February 8th 2014 Disney Fantasy Eastern Caribbean Cruise Meet

Hi there!

Since I am a night labor and delivery nurse (I am currently waiting for my pt to deliver as we speak ;)), the majority of my posts will be in the middle of the night.....its a fluke if I post during the day (daylight burns my skin haha)

We usually just wear pirate themed t shirts, but this year all seven of us including the baby, went all out and we looked great!! I had the lifetouch photos of the kids taken that night!

I am all for a valentine themed exchange of some kind, so count us in for that as well!

Well I guess we can understand your late night posts, as long as you're not secretly a vampire:rotfl2:

I hope you don't have alot of trouble being up during the day on the cruise!

Kathy

Heading out to Epcot this morning.

Hopefully when I get back I will see someone has posted a question for the day:goodvibes
If not I will post one,

catch everyone later.

Shannon I did add you to the valentine exchange list:thumbsup2

Kathy

Back from a day at Epcot. beautiful 75 degrees there today. We took photos of many of the topiaries. I will share a few later after I get them downloaded.

I didnt see any questions posted so here is another one from me.

Do you like the Rotational dining on Disney?
I believe they are the only ones who do this.

My answer: Yes

I love having a different dining room each night.

I do like this and love that your servers follow you. I will say that having great servers can really affect your experience (if you let it). First cruise our servers were ok at best. Didn't really have any of that "disney magic" you hear about. Brought the food and drinks ok but didnt interact much with us - especially with the kids. But, it was our first cruise and I didnt think much about it as I didnt have anything to compare it to.

On our second cruise we had awesome servers who were great with the kids. We were at the same table with a family we connected with on the DIS (another single mom) and they had requested a specific server who they knew was great. It really made a difference in enjoying our dinners :) They did a great job and were really awesome with the 4 kids at our table - especially the main server. He was training the assistant who was a little slow but was nice to look at ;) so we didnt mind.

Good morning everyone!! (to us night dwellers, that is :lmao:)

I have never had difficulty making the transition for nights to days. I usually take a week off before our vacation to make the switch. We always go for two weeks, with a combo WDW/DCL vacation, so need all the energy I can get!

It is a full out blizzard here in Colorado Springs today and can't wait until spring!! I've had enough snow for this year:cold:

DD19 and I have come up with all kinds of decorations for our two staterooms! Valentine's lights, magnets for the doors, heart this and heart that

I am soooo excited we have all these events planned! We will also be doing excursions this time around since it's our first Eastern. We stopped doing excursions (other than parasailing on Castaway Cay, which is a MUST) about two cruises ago. We have been on four Westerns and did all the excursions in the first two! So we just stay on the ship until Castaway Cay! 2008 was a double dip AND Christmas.....by far the best cruise we went on, to date. ;)

Well, time to pull myself away for the laptop and fireplace and get ready for another night of babies, babies, babies!!:cutie:

Shannon

Question of the day:

We LOVE having a rotational dining plan. We have loved all our servers other than the cruise of 2010.

It's so exciting going to a different restaurant every night! We are a big group, so usually sit by ourselves. We sat with a family on very first cruise and found it awkward, so we are okay with it just being us. We do plenty of socializing and mingling in other aspects of our cruise! :thumbsup2

Shannon

We love the rotational dining! Always fun to change things up.

Agree that the servers are amazing, the servers on our last cruise were so good that I am scared no one else will compare.

We are off to Magic Kingdom this morning, I will check back this afternoon to see if there is a new question of the day posted.:goodvibes

Have a great sunday everyone,

Kathy

How many cruisers are planning on combining this cruise with a pre or post trip to the world? (Details Please)

Our Answer:
We are planning 7 nights pre-cruise p at BLT. So if we look exhausted on the first day you will know why.

We are just doing the cruise. After all we are at WDW almost every weekend.:goodvibes

Kathy - reading your trip report is so fun (on the trip report section). Thanks for posting - especially all of the pictures. It is so cool to see the Fantasy from your viewpoint.

Question of the day - not this time. We will probably have to fly home the day we get off the ship or the next day.

Thanks,
I wrote that months ago and someone read it recently and posted a comment which put it back on page 1 again. I was really sruprized to see it being read again. :goodvibes

We might spend Saturday night after the cruise at Disney. It is really going to depend on the flight times available to us for our flight home. I'm crossing my fingers that a Sunday flight will work out better for us!

We are planning on 3 days at Disney before the cruise. Just enough time to do our favorites! Any advice on the best transportation to the port? I don't want to wait on the shuttle/bus service through Disney!!

I forgot to answer what I'm looking forward to....

This is our first Disney Cruise.....I've been on one Princess cruise when I was 22 and a Royal Cruise Line when I was 20....so firstly, I'm looking forward to not being the youngest person on the ship who isn't part of the crew!

Mostly though I'm looking forward to spending some quality Disney fun with my family. Poohcandi is my SIL and we've never been on vacation together so I'm really happy we are doing this.......plus the kids will have their cousins with them!

We are staying at AKL for a week before the cruise.

I would be very interested in the Ladies only meet. I am not a crafty person and I don't collect pins so those ones I won't be able to attend. :bitelip:

I posted on Facebook regarding this as well but has anyone got an idea for a group name?

Good morning!

We plan to stay at WDW five days prior to the cruise at WDW...probably All Star Movies. We like to stay prior to because it's too hectic following the cruise. It's nice to relax on the cruise of the go go go of the parks! :crazy2:
