February 25, 2006 Western Magic Cruisers!!

Karen~sorry forgot to write about Aerosmith!! The first time we saw them I wasnt too thrilled. They were good but I paid alot of $$ to see them and about half way thru the show they leave the stage and go and sing to all the grass seats on another stage! And of course they sang all the good songs up there! So during all these good songs we had to look at their back sides. The second time they were soooo much better! I think you'll really enjoy them! Let me know how they were!! :flower2:

Hi! I am Tracy, and I am really addicted to Disney cruises. :earsgirl: Luckily, so is my hubby! We are going on the February 25 cruise. There will be one less of us this year since one of our daughters is working. So there will be four of us--Mark, myself, and two of our daughters ages 12 and 8.

When we first took the kids on a Disney Cruise a couple of years ago, we won the $6000 bingo jackpot! We booked a cruise for 9 months later before we even left the ship. I guess they got their money back anyway. ;)

Speaking of concerts, the absolute most phenomenal concert I have been to was David Bowie. Wow, is he awesome!

Tracy

Hi Tracy!! Welcome!! Wow-$6,000!! Congrats! I cant wait to play Bingo! After winning $6000 the last time...I guess I'll be seeing you there!! ;)

Great!!! I have been to some fabulous country concerst also... we will have to compare notes!!!
We are now one day closer everyone!!!

Karen, It looks like the boys are hitting it off good. Sounds like they have a lot in common. My son has not checked his e-mail this often since it got it. :hyper2:

What excursions are yall doing? We are doing stingray city with captain marvin in Grand Cayman and the Myan Ruins and Beach excursion in Cozumel.

Anyone staying in Cocoa Beach the night before? Still haven't had luck with Priceline for there. We'll be going for a third request soon.

Eddy--We are staying in Cocoa Beach the night before. We are renting a car and driving down from Orlando. The next morning, we will turn the car in, and they will give us a ride to the dock.

Tracy

Good morning all!

We are doing Stringray City with Native Way on Grand Cayman. Although I haven't heard back from them yet. Maybe I'll try Captain Marvin . . .

For Cozumel, we are planning on taking a taxi down to Paradise Beach.

All this talk about concerts, now I want to go . . . .

One of the best shows we saw was U2 back in the late 80's. We ended up with some free tickets (someone knew someone who knew someone . . .). They were 7th row, main floor. What an awsome show!!

Rick

Its so hard for us to do alot of the excursions we wanted because of our 3 yo. I know... I know...we could leave him on the ship but I just dont think I'm too comfortable with that!! So far we are only doing the Nautilus semi submarine in the Caymans. Cozumel we're just going to shop and Key West my TA said to do things on your own. That it is alot cheaper. My husband and son wanted to do the fishing on CC but procratinated and now its all full. :sad1: So hopefully something will open up or am hoping that the concierge can pull a few strings!! :worship:

Wow...7th row for U2!! It doesnt get much better than that Rick!! :cool2:

For those of you going on the Stingray City tour with Captain Marvin's, what time did you book for? I think we may jump over from Native Way as they haven't responded to my request yet.

Rick

We are doing Captain Marvins from 10-1 and then the tour after, if I am not mistaken. I am getting everything mixed up at this point. I thought I was organized, however, I better rearrange my brain!!
I am so glad the boys are starting to talk. My son has 2-3 of the boys in this group he is chatting with!!! :cool1:
Best Seats ever was Santana... great concert... 5th row. I was so close I could tell Carlos shaved right before the show!! ::yes:: Another ok seat was Cher. I was on the floor (don't know HOW that happened... luck I guess). However, I am a shorty and everybody stood so I ended up not really seeing well.Wouldn't mind seeing U2. Phil Collins would be nice.... Kiss would be great (missed them last year when they toured with Aerosmith... that would have rocked!!!!). Fleetwood Mac would have been nice... missed Stevie this past summer. She was here in Tampa. Ahhh the glory of youth in the forties.... that would be a great song title!!!

We saw Aerosmith with Kiss but I dont think it was last year. Maybe a couple of years ago. It ws really good! Saw Phil Collins...excellent show!! Best concert seats was 6th row for Keith Urban. :faint: Saw Santana last year . Good show but didnt have the greatest seats!! Won a meet 'n greet with Dierks Bentley this summer. Had my arm around him!!...loved it!!

We are doing a Turtle Farm and Hell tour with Capt Marvin at about 10:00 a.m. and then the Sting Ray City at 1:45.

