February 25th Magic Cruise Board

WOW

our cruise is filling up fast now.

amazing to me how many people will cruise at the last minute.

unless people waited to buy for christmas ?????:confused3

Are any of you taking something ( pillow case, tshirt etc ) to have the characters sign it?

We are taking a Tshirt i am just painting it up now, (it was really practice for our other tshirts we will be wearing).

But just an FYI.....You take it to guest services, on the first day and they will have all the Characters sign itand they will either bring it back or you can pick it up the last night of the cruise!

I am putting our wedding date on ours possibly,Just Married...NOT SURE abotu that. Was trying to think of soemthing clever to put on it....put my brainisnt clever today.

Was thinging like We signed on the dotted line.....then our wedding date?
Since they woudl be signing..........BUT i dunno:confused3

That's so funny, because I was just about to come post, all indignant: "I really hope they didn't run a special and we missed it!!!" Although it would be a nice surprise, if our TA could hook it up for us like he did last time. :thumbsup2

No special yet........
ughhh.

I really would just be happy with a free upgrade to a verandah:worship:

Hi All!

We are a family of 4 cruising with all of you on the 25th!

This is our 6th DCL cruise, and our 5th time on the Magic.

I'm going to take some time over the next few days reading thru the posts to get to know all of you a bit better.:surfweb:

Our two DD's will be 14 and 11 at the time of cruising. Any other cruisers their age in this group?

hi

welcome...............:banana::banana::banana:

I see you have alot of posts..........

DID you just decide on the cruise?

DID you just decide on the cruise?

We booked the cruise when the sailing opened. I kept meaning to drop in here to see who was cruising with us, but we all know how life can get away from us sometimes!

Happy New Year everyone!

:welcome: feiste

Glad you wandered in! This looks like old hat for you. We just love getting tips from seasoned cruisers like you and the other folks who will be joining us!

The other party we are sailing with has a 13 DD. I know she would love to get to know some other girls before we cruise so she doesn't have to hang out with our 9 DD and her sister who is 9, as well. It is a pain to be the 3rd wheel. Maybe we could get them together via email???? :confused3

Are you looking to participate in the FE? I have compiled the list and am actually just getting ready to send out the most updated version but I will hold off until I hear back from you. Please just let me know.

Happy New Years to all!

Good
Morning
Emmysdidi,
Happy New Year
ANy possibility of seeing the FE list before i would commit to being apart of it.

I still have soo much to do for the Pre Cruise Wedding and Then The Cruise and geting my kids set up for while we are gone......etc etc etc etc

But it is such a fun ritual of our cruising experience i would hate to regret not doing it later!!!

THanks
Lynn

i think we have more cruising than I think, hard to keep track when not many people are talking. Or maybe there are not as many as I think and thats why nobodies talking........:lmao:
Either way ti would help me out ALOT

Fieste........I Definitley know that, Especially with teenagers. WOW they can be Handful right?

I have one teenager left.............and she blows my mind some days

Thanks for dropping in and saying HI.......

You guys doing any excursions?

I think we are going to skip going for the upgrade for two reasons: 1) with the new boarding times and port entry rules, we aren't all that interested in having to start our vacation by rushing the gate, and 2) with the new specials at WDW, I think we'd rather spend the money on a pre-cruise stay in Orlando. Now that we can't even get into the terminal until 11, I don't really see the point in staying in Cocoa before we leave. What do you think?

What do you mean "going for the upgrade"? Do you mean yourselves! Or hoping for a free upgrade from DCL?

Also what are the new boarding times and port entry rules that you mentioned?

Thanks!

She means for herself ....
WE are sailing together and I am going to try for an upgrade from porthole to verandah.........if there is some left before we sail of course i will check
We are speaking of paying for it ourself.....Wishing for pixi dust for a free one but hasnt happened yet

And the new times she speaks of is you now get a time when you can check in and get a # for boarding unlike before you coudl show up and try to ge an early boarding #.

When you do your ompletion of things on line it shoudl have given you a time to check in.

Willmington and I did ours the second we were aloud so that we would get the 11-11:30 time slot.

IF you are wanting to get in early youshould probally go ahead online and do your checkin things and get a time, the ship is pretty filled up already and you could have a late checkin/boarding time already.

Hi- Does anyone out there know what mornings the character breakfast fall on or does it vary? Is there a way to request a dining room rotation? And are there any girls in the same age range out there interested in "meeting" my 11 year old twins ahead of time via email?
Thanks in advance,:)

I have a 11yo dd myself who is looking for friends to chat with pre cruise. Are your girls on Facebook?

thanks for the information dizzi. I have to say I'm really not happy about this! We have cruised numerous times, and have ALWAYS been assured early boarding by early arrival at the port. This year life has been very busy, and rather than fuss around with Disney's website (which I tend to find tedious, clunky, counterintuitive, and very non Disney-esqe) I was planning to book my Palo reservations when arriving on board. Now, as it turns out I might be getting on too late. Very frustrating!

I must tell you that I am enjoying your posts! After reading a few, and then learning that you were posting while on the treadmill they made a lot more sense!

My opinion, for what it's worth, is that Diversions is easier for a group meet because it's not as spread out or as crowded as the pool area on that first afternoon. If we decide to meet up on the deck, we should designate a very specific spot. Or you guys could just all dress matchy-matchy and I will find you!

I'm still reading, so perhaps this has already been decided, but I will throw in my two cents anyway.

Home depot has the Disney paint samples in the shape of Mickey's head. On a few of our cruises we agreed on a color (generally a neon green because it's easy to spot) and people made name tags out of them. Then attach it to your person, backpack, lanyard, hat, or whatever to help us quickly spot each other for the first meet, and the rest of the week.

I vote for somewhere on deck.
