February 28, 2009 Bushwacker Banditos Magical Cruise

I am actually trying to figure out if I can start packing yet. Oh wait - perhaps I should focus on getting all the Christmas decorations away first. :rotfl2: Seriously - they are 80% away; just the villages are left.

And I'm trying to get post-cruise parties planned and out of the way. Our annual St. Patrick's Day bash :shamrock: will be the Saturday after we return;

Just leave the villages up and throw some "Lucky Leprechauns" and a fee shamrocks around the houses and WaaLaa you're ready for your St Patties Day party!!!! LOL

Dave like Wanda said... you are the "Cruising King"!!!!!!!:joker: I couldn't find a king so the Joker will have to do LOL!!!!!

Awesome!
Cool blog btw, love the twitter balloon, might have to get one for myself, but right now I am hooked on facebook.

Ouch! so cold where you are!
FL is sorta freezing on my part (Tallahassee), so we are a bit at a loss on how to keep warm, everybody is trying to wear layers and some are failing miserably. We are never ready for actual "cold" :confused3 :rotfl2:

We wouldn't last a day up North.

Just a quick note to say "good morning." About to head off for a "brisk" walk with Prince - in 12 degree weather.

Ugh.

How many days? Let me just click "submit" and I will find out.

Mark

P.S. - brrrrrrrrrr

P.P.S. - the Director of Public Affairs at DCL read my blog post (http://www.intersectionofonlineandoffline.com/i-love-disney-ok-there-i-said-it/) and sent me a nice note.

We were in the Bahamas 6 years ago this month, and that was the last time it was this cold (2003). It was about 60 degrees there - that was the high temp. There was a native woman walking to work in her scarf and gloves and hat. No kidding.

I was happy to be wearing capris and flip flops in 60 degrees. I guess it's all about perspective.

Have a great day everyone - I'm sure I'll be on the boards later. Johnna :wave2:

:lmao: That's just how it is here. The temperature dips below 70 and people freak out. They bring out their space heaters and fire up their fireplaces.

When I first moved here from Spain I was used to the bitter cold of winter lasting months, so I would make fun of Floridians and their inability to cope with low temps. Now after 9 years I have gotten used to the warmth too, even the sauna this place turns to in summer, the first 2 years I couldn't be outside too long it was like swimming instead of walking there was so much humidity :scared: . I get sick when I go to places with low humidity

I don't even own more than 3 sweaters. I have a scarf... somewhere... I think... I know I have some globes, but I always end up having to borrow my mom's or my dad's when I visit them in DC :rotfl:

OMG I have turned into a Floridian :rotfl2: !

Oh yeah, DH let me know he booked us at the Pop Century the day before the cruise :cool1: it is my favorite value, I love slurpees, so they have me hooked with their slurpee machines.

We will be driving to the port from there rather early so we can enjoy the ship from early on.

At first I thought we would have to drive ALL the way back from the port to home on debarkation day, but a friend decided she is having her b-day party that same Saturday and she lives in the Orlando area, so we will be going to her place, partying that night and staying over until Sunday afternoon.

Somehow this trip is already shaping up pretty nicely. DH's b-day is just a week after that, so we will be surprising him with a cake at that party as well. Two years ago I made a reservation at Crystal Palace for his belated b-day (he was sick as a dog on the actual day), and he got all misty eyed when he saw I had sneaked around and told them it was his day and there was confetti, streamers, a b-day card and a cupcake waiting for him along with Pooh and friends.

I can't wait, February can't go fast enough!:cheer2:

Oooo La La! Heat wave today in Missouri!!! Temps in the mid 60s. :sunny: Gotta work hard this morning so I can go out for a run/walk this afternoon! I'm such a wimp--can't exercise outside if its below 60 F. Maybe I'm a Floridian at heart???????

Good morning everyone! Just popped in to stay in touch...

Dave, is there a cruise ship you HAVEN'T been on???? (besides the Titanic, I suppose...) Good Lord, man, I can only DREAM of doing a fraction of the cruises you have. :boat: You are indeed the Cruise Joker!!! :worship: :worship: :worship: :joker:

Mark, I read your blog and really enjoyed it. Our weather has turned on us again too. Four gloriously "warm" days and now we wake up to -30 windchills again

ChocoKat, I remember my first time in Florida. It was November of 1984 and we were on a deployment to NAS Jacksonville, so a few of us went to Daytona on an off day. It was about 65 degrees or so and the locals were all in jackets and here's the crazy Canadians playing frisbee on the beach in shorts and t-shirts. :lmao: They probably thought we were nuts!!

...so DD mentioned AGAIN yesterday that we really need to plan a trip to Disney World because "we already went to Disneyland, Daddy... and we are going on a Disney Cruise... but Disney World is way better because there are four parks, and water slides, and animals, and lots more princesses, and there is lots more to do. Why don't we go to Disney World, Daddy?"

Joanne and I are having a very hard time keeping a straight face when this happens. In ONE MONTH, we check into the Wilderness Lodge!!!! :dance3:

Have a great day everyone!!

John

I love that you are hiding the pre cruise trip from your kids. Boy will they be suprised. I love the WL. It is my favorate resort. Wehrm it come to the weather, man talk about a complete 180. Only kid 60's with rain and it is my day Saturday from work. After 11+ days of 80's this sucks.

Donna - I just told my friend - who wants to start walking with me in the evenings - that I refuse to exercise outside until it is AT LEAST 50 degrees. So there are lots of us "floridians at heart" out here.

John - SO COOL about your surprise. You are totally going to be "the best parents EVER" to your kids when they learn of it. :cool1:

See...told you I wasn't done for the day with these boards. As it gets closer, I can't help but get on here many many times a day. Luckily our workplace doesn't block "unapproved" sites - I'd be in BIG trouble if I actually had to focus on working all day long. :rotfl2:

Ciao for now, Johnna

I would guess real soon. Yesterday I received my Magical Express tickets and luggage tags from the hotel for the night before. I'd guess the cruise line isn't far behind the resorts on sending that out.

Ooh! I am going to be so excited when we get ours!
Now... where did I put my passport?! :rotfl2:
