshirts in the am and then took them off later in the day. I really want to go to Blizzard Beach since we haven't been there - hoping for warm!!!

Thanks. Now that DS#1 is in high school we will never be able to travel in the "off" season and never in April again (d/t Lacrosse season) so we probably will spend the next few Feb. Vacas at WDW. I think we'll feel the same way - we won't be bothered d/t just being away from Snow and Cold and being in Disney!!!! 21 days WOOOO HOOOOO!!! You lucky duck - 10 days. I was feeling good at 7 days.