In Key West, (I lived there a year when I was two), I would like to see Ernest Hemingway's home and/or the pirate museum. Don't know where either one are yet. :teeth:

On Cozumel, we will probably spend several hours at the beach. What are some good recomendations? The one called Playa Sol changed names, but it has a beach and zoo area and a bunch of stuff, but it might be busy. What are y'all's thoughts?

Tracy,
I have heard great things about Paradise Beach. Checkout Cruise Critic Cozumel Board for reviews and information.

We are all going "snuba diving". It is a cross between snorkle and scuba! I hope I made a wise decision... Iam getting nervouse about being out inthe deep... how bad is that???!!!!
After we (well, my family... my sister does not want todo this..) are taking a quick short tour of the Ruins.

Okay, all this talk about concerts ... I had to throw mine in the mix. I haven't been to many, but since I'm an 80's girl we went to see Hall & Oates w/ Michael McDonald (Rock n' Blues Review or something like that) in Green Bay over a year ago ... I love Hall & Oates' music and it was awesome! But the best was Michael McDonald :faint: (YUM!) this past September in Milwaukee at the intimate Potawatomi Bingo Casino Northern Lights Theatre! He could rock my world anytime! I'm not a Jethro Tull fan at all, but they came to Sheboygan (of all places!) for "Lakefest" a few years back and they were unbelievable!

Hi hjensen,

My son would love to get together with your son when we are at the hotel, that will give them both someone to latch on to in the kids center. I don't know if we can wait much longer the weather today really helped, can you believe 54 in Milwaukee in January? We arrive at the hotel on the 24th and are on the first bus over on the 25th, 10:30 am, we are driving over from Tampa and hop to be there by 2-3, maybe we can arrange a meet at the pool.

If anyone else has a DD @ 11-12 or a DS 4-5 and is staying at the Radisson and want to meet on the 24th PM me o post here and we can set it up. That way our kids can get on the ship with reinforcements already in place.

Judy

Hi Judy!! That sounds really nice!! I would love to have Jake make a friend before we get onboard!! Not too sure when we will get to the hotel. We are renting a car from Budget and then will head to the hotel from there. Wasn't the weather here awesome!! I actually had my sunroof open alittle bit!! :sunny: We'll probably arrive at the hotel the same time you are. So we can just set up a time!!

I know that some of you on here have cruised before...could you tell me if you have ever left any of your children on the ship while you were in port? I feel like we're kinda missing out on some things cuz he is not old enough to do most of the excursions. If you did could you tell me how it went! Thanks!!

The 2 best concerts I have seen were both David Bowie. Fantastic performer! We STILL dont have a hotel through Priceline in Cocoa Beach. I think we can try again tomorrow. We fly into Orlando on Friday afternoon and rented a car with Budget. I don't care if we stay in a less expensive hotel but DH would like a hotel on the beach.

We will do Key West on our own and Paradise Beach in Coz. Last time on Grand Cayman we went to Cemetary Beach but I'll have to read up on Cruise Critic to see where a nice beachy area is post hurricane. We have done Stingray City a few times before our DD was born. And I know she would freak out and get right out of the water if we tried to take her there, :scared1:
I just put in for my vacation time from work so its all too real now. :cool1: I am taking off on Thursday to do all my running around.

Eddy

Billy Joel was out of this world!! He looked fantastic and played wonderfuly and sang much better than I ever expected... he IS getting older. I have to say it was one of the best Ihave been to... Hall & Oates was great! But I saw them way back in...what? 198?
What is everyone else doing in Cozumel and does anyone have any points on the shopping on either island?

Good morning.

-On concerts - we saw Elton John & Billy Joel together in Boston in like the 13th row. It was amazing! We have also seen Chicago & Earth Wind & Fire the last two summers. Makes you feel like a teen again! Of course my kids would be horrified to see their parents singing and dancing in their chairs! I would kill to see Garth Brooks or Tim McGraw though my husband would rather be dead than go see them.

-On Friday night - we are staying at the Pop Century hotel the night before (we don't get in until about 6pm) is anyone else staying on Disney?

-Has anyone taken the transportation option from Disney?
I am curious to hear about it. We were told we needed to be at the AKL around noon on Saturday to catch the bus. I'm not as anxious to get on the boat early, my kids will be as happy to have a swim in the morning etc. My sister is going to take us from Pop Century to the AKL so thats no problem.

Its nice to have this board to read each day. :earsboy:
