February 28, 2009 Bushwacker Banditos Magical Cruise

wow guys... pre cruise diets, spray on tans... sounds like an awful lot of pressure. Some advice... forget the diets, you're about to take a cruise where food is one of the main events; give yourself a break!

Forget the spray tans! All those chemicals can't be good for you and pale is just a lighter shade of tan anyway.

Feb IS going to be fun... and in hindsight perhaps a bit ambitious, but those London pub crawls are just TOO good to miss. Sylt is a Christmas present... and with the way the economy is going, we may not be able to take trips later in the year...so might as well have fun now!:coffee:

You are right, just want to make sure I let myself have a bit of wiggle room (literally) on my clothes so I can still fit on them when we disembark :rotfl2:

I have been looking forward to this trip for so long, I just can't believe it is getting so close. I really have to thank you all guys for all the help getting ready for this trip. I am not stressing out at all even though I left DH to plan the whole thing and I am normally the planner freak.

I can't wait to be on board and trying to meet you all. I really hope to see you guys there :wave2:

Now back to the grind, I am lucky I love my job, the days pass by soooo fast!

Oh yeah! And it is time for me to start thinking about a couple of door signs.
I am a graphic designer by trade, so I need to step it up :rotfl: I think I have some ideas, I'll post stuff as I go just in case you guys would like to use whatever I come up with.

Know what you mean Mark... the budget freezes have hit my companies and no one really knows when training budgets will be freed up again. BUT... this cruise is paid for SO... gonna go, gonna have a blast, and not gonna worry about what I can't control.

Right now I'm praying that I don't get laid off. It's kind of a buzz kill for the cruise.

Sending good vibes your way Mark pixiedust: . This economy is really hitting everybody hard.

Since I just started this job 2 months ago I am so nervous that they will decide to let me go first if there are really dramatic budget cuts :scared: overall since I really like it so much. I have at least 6 friends in the same industry that got laid off in the last 3 months, but they worked for the private sector and that one is the worst hit for graphic designers. So far most of them were able to find good jobs and it has come to them like a sort of blessing in disguise since they feel way happier where they are now, so don't despair, you never know!

But like Dave says we already paid for this trip, so whenever I think about it I just check my worries out the door and allow myself a bit of pre-trip bliss.

Hang in there!:grouphug:

I am so happy I do not have to worry about this at least this year. Our CEO has already said no lay offs this year. As a matter of fact the company is trying to give us a raise but our stupid union wants more. I will be happy for anything more than what I have now. Now the wife works for a non profit student loan company. She is another story, but we just go day by day. We do not worry about stuff we can not control

Woot! Just got our travel docs today :cool1:
They came by when we were at work, so DH just left to pick them up.
:cheer2: Soooo pumped!!!

Let's make it clear - Mark is not worried about his job; I think that was a response to Mark's message. Mark has his tenure with the Government, so he's pretty secure.

Fairfax - it would be a buzz kill for anything like that to happen; I hope for your sake nothing like that happens before the cruise...or at all actually. pixiedust: Only good vibes and pixie dust for you.

So what does this cost? I was thinking about getting a sunless tanner but I know how awful some turn out and don't really have the time to research them again. I used to use them a lot several years ago but had to try them out in the winter to see what they did to me to be ready for summer. I don't feel like doing that now.

$25

ChocoKat--That would be nice if you could make us a sign for the Bushwacker Bandito Cruise that we could all print off and put on our doors. Someone, maybe you or Rookie Mouse came up with one a long time bac. I believe its posted on this thread.

I found the link Wanda posted for the Bushwacker Bandito sign. It is http://www.4shared.com/file/68918345/6de11ad0/Bushwacker_Banditos.html

False alarm on the travel docs, it was something DH ordered for me though, he says it's a surprise so he won't let me see it.

Found out he filled all the forms online already as well. He is a man on a mission :lmao: !

Elastic waistband! Why didn't I think of that? We could all get them and call them our "post cruise pants" :rotfl2:

I'll make sure to share whatever I can come up on the sign front with with everybody, my brain is already on idea mode, we'll see what transpires :thumbsup2

My father in-law is going to be in St Croix when we arrive, so now he is adamant that he will come to the port, pick us up and give us the grand tour :drive: I sure hope he understands we need to get BACK into the ship on time and he doesn't kidnap us to the other side of the island for hours :rotfl: I love my dad-in-law but he is bananas. I might need to establish a search and rescue party :lmao:

:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:
Too bad I'm not the DisBoards Tag Fairy. Wish I could get her to see this one. LOVE IT!!

