I made this one as a trial run before making the fancy embroidered one I wanted for our family. I think I've got enough iron-on transfer paper to do a personalization for the top of it as well.

I've got enough leftover fabric (and time!) for 2 more after this one if there is anyone out there who wants to play FE but hasn't signed up because they don't have a fish extender.

Hi everyone,

What do you think of the signature????? Does this work? I can most definitely change it if we come up with something different as a group! I am also working on my door sign, so I was downloading the Disney Font and .... got to playing. Now, I need to get off the computer....;)

Hi Elizabeth!
I think it's a great signature - you're very creative. Where did you download the Disney Font?

Take care,
Corinne :hippie:

Hi Trish!
Your fish extender looks great! I, too, have been busily sewing one! The only fabric I found that was Disney related was Ariel (which luckily is my daughter's fave) and a colourful "fishy" one. Lots of bright colours, for sure! I am having lots of fun with it. Hope you are too!

See ya,

I am. It's not often I get to work with bright whimsical colors like this. I didn't bother with the same-old Disney prints that everyone else is using - I just picked out pretty "tropical" looking prints instead.

Me too, and when mine's done, it's going to have seashells and fish all over it! It is SO fun to let your "crafty" side out once in a while!! But I think I'm out of control... I can't wait to see your finished product and everyone else's!

Hi all,

I was wondering which dinner seating everyone has. I would imagine that those of you with young kids (like 7 and under) are in the earlier one. Since we were relatively late in booking (early Nov), we got stuck with the later one. We have requested to be put on the waiting list for the early seating.

I've read the pros and cons about the late seating, in terms of young kids, and was wondering how others are handling it. The late seating means that you see the shows earlier and you don't have to rush through dinner to get a good seat. But then the kids are tired and hungry by the time dinner rolls around.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated. Our daughter, Chloe, as many of you know, is 6.

Thanks,
Corinne :hippie:

We're on the waitlist for early dining as well. My 15 month old goes to sleep before 8pm so there's no way we can do second dining unless we pay to put her in Flounders every single night.

Corrine:

We are also at the late dinner seating. We have requested the early one as well. I have also pulled the Type 1 diabetic card. I had my doctor fill out a form requesting the early seating due to me having to maintain my blood sugar and eat at a consistent time and we still haven't heard anything. When I called to ask about it, they said that the medical officer/seating plan could be changed up until 3 days before we sail and you can even ask when you board to switch seating times. They apparently take into account the following: - medical need, age of children when prioritizing the wait list but we still haven't heard anything and with a 3 and 5 year old, you would think that this would bump us up - but nothing to date. I just don't think that the girls will be able to sit through an over 2 hour meal which is what apparently the second seating is vs. 1 1/2 hour for the early seating. I'll keep my fingers crossed for all of us.

So, even if you don't get switched prior to boarding, ask when you check in as I was told they keep a few seats for then.

Remember that there are lots of people who don't read these boards, who won't have any idea what their dining arrangements are until they board. Some of those people will want to switch to late seating and that will free up some spaces for those who want to switch to early.

I'm not stressing about the late seating - it'll work out in the end.

Well so far it looks as if we're the only ones who have the early dinner seating! We had the late dinner seating the last time we cruised(Jake was 3 at the time) and just like you said Corrine it had its pros and cons! We got to take Jake to the earlier shows and that went really well but by dinner he was tired and cranky and didn't really want to eat. Plus to me sometimes the dinners seem to take sooo long! I don't really know how we got lucky with the early seating this time, we didn't request it. We had just decided to go with flow and see what we got. Although this time we have decided that we are not going to bust our butts to make it to dinner even with the late seating last time we just always seemed so rushed to get there on time. I don't want to feel that way this time.

Good luck to everyone and I hope you all get the seating that you want!! :thumbsup2

Hi,

We are early seating (is this where I duck?) - I also hope everyone who wants it gets it eventually. I think it might have something to do with when you booked. We booked last March, and at that point early seating was still available. Definitely go to Rockin Bar D as soon as you board, and if you want to switch I would make plans to get to the terminal as soon as possible on Saturday. The sooner you get to Rockin Bar D to make your change, the more likelihood you will get what you want...

Ours is listed as the "main" seating. I'm assuming that is early, but i could be wrong? Anyone? :confused3

We would love to join the fish extenders!!! This is our first Disney Cruise and this all sounds like so much fun!

How do we know everyone's cabin # to make sure we get everyone their gifts? If we just post them here, what if the cabin is changed or upgraded upon check-in? Thanks for the info!

I added you to the fish extender list in post #213.

I hadn't considered changes at check-in. We could always double-check cabin numbers at the meet-up on the first day. Have we set a time for that yet, anybody? If not, I propose 3pm at the Goofy pool - that seems to be the most common time for a DIS-meet.

-Trish

Welcome Kristin and family! :goodvibes

Thanks for the dining clarification Trish! If you want to update the FE list, our cabin number is 2022. 3 pm by the Goofy Pool sounds fine to me.

Michelle :)

Hi Trish,

Please add our cabin number for the fish extenders - it's 6080.

And we are fine with meeting at the Goofy pool around 3:00, too!

Can't wait......

Corinne :hippie:

I can almost guarantee that my guys will be napping at 3, unless I can convince them to wait until after the sailaway party (crossing fingers) but even if they can't wait I will be there at the Goofy pool to meet you all. I can't wait! We also have second seating and are hoping to change it, or alternatively devise a system of snacking/napping at just the right time so we can "enjoy" our late dinner. However, if I get switched to earlier and you don't, AllPrincessMander, I will gladly switch with you since you have a much more important need than we do. Just let me know, ok?

My little one is probably going to be asleep at 3 as well, but I can't think of a better time to have a meet. If we delay until later, we run into the boat drill and dinner. If we go earlier, not everyone will have arrived. I believe some people are taking the DCL transfers and so they don't expect to arrive until well after 1pm.

I'm going to try to get my kiddo down for a nap as soon as we have access to our cabin so hopefully she can get her usual 60-90 minutes and still be up for 3pm. If she's not up, my husband will stay with her and I'll come to the meet. Once we're all on board and have our dining times sorted out, we can always plan another meeting time more agreeable to the young ones' schedules.

-Trish

3 pm at the Goofy Pool sounds great for a meet location and time. Count us in!

In terms of last minute room changes, we could PM each other our surnames and then if we get our room # re-assigned I imagine we could leave a quick voice mail for everyone else?
