February 25th Magic Cruise Board

Laying in bed this morning, i realize............
THE ONE SHIRT I HAVE DONE..............I PUT THE WRONG YEAR ON IT!!!

AM I AN IDIOT???????????:scared1:

So i just tried to fix it wont know til it dries if i am actually done with one shirt or not!!
uughhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

UGH!! I hate that for you. :sad2:

We just got back from a day trip to the Tanger Outlet mall, where the crowds were 1 out of 10. ;) Practically everything in the Disney Store was on sale, and we were able to get Lilia's princess dress for dinner at Cinderella's Royal Table, all accessories (including two pairs of shoes), an Ariel plush doll (because I am a total SUCKER), three pairs of pj's, two pairs of sweatpants, a pair of mittens, a Jack Skellington tee shirt for Tim, and a Minnie Mouse sleep shirt for me...for under $140!! :woohoo:

That is so not the type of thing I would usually post (an entire shopping list), but I cannot believe how much we got for the price. After looking at Disney Store online last week, I went in there with that dollar amount as my budget for just the dress, shoes, and accessories.

Seven weeks from tonight, I will lay down my head for one last sleep before heading off to Orlando. SEVEN WEEKS, PEOPLE! There aren't enough dancing smilies to accurately convey my excitement.

That is all.

I hope everyone had a great holiday and Happy and safe New Year! I just did the online checkin and got a 12-12:30 time. Didn't think it was too bad for this late in the game. With the holidays and being sick and work, I totally forgot. We are up for a meet! Let us know when and where and we will be there. I believe we will also have matching shirts (I'm working on it!). Going to start getting everything together for the trip now and getting excited! welcome to the new comers and looking forward to meeting everyone!

Well back to focussing on what's truly important....Disney and cruise!:rotfl:
I reviewed my list of 'To Do's and got giggly thinking about the preparations and planning. I am sure this can't be normal that the prep and planning for the holidays stresses me out but even the idea of planning and prep for a Disney vacation is euphoric :hippie:! But hey, 'normal' is totally overrated
I am getting my FE stuff together now and having a ball. I hope you guys like them, thought i would go with a Maritime theme, princesses and pirates for kids. Beads and beach glass:dance3: Is there any allergies we should be aware of when putting pkgs together?

My kids are a little young for the webpage/facebook link up but my 6 yr old is very excited about the prospects of mtg other star wars and lego fans his age. I am also onboard with the neon green mickey tags for identification onboard, not sure my DH is gonna go for the matchy shirts. Although I may strategically get us all in similar coloured shirts, just lay out the clothes and pack the rest ....... "oh hon, I didn't even notice :confused3" :thumbsup2

Hi all ... started reading the board tonite as we just booked ourselves on this cruise last week ... we have yet to tell the kids but and looking forward to it. I notice some people keep mentioning how many rooms are available ... is there a way to find out if there are any suites or concierge rooms available in hopes of an upgrade? Upgrade or not we are all very excited as this is our first cruise ever.

Thanks for joining. This is our first cruise as well! I think you can call the cruise line to see whats available. I think a lot of us are waiting to see if they offer anything or ask about an upgrade once we get there and are checking in. The pros may be able to answer this a bit better than I, though. We are excited for the cruise as well as winter has just hit us here and will be in full swing once we leave for Florida! I see you are from TO as well, are you flying out of Pearson? oh, and how old are the kids?

The best tip I e er received was a harsh "book the room you'll be happy with. Upgrades are rare".

That being said - the low category rooms are more likely to be purchased last minute. Sometimes to make more of these rooms available people will get bumped to the next category. On our first cruise my brother was bumped from an inside cabin (gty cat 11 or 12 I can't remember) to a porthole room on deck one. One of the rooms with the small double portholes.

When you are checking in you can saki if there are rooms available for a paid upgrade. I

I'm still looking for a pre cruise email buddy for my dd14. Anyone out there fit the bill?

Imadjen and kbmo4444- judging by the number of emails my dd11 was writing last night I think that there has been success in the "making new friends" department!:goodvibes

I agree seems like a perfect match:thumbsup2

I have not Called DCL, But as far as i can tell and from asking on the Cruise Board and looking at the cabins online, No there are not any Suites or Conceirge rooms still available. They were gone way back when we booked ours.