Oooh who is this tag fairy, do tell!

In other news...

:cheer2: The Cruise is just one month away!!!:cheer2:

This calls for the office chair dance for me.
Watch out!:cool1:

Thanks! It's pretty gloomy around my office. We've talked about not going on the cruise but it's paid for and I'm not sure if we can even get any of our money back at this point. We'll deal with the rest as it comes. I envy those of you with secure jobs, of course I used to think mine was secure, too!

As for getting ready for the cruise, I am the scary pale, the whitest person on the planet -- I use lots of fake tan. I am the only one who leaves the cruise paler than when I board! I use Jergen's Natural Glow for fair skin, I've tried several but this one looks the most natural.

Good Morning Everyone!!!!!!!
Hope everyone's Wednesday is off to a good start...... It is cold and windy here today, was suppose to go out of town today for Emily's Ortho. appt.
But had to cancel due to the weather, blowing and drifting snow, in fact the town we were headed to canceled school again today!!!!

I can SO relate to the Scary Pale skin!!!! Have it myself :sad2: and sadly I have passed it on to Emily..she is always thanking me for it ;)

Sorry to hear about all the job concerns...that really is a worry, I'm sending pixiedust: pixiedust: to all :)

Johnna LOVE  the Elastic waistband concept!!!! I was just looking through a catalog the other day and and saw a pair pants that has a hidden stretch waistband that they claim will forgive up to one size..I told Ron that those would be GOOD cruising pants!!!!!:lmao:
I'll take one in EVERY color Thank-You!!!!!!:rotfl: :rotfl:

ChocoKat...Is your FIL vacationing at St Croix the same time we are there or does he live there???????? Pretty cool that you will have your very own private excursion waiting for you!!!!

Speaking of St Croix I'm sure you all seen this over on the main board but just in case someone missed it I will post the link..... http://www.virginislandsdailynews.co...me?id=17632535

They may now be more organized...but we may have mad taxi drivers at the Disney Passengers for complaining LOL!!!!!:scared1: :scared1:
This Sat is the 2nd trip to St Croix so we will have to watch for updates from them...hopefully they will come back with much better reviews!!!!!:thumbsup2

It was me who posted the potential door signs a long time ago. I am not a graphics designed by any stretch, so if Chocokat wants to improve on these - have at 'er!!

Here is a repost:

The first one was the "serious" original, while the one below it was more for Brenda, Johnna, and Tink. The more I get to know you gals (and Ness and Wanda and Choco...), the more appropriate it seems. Now we just have to figure out who is who in the picture... :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Happy Hump Day everyone. One month today!!!!!

John

John those are fun!
I like! I think I wanna get divs on Jasmine ROFL

My FIL lives in St Croix, but travels a lot since he is a welder by trade and needs to get jobs at different construction sites, sometimes he spends quite a bit of time in FL and TX.

I think we might do an early morning tour, then meet up with him back at the port afterward so we can explore and have some food, then get back on the ship. If I am not back with a bushwhacker on hand by 4 someone alert the captain and let him know we have been Shanghaied :scared: . ROFL

OOH OOH OOH!! I wanna be Aurora! She's my most favoritest (<---my new word) princess in da whole wide world! princess:
I apologize for the noogie to whoever is Alice... :rotfl:

And I'm Belle because... well, I certainly don't want to be Alice (thanks Ness!) and because my kids agreed that when I make silly faces, that's usually the one I make.

And... I am wasting a perfectly good opportunity of an ice day (a snow day due to ICE) to sit on my A$$ instead of pulling out cruise clothes, making lists, etc. Maybe I will work well under pressure - like two weeks before we leave instead of four... Yeah, that's it. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it. Story... get it. Ha ha.:rotfl2:

We DID however, watch Pirates of the Caribbean. I can't believe I'd never seen it before. DD was a little scared of the skeletons but she got over it. Now to wait for #2 from Netflix. Maybe that will a be pre-Superbowl family activity. ::yes::

Ciao for now... back to doing nothing... :faint:
