yup I'm really excite for a back-to-back, then if there is any questions that you all have you can ask away before leaving I know I'll be doing a live report from the ship

Okay so here is one that I dug out of the photo album and scanned... We were on Princess's Golden Princess this time. That is the Magic right beside us!!

I don't remember what port this was in... I know this was on our Eastern Trip( and last cruise) ...Nov 2001. Maybe someone can tell me?

Anyways I remember asking people at the end of the day as we all headed back to our respective ships "Is Disney fun and is the price worth it??" We got a resounding "YES" from multiple familes!!
An yes of course we were jealous of the cool horn as they pulled out ahead of us....

And yes I was freezing cold, but I was determined to enjoy the deck one cold and windy morning!!

That's great DmMarla! I was hoping you or Dave would be doing some live reports on your Feb. 21st cruise!

Just wondering if any of the other DVC members know why my DME luggage tags say DVC Hold on them?

I have never seen that before! Ours always just had the name of the Resort we were staying at. I would probably be calling to check on it. Sure wouldn't want your luggage to get misplaced before the cruise.

It's really beginning to sink in for Johnna and me that this cruise is going to happen -- soon. I am big on getting the kids excited for things as well, and as as I remember, last time (it may have been the one month mark) we work Hawaiian short and Johnna decorated a couple of walls with palm trees or something tropical.

My thinking is always that the week is SO short that you have to do something to extend the enjoyment.

So -- how are you guys planning to spend our last month as "land-lubbers" before the cruise?

First, I have to make sure the farm bookkeeping is all caught up and my regular massage clients are taken care of. Then, I'll spend time on the fun stuff...making door signs, going thru my clothes, shopping...The last week, I'll go get a pedicure and maybe, a spray on tan!!!!! DH leaves all the preparations and packing to me.

I'm with Donna - door signs, packing - and more packing and shopping then packing what I've bought - and definitely a pedicure! Some nice bright color for the toes!

But not with the spray-on-tan - Donna, I've heard they can smear or run if you get them wet too soon? Has that ever happened to you?

And when do we get our cruise Docs????

I've been MIA from this thread for a really, really long time. But now...we're back.

Anyone else book the cat 12 gty? If so, let us know when you get your room assignment.

We were originally booked in a Cat 9, but the cost savings was substantial, so we changed to a 12 gty and we'll keep our fingers crossed.

Yesterday we booked our sailboat tour on St. Thomas and have decided to rent a car and check out St. Croix on our own.

Only a few more weeks!

This Land-Lubber is going to TRY to get rid of some of my "land FLUBBER"!!!!!!

I am on my pre-cruise diet as is Ron..but only he is doing SO much better than I am!!!!!! I tell him for every pound is looses it makes me look that much heavier...SO KNOCK IT OFF!!!!! LOL!!!! Infact he is at the gym right now, and I....am sitting on my butt in front of the computer enjoying our VERY SNOWY day LOL!!!!!

Today the girls are having a SNOW DAY/ NO SCHOOL !!!!
They were so excited when they found out...
SO... maybe I can get them to pick out/try on clothes they want to take.
I keep thinking I'm going to start making my cruise pile, of things I plan on taking so that last week won't be so CRAZY...but I have yet to start it LOL!!!!
Today MAY be the day

And YES the Pedicure/Manicure is a Cruise must for me!!!!
As far as the tan goes..I have already started hitting the tanning salon, I know it is REALLY bad for you, and as a rule I don't normal do it except for getting ready for a Tropical Vacation in the middle of winter

This weekend I spent most of it checking and re checking packing lists and I went through my closet and put aside stuff I want to bring. Then I made a list of stuff I need to buy. Loved it!

OH! Then I looked at maps of St. Croix and St. Thomas and St. John and tried to figure out what I wanna do on each of the islands. That was fun! I ended up cancelling our excursion for the Buck Island snorkel tour and booked the Trunk Bay excursion on St. John instead! The pictures I looked up of Trunk Bay had me sitting in front my computer with my mouth hanging open. It looks so beautiful!!

