February 25, 2006 Western Magic Cruisers!!

Hello to all! I have all my papers for my passports but I am waiting until I lose a few more pounds and have a bit more coor on my face (sad, huh?) I figure this photo is going to be representing me for the next 10 years and I just turned 47 so I better look good, no... GREAT for the photo!! Hahahaha.
I did go to a t-shirt place the other day and they are going to call me back with a quote since they usually supply the t-shirts and I already have them (was WAY too ahead of myself for this cruise I guess!!!!). I am thinkingif it is too high, I will return the t's and just go with the company's shirts. Then I am done, except for the actual passport stuff. That is it. I am practically packed and have most of my Christmas shopping done as most of my gifts are cruise related. By the time the cruise DOES get here, I will have nothing to do!!!! :confused3 Maybe I will have to relax!!!! :rotfl2: Hope all is well and having a great weekend! Karen

I sent out our passport renewal last month. I was a bit apprehensive as I had to send our original marriage certificate because my name has changed since my original passport. I have yet to see the new ones but expect them before the end of the year.

Still very excited, but yet it seems so far away. :boat:

Hello to all
Just booked Captain Marvins 1/2 day stingray city snorkel trip for Feb 28. :Pinkbounc
Anyone have suggestions for an excursion in Cozumel??? We did the beach thing at Playa de Mia(I think that is what it was called) last Feb.
It's getting closer :cheer2:

Hello Princess! We are thinking of Captain Marvins also. As far as Coz goes,I want to see the island AND shop AND snorkel, so my day will be busy I just need to figure how I am going to do this!!! I found a place to do the T- shirts and the price isn't too bad so that is my next step and then the passports and then payments and then insurance and then...... it will be time! I KNOW the time will go by fast now. Luckily I have already started getting outfits, coolers, gifts and stocking stuffers for all the kids so half my Christmas shopping is already done! That will be a big help come the time. I cannot wait!!! C U soon!!! Karen :cool1: :cool1:

I think we are just going to walk around Key West. Perhaps see a couple of sights on our own (no organized tour). For Grand Cayman, I think we want to do Stingray City. DW and I used Native Way back in March 2004 and had a great time. In Cozumel, I'm leaning towards spending the day at Paradise Beach. It looks like it is very inexpensive, but very nice.

DS and I have our passports - smooth transition. However, DH has a wallet sized birth certificate w/o a seal and passport was denied. So, today I sat in line for 40 minutes and couldn't get DH birth certificate because our State mandates the wife have a copy of a marriage license in order to have the paper released. Why would I need that?! I have the ring on the finger and brought along my 2004 tax return! OMG - I coudn't get a copy so now DH has to get it himself.

AHHHHH. Plenty of time but what the deal!? Thanks for letting me have my temper tantrum.

Kim

recd our passports today. took about a month and a half, but we were just renewing.

just 6 more months.... :wave2:

One of my tickers said 5 months and 3 weeks!!!! So I will go by that!!!! Especially when I am ready... when I am not and when I am thinking about all the things I have to do.... then I will go by the 6 month ticker!!!! Hahaha. I am going to take my t-shirts in next week to get printed up. Then I need to start making payments and getting the insurance and my passports. I am sewing a pair of "cruise" pants for my youngest son right now!!!! I am getting TOO excited!!! Sat with the 4 yr old grandaughter yesterday and showed her pictures of the "Mickey Ship", as that was all she wanted to look at was Micket things... my kind of girl!!!! She will absolutely love it!!! :cool1:

We are thanking God that our families have survived Hurricane Katrina. All family members are accounted for. It has been an exhausting week full of worrying and stress and we have a long way to go. I'm am working in a special needs shelter taking care of people indefinately. The stories and sites are heartrenching. We are also housing relatives. So I guess you can say I am working 2 shelters. DH family is from New Orleans and my brother-n-laws family is from New Orleans and Gulfport Mississippi. I am looking forward to our cruise more than ever. If there is anyone else that has been affected, our prayers are with you and your family.

Cajun Cruiser - I am so happy to here that yall are OK and your family is with you. It has been a very stressful week for us as well and we didn't have family in the New Orleans area. One sister in Baton Rouge and an Aunt that lives in on the Gulf coast in AL. They are in FL now but they don't know about their home. However they are safe and that's whats important. My sister in Baton Rouge is just fine and we hope to see her and her husband on Sunday. We are praying for all affected and thanking God that our families are safe.

Cajun Princess & Cajun Cruiser,

So glad to hear your families are O.K. I wondered how everyone from our group was doing. Seeing the devestation is unbelieveable. The emotional toll will be incredible. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your families.
Is there anything we can do? For the shelter, maybe?

Eddy

Hi Jeff! Welcome aboard!!! I am trying to keep a list. Actually, I made one but I can't eremember where I put it!!!! (I am 47.... my memory decided to leave me a couple years ago... haven't heard from it since!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: ). Anyway, hope to meet you and your family on the trip! Karen

Welcome Mr508MA(Jeff!). I'm also keeping an Excel spreadsheet. It makes the time go by faster. 161 days for my family today. We're from Enfield and we'll be flying out on Saturday morning. I cannot wait. Where in Mass. do you hail from?

Kim

Hi Karen,
Being 47 & forgetful shouldn't be the problem. I am 47 & I don't forget, ummm what was i talking about ? :rotfl:
I did a cruise back in 2002 where we posted on message boards with several people & planned to meet, but never did cross paths. I guess unless you know where to meet & kinda know what you will be doing at a given time, it works... I would think it would have to be either Monday or Thursday while we are at sea. Maybe late morning/early afternoon, for late afternoon folks tend to get ready for formal dinner... except me :) Not into the formal attire... when I am on vacation, shorts & shirt is the extent of my attire [except the coat & pants I had to wear to leave the winter weather of the northeast]
Have you been on DCL ? what do you plan for a meet ? Hopefully you don't forget...

Jeff :earsboy:

Hi Kim
We are from a little town called Hubbardston, not many hear of this, but it's a little northwest of Worcester, near towns called Fitchburg, Leominster.
I know where Enfield is, small world.. we all like the winter so much we travel to the warmth.
I like your site and pictures, Looks like you and your family know how to have fun. [ i love the mickey ears with the plates & Norm at breakfast] I want to party with you folks, :cool1:
From the number of Disney's you been on, I think you must know all the great stuff to do (Land & Sea)
I also noticed that you got a Port hole room in 03, some better than others ? I'll have to check what room we have.

Thanks for the welcome, Jeff

I did a quick go over of the board
20 members, totaling over 100 guests
44 of which are children under 16
9 out of 20 have been on DCL before.
:teacher:
Sounds like we got quite a good group here.
I saw on a previous post saying Monday is the best day to meet.
where & what time frame would be next... 100+ people, Hmmm :grouphug:
