February 2014

I got a pin for Free Dining for early 2014 dates awhile back. We had already booked and were going either way, but it certainly made it more magical. We did have to switch from AoA and ended up at POFQ. 57 days to go!!!!

We also received a Free Dining PIN thank goodness!! We will be using it 2/3 - 2/10 at POR.

We are staying the same dates at POP.

How did you get free dining???

Yes we received a pin code for the free Dining. If you stay at a value you get the quick service dining. Any other resort you got regular dining. 1 sit down 1 counter.

You can always call and just ask if there is a pin code associated with your email address. Ask for all emails you have registered with disney.

Did you all read the monorail is closed the month of Feb?

It's only closed from 11a-7p and runs otherwise. Messing up monorail rest rides we like to take when kids get cranky mid day but otherwise won't impact us too much.

This is how we got our FD code for Feb 1. We had already booked and I kept asking if there was a code associated with either of our accounts. Eventually, we did receive one that was almost missed because it was attached to DH's account and e-mail - I swear he would have deleted it not realizing!

I just spent the last 15 minutes writing to ask you folks for tips on choosing FP+ selections (e.g., Peter Pan's Flight vs Meeting Cinderella, etc.). Prior to posting, I searched on DIS and could not find a good thread (mostly due to my poor searching skills). Then I Googled it and found that the touringplans website has graphs on wait times for all the rides (day specific).

I wanted to make sure we were using FP+ for the longest lines and now I know to keep Peter Pan's Flight and switch out my Jungle Cruise for Cinderella. I might also toss out Tomorrow Land Speedway since it is a short line.

I would still love to hear any good tips or strategies (or links to thereof) on FP+ selections. I am mostly concerned with the 2.5 days at MK. Thanks! :listen:

DH and I booked an adults only trip for February!! I "suggested" that celebrating my 40th in Disney would be a good idea. Luckily he agreed with me :) We already had 5 day hoppers, and a companion fare plane ticket so with the room only discount this might be the cheapest trip we've ever taken to Disney!! We are going Feb 5-9 and staying at CSR. Were hoping for POR / PQFQ to try something new but no availability with the discount so we ended up at CSR as it was the only mod with rooms available. We are looking forward to the quick getaway! We tend to have a much more relaxed touring style when the kiddos are not along and we spend alot more time in the parks - we still take afternoon breaks but typically that means just grabbing a leisurely lunch / snack and people watching vs. traveling back to the hotel for swimming.
Anyone know of any events happening during this timeframe? It looks like we are safe from the marathon as well as Presidents Weekend crowds, but wondered if there was anything else going on these days.

Will. Be there from February 1-8, at CRS

Great! What does CRS stand for? Contemporary Resort or Coronado Springs Resort? Or is it something else? Contemporary is usually just CR while CSR is used for Coronado Springs Resort.

67 days and counting! My wife, 2 kids (son 8 and daughter 6) and I will be heading down to the world from Feb 21 - Mar 1. We are doing a split stay this year (1st time ever) renting DVC points. Friday through Monday at Kidani and Monday through Saturday BLT. We can't wait!

My wife will be running the Princess Half and I will be spectating. Any tips if I want to see her on Main Street USA?

I'll see everyone there!!!
Wonderful to have you join our thread. Your split stay sounds fun with two of the resorts that I would love to try out myself some day!

Will be there Feb 8th to the 15th. There will be 13 of us. Staying at AASp with free dining. Leaving right before the holiday crowds get there. At least i hope the crowds get there after we leave.

Welcome! Is your big group just family members or is it a mix of friends and family? I have just been with my immediate family but often think it would be fun to go with a big group.

What a wonderful way to spend your 40th birthday!

Get FP+ for Peter Pan's Flight for sure. That had the longest stand-by times in MK that we noticed the 3rd week of November. Splash Mountain will be closed in February so possibly Big Thunder Mountain and Space Mountain would also be good choices for FP+ if you do those roller coasters. Another surprising line that we encountered was for the Winnie the Pooh ride so you may want to FP+ that one too. If you want to see Mickey Mouse at Town Hall first thing in the morning then use a FP+ for him. Otherwise stop by to see him later in the day. We visited the 4 princesses at Princess Fairytale Hall between 11 am and noon 1 day. They have two lines: the side with Cinderella & Aurora had a 15-20 minute wait and the side with Rapunzel & Snow White had a 25-30 minute wait. We did not have Fast Pass for them but those who did were able to see the princesses almost immediately. We didn't go to see newer princesses. Hope that helps.

I got up super early to make my Fast pass plus reservations, and made it almost through one day and got the dreaded Server Busy message. Try again later.

I did log in later on my iPhone and the earlier reservations showed up. Now I am doubting that they are "real".

Either way, I'm going to Disney World in 60 days!

While I don't think this will impact my family too much, I am glad I am not staying at a monorail resort. I had originally book BLT just to experience being that close to MK and being on the monorail loop. I later changed to VWL. Now I'm glad I didn't spend extra DVC points for BLT!

I got the server busy message for every single FP+ I made 4 days ago, and am still getting it every time I alter one. If you just go back in to MDE, they still show up. I don't see why they wouldn't be "real." I'd continue to make your selections. There's no point in waiting because it's likely you'll always get that message.

I did go ahead and i made the rest of the reservations on my phone. The reason I doubt whether they are "real" is that I had adr reservations continue to show up in MDE for last year's trip that I had cancelled. I even called to make sure they were indeed cancelled and they were. But MDE would not permit me to make replacement ADRs during their time slots, despite not being real reservations.

So was anyone with a February reservation able to score one of the Delta glitch fares? I tried but the websites were so bogged down that I couldn't get through to the confirmation page. It sure would have been nice to fly rather than drive! And cheaper! $192 round trip for the 4 of us!

Whoa, $192 total? What kind of glitch was that??