Of course as Fieste said, book a room to be happy with.....BUT i also go hoping for a cheaper upgrade, i mean why not:confused3, not like i am going to NOT GO ON THE CRUISE, if i dont get an upgrade:rotfl2:, I just always hope for a little pixi dust.:wizard:

RIght now we have a porthole room, we started with an inside, but i knew i wouldnt be REALLY happy.....and it is our Honey moon. We are now thinking of upgrading to a higher deck. It is only $120 to mve from deck 2 to deck 5-7

AND WELCOME TO OUR MEET THREAD!!!!!!!!!!

SHIRT HAS BEEN FIXED!!!

And started on another one it will be done today!!!:banana:

Make a Wish called me and they were able to book Cabana #1 for us, so if anyone wants to stop and meet Sydney come on by:) Im having Mickey call Sydney a week before the cruise!!
I doubt we do any port adventures..so costly! We will probably stay on ship, I have a massage scheduled for Mom and I did add parasailing for my son(12) Mom and husband tho at CC.
Going to do some research so I can send ahead the FE gifts to my room. I also wanted to get my port arrival time but states that since we are staying at a Disney hotel we can arrive anytime:)
Hoping to surpise my family and upgrade so we can all be in one cabin?? Well off I go to order a FE extender and Minnie outfits for Sydney.
Does anyone have a son close to Seths age?

yes, my girls can't wait to continue the discussion but I think we've run out of time tonight......Do you think we should start a kids thread? Let me know and I could give it a whirl...

I like the ides of the kids thread. Give it a whirl, or I can try to do something later this week.

Just finished ordering the very last thing for FE gifts - so excited! Now I'll have to actually clean & exercise in my free time, no excuses!

I have a black Vinylmation Mickey for the characters to sign on the cruise, but decided I wanted a white one instead. They were only $20 at the Disney outlet store closest to Downtown Disney, so last weekend I drove around the parking lot for THIRTY minutes trying to find a spot before I just called it quits. Found them at Magic Kingdom for $40, but couldn't justify the extra $20. *sigh* Going to be nearby in a couple of weeks, maybe I'll try again - only this time I'll make sure the kids are awake so I can valet!

Getting realllllly excited about the vacation! Trying to think ahead for all of the things I should start doing... Ordering the boy child new Mickey shoes since the ones I bought ahead are way too big! And scheduling a hair cut - it seems every time I go on a cruise I have new hair. The formal portraits in my living room are a hilarious cruise hairstyle timeline - 2 years ago short and blonde, last year long and red. Thinking of doing Locks of Love before 2/25 for something different - and less blow drying time in the cabin :)

We still don't have a clue what we're doing in port, but I suppose we have time to figure that out. I'm most worried about St Maarten - my dad & grandfather leave Florida tomorrow to spread my grandmother's ashes there, so I'm not sure how it will be to vacation there in less than 2 months :-/

Hope everyone is doing well and the time passes quickly from now until February! Do we have a close-to-final FE list so I can make sure I have enough/not too many? (*Crossing my fingers for 20 cabins - because there's no way I'm going back and making more of these things!*)

I am a bit confused about what you are saying about, being able to go to the port anytime i understand, any one can go anytime, BUT the checking in part, i am not so sure about. I think you still have to have the time from DCL to check in.:confused3

We were in Cabana #1 with the WIlmingtons....its pretty nice as Cabanas go.
But there is no hammock which i was really wanting....I just hope it is warmer at CC this time around... BUT CONGRATS IT WILL BE NICE FOR YOUR DAUGHTER!!!! so glad they were able to get that for you!!! ENjoy:goodvibes

Did you check the Disney Store online? I checked last night after our trip to the outlet, just to compare, and they had a ton of Vinylmation on sale. Not sure about white, but it might be worth a shot.

(*Crossing my fingers for 20 cabins - because there's no way I'm going back and making more of these things!*) So excited to see what you made! This inspires me to get started. I think I got carried away with my handmade stuff last time, so this time I was feeling overwhelmed by such a big project over the holidays. I can't exercise or play tennis right now, though, and it's too early to start packing, so it will be good for me to get on the FE ball.

It was easier to just reply all at once! So sorry to read that about your grandmother. I can understand how that would make St. Maarten tough.