I wanna get a mani/pedi too! I probably should get a spray tan cause my legs are so white, they're pink. Not cool. But I'm hoping a week in the Caribbean will help me get some color! My family always makes fun of me cause of how white my legs always are. I'm light skinnedededed like my daddy. So I'm hoping I tan a little, not BURN.
So if you guys see me, make sure you got your sunglasses cause I might blind ya!

I'll be spending much of this month planning DD's 5th birthday party. We are going under the sea for a theme. I'll forsure be getting us girls a pedicure, will be Ally's first. I'm sure she will LOVE it!

Hi Kids...well...back to work today, YEAH! Everyone is already giving me a hard time about having had 3 weeks Xmas break, getting sick last week, and then turning around for a 3 week break in Feb/March. Ah well.. someone has to try and revive this economy.

So...how will the time go before the cruise? This is the last week/weekend to finish getting the Christmas stuff repacked/organized and up to the storage garage, then next week we're off to Sylt (an island off of Germany in the North Sea) for a weekend of seafood and windy walks; then to London for a Friday the 13th "The Night They Murdered Love" pub crawl with my bestest Brit friends (13 pubs in 13 hours...loser is the one who can still walk at the end of it). Then on the 18th we have to help start Karneval celebrations (German Mardi Gras) and on the 19th we fly over to Orlando... so... it is upon us! ARG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 20th is a party with family and the 21st we start our cruise vacation with Mickey!

So how am I spending my last month before the cruise? Working evenings this week, new batch of students starting today. I will alternate between evenings and days each week. On the 21st we drive to Calgary, and fly to Orlando on the 22nd for 5 nights at WL. On the 27th, the rest of the gang flies into Orlando and we stay at the MCO Hyatt the night before the cruise.

Another surprise is in the works as well. The evening before the cruise, we are taking everyone to Medieval Times in Kissimmee for dinner and the show. The only ones who know are myself and Joanne (yep, another secret from our poor, uninformed kids ).

At some time in the next month, I hope to finalize a packing list and start packing stuff beforehand. Jo is a notorious last-minute packer, which drives me crazy.

Dave, where, in all that partying, do you manage to find time to work?

I will NOT be doing any pre-cruise dieting (I don't really need to), NOR will I be tanning. If anyone has a problem with glare off my fish-belly white legs and stomach, they can put on their sunglasses...

Johnna--DD just got a spray on tan last week before the wedding she was in this weekend. They told her not to shower for 8 - 10 hours and it turned out good. I might be crazy but I'm going to take a chance and get my first one the week before the cruise.

So what does this cost? I was thinking about getting a sunless tanner but I know how awful some turn out and don't really have the time to research them again. I used to use them a lot several years ago but had to try them out in the winter to see what they did to me to be ready for summer. I don't feel like doing that now.

I am spending the month working overtime to make sure everything is done and that I have plenty of time to take off!

DH and I went to the store and got him 2 new suits, he didn't own one and I have 2 nice dresses, one for formal and one for semi-formal, so he didn't want to look weird standing next to me on his slacks and polo shirt didn't want to be outdone.

They have a bogo offer at Men's Wearhouse, so we got them at a good prize plus a bunch of dress shirts and ties (buy one get one half off), I think he is set on the business wear front for a while.

I am trying to loose some of my flubber as well, don't want to traumatize fellow cruisers too bad... or get thrown overboard when someone thinks poor Shamu somehow managed to flip over to the deck and needs rescuing by being thrown back into the ocean

wow guys... pre cruise diets, spray on tans... sounds like an awful lot of pressure. Some advice... forget the diets, you're about to take a cruise where food is one of the main events; give yourself a break!

Forget the spray tans! All those chemicals can't be good for you and pale is just a lighter shade of tan anyway.

Feb IS going to be fun... and in hindsight perhaps a bit ambitious, but those London pub crawls are just TOO good to miss. Sylt is a Christmas present... and with the way the economy is going, we may not be able to take trips later in the year...so might as well have fun now!
