February 27, 2011 - 4 Night on the Disney Dream!

Setting sail with you guys! :cool1:

I chose this cruise because it's the wdwradio.com podcast cruise with Lou Mongello (author of WDWTrivia books)...didn't know if my fellow cruisers knew this or not. ;)

if you are interested, go to wdwradio.com and go onto the forums and introduce yourself on the podcast cruise thread! The more silly happy Disney fans, the better!! :goodvibes

Anyhow, there's going to be 8 of us in 3 staterooms and we are celebrating 2 anniversaries and 1 birthday while onboard! :thumbsup2

Anyone thought about organizing a FE exchange yet?

Just had to say HI from a former Buckeye...(I may have said this on the Radio forum already!) I grew up in Lakewood....

Thats funny, we originally booked 12024 but I moved it forward.

Would you guys like to say 3PM to tour each others 1BR cabins?

We have one of the virtual port hole rooms if anyone is interested...

I am so interested in seeing one! As we get closer, we should figure get a list of all the particpating staterooms and get it finalized.

I'm in for the FE exchange and would love to tour the 1 bdrm suites!! We have a 1bdrm on our upcoming cruise (NEXT WEEK!!!) but we opted for the inside stateroom on the dream. We have other family members going too and I don't they wanted to splurge on a nicer room, plus I'm totally digging the virtual porthole! If I can re-book the cruise while on the wonder for a cheaper rate, I'll probably do that and ugrade as long as the other family members don't mind.

Fox, you may have said hello on Lou's site but I haven't been on there in a loooong time :confused3

We're almost down to only 1 year to go!! :rotfl:

Just so you know who we are,

I am Jill, DH is Tim and our boys are Merrick (3 at sailing) and Reagan (1 at sailing.) Jim and Jeanette are my parents and will be in 5678. Drinks will be had by all...well, minus the boys:goodvibes. Bring on the Konk Kooler!!!!

This cruise already sounds like a blast! Can't wait to meet everyone! I'm Blossom and my best friend Laura is joining me.

Happy Weekend! I really could use a cruise today. Well, I could use a cruise any day! In fact Palo chocolate souffle sounds amazing right now. But apparently we have one year, one month and four days. I am so not counting, though!

We are also booked on an August cruise for this year on the Wonder. We've not done Palo...but this time it is on the list of must do's! I cannot wait to try that chocolate souffle!!!:cloud9:

Lucky! Yeah, the souffle is just sick and wrong. And lovely. Okay, now I'm gonna raid my pantry for some chocolate.....

Hi all! We are also booked on this cruise! We are not first-time cruisers but have not cruised w/ DCL, so this will be our first time. We will be traveling w/ our 3 kids (will be ages 3, 5, and 7 at time of cruise) and this will be their first cruise ever. Also traveling w/ us in an adjoining stateroom will be my parents. We will be on deck 10 in a deluxe family stateroom w/ verandah. So excited but can't believe we have to wait over a year! The new ship looks amazing!!!:)

Welcome aboard! :dance3:We're planning kind of a "tour" of each other's staterooms. Would love to see the family suite. Are you in?

Hello! DH and I just booked this cruise for ourselves and can't wait! The new ship looks amazing! The aquaduck is spectacular!

We are currently booked cat 11 GTY so since we are traveling childless this time I am hoping for some pixie dust to upgrade us to something! Does anyone know if Passporters Guide to DCL has written about the DREAM yet? Or anyone that has published anything yet?

Anxiously counting the days!!!!

I know that the new cruise passporter will be coming out around May. It's in preorder now. I'm sure some info will be included, but I think it will be more in depth for the 2011 version.

Stacieps, we are also in central NH (Laconia). Vacation is late next year. We actually ended up paying less when we switched dates. 1 year to go!!

Count us in for an FE exchange! We are fans of Lou also. Looking forward to a great time and meeting some new DIS and WDWradio friends!

We are going also!! I can't wait this is our first Cruise on Disney and we can't wait. We have a group of family and friends going. We have booked a family cabin with a balcony on the 6th floor and my parents are 2 cabins down from us. My husband and I have 3 boys ages 4,8 and 12 and we are expecting another baby in Sept. But don't tell anyone!! We haven't told anyone yet. I have been trying to get over the shock first before I tell and I need to be able to deal with the fact that it is probably not going to be a girl!! So we will see.... I am a little nervous about going on a cruise with a 5 month old but my parents say we have to break the baby in so I have to agree with that.
We are going to go to Disney for 5 days before the cruise so we are excited about that to!! My boys LOVE disney. My 4yr old is Mickeys best friend so he can hardly wait but a year is a long time for a 4yr old.
I would love to do the FE also if someone would explain how it all works. This summer we are going to start on our door decor so we will be ready for that. We have been on 6 cruises but this is all new to us but we want to do everything!! How does dining work? Is there a theme night? Is there a formal night? If so should I dress my boys in tuxes? We already have them if needed. Also does anyone know about the family cabins with a balcony? Are they much bigger with more storage? Sorry for all the questions I just feel the need to know everything!! I don't want to be unprepared. Thanks for listening/reading!! Thats all for now:rolleyes1

There is an FAQ for Fish Extenders (FE) somewhere here! We bought ours off ebay about 2 years ago. Its pretty simple. Before we leave for the cruise, we gather the SR ## of those who want to participate. Then, at your convenience during the cruise, you drop the treats off in the particpating cabins FE's. We gave decks of pirate playing cards for gifts and got everything from handmade magnets, wine charms, candy, pencils, wipe boards and fun little trinkets.

Dining is rotational each night, meaning you alternate the restaurants each night. Upon boarding, you are given the rotation for your cruise and you show up at your dining time at that nights restaurant and thats it! The current 4-nite cruises do not have formal nights, and I would anticipate that to remain the same on the new ship. So no tuxes needed. Right now on the 4 nites, they have pirate night, and I am hoping they keep in on the new ships!

And as far as the staterooms, none of us have seen them yet! I don't know if you can gauge the amount of storage from the floor plans on the DCL website, but that is all we have to go on since this new ship is still being built! On the Magic and Wonder, storage was okay, but not great. We seemed to always end up with a suitcase stored in the corner of the verandah.

This forum has a FAQ on the top of the page that may be able to answer some more basics or give more detailed info than I gave, but some of it is still up in the air because this ship will only be about a month old by the time we set sail:banana::dance3::banana:

Hey, is anyone hitting the world after for the Princess Half marathon weekend? I am *thinking* and I sooooo stress THINKING about doing the half...for sure the 5k at least....

Just wondering if anyone else is!

I am considering it, if it's the same weekend as this year. It would be my first race EVER, and I would like to do the half marathon. Good thing there's over a year to prepare for it!
