2021 is great ! You're near enough to the elevator for convienence but not too near to be bothered with noise. Also you're right down from Ocean Quest !! Does Josh know about that ? My Grandson, Jack, spent so much time there. We always knew where to find him !

Hi!

I just checked and found that we received our cabin assignment. It's number 8012. Can anyone provide any information on that particular cabin?

Thanks so much! I'm so excited for this getaway.

Talray...8012 is near the forward elevators. It's always exciting to get your cabin assignment !!

Ocean Quest is not one of the clubs. All of the clubs use it. The hours are varied. They usually have the hours posted on the door. Anyone 8 yrs and older can use it ( 8 yrs and younger can use it w/ their parents ). It is mostly used by 10-12 yr olds. You don't have to sign in or out, but there is a counselor there all the time. And they have the capibility to page parents if necesary. Sometimes I'd call down there to see if Jack was there. There is a nav bridge like simulator, very authentic like the actual one on the ships' bridge. There are other video games and an area with sofa and chairs. Just a nice supervised place to hang out.:cool1:

ive seen people talk of calling dcl and paying their gratuities and putting extra as an onboard credit before they go. then this is paid for and less
to have to stand at line at guest services for. do any of you repeat cruisers do this??
is it advisable??

I asked this on the other thread you started, but I"ll ask here too.

Where on the DCL site is the SR#? Is it off to the right side in the little box? I can't even find mention of what category we booked (6 GTY) and I can't remember where the SR# showed up the last time we were waiting on a GTY assignment.

We always pay our tips before the cruise. Just call DCL and they'll help you with that. I don't know about putting moneytowards your onboard acct ?

Go to DCL, then Already Booked , fill in your Res # and DOB, then look under My Reservation and you'll see cruise, ship, sail date, stateroom:)

what im planning to get are 10-6"by 8"photos with boarders. that was $84.95. im not sure if this has gone up.
first night on board i was going to buy my package
please correct me on this
we have to go to shutters each day and find the pictures taken that day and tell them if we want to buy any and they will subtract that off the total pictures in our package. do we take the picture then or give it back to them and pick up all ten at the end after castaway cay pictures are taken so we can get a couple from there.
shutters seems to be the thing i dont understand even though ive tried to research it. all help appreciated.

Joanne... Yes, you purchase the photo pkg, then each day check w/ Shutters to see your pictures. If you find one you like, take it to the desk along with your pkg card. They'll deduct 1 picture and you can take it with you. I usually bring an 8x10 padded envelope to protect the photos.

Don't forget, if you see a photographer,ie, at the pool and you want your or Josh's picture taken just ask. You are never obligated to purchase any photos. In fact, if you buy a pkg and you only select ,say, half the pictures you'll get money back.So you can't lose.

What some people do is stack their pictures together if they're not sure which ones they want. That way, when they come back to Shutters the next time, their pictures will be easy to find. It'll make more sense when you see it.

I always add addtiional funds to my onboard account so that the last morning of the cruise I am not "shell shocked" by the bill! Call the same number you would to add a gift to your stateroom. The money will be added to your account and you will receive a confirmation note in your stateroom when you arrive or shortly after. For tips I have envelopes here at home with the amount written on the outside that would cover that particular person. I add cash to the envelope a little bit at a time until the total amount is acheived, then I just transfer the cash to the tip envelopes on the last night to distribute. The crew members seem to always appreciate receiving the cash and by accumulating the money a little bit of time it makes it easier on the pocketbook to pay. We always have extra cash with us to add extra funds for those crew members who deserve more than just the standard tip.

I am also happy to report that our gty cat. 7 was upgraded to a cat. 4! :woohoo: Everyone should check their cabin numbers carefully to see if they too received a magical upgrade. This is the biggest upgrade we have ever received! The category of cabin will remain what was booked but the cabin number will indicate the actual cabin you will be in. Good luck!

Wow... ok, so when you just enter ressie # and birthdate (or at least when I do) it dumps me to my cruise plans, and when I click on my reservations it makes me enter my ressie # again, so I just assumed it was some sort of silly menu page that was useless. However, after re-entering my info, I got the page with the reservation info. BUT... before I figured this out, yesterday I looked at the Castaway club portion of the website to see what cabins we had been in in the past, and I noticed we were assigned for this cruise (and the one we have booked in May 2011). We've been upgraded to a Cat 4 as well... Seems like the pixie dust is flying for our cruisers here!
