February 2014

Can't wait till February:cool1: Just finished making our ADR's for the first week in february!! Now just waiting to see what kind of discount will be offered. We've been saving for 2 years for this trip. The discount will depend on moderate vs deluxe with the wilderness lodge being our dream resort which we have been saving like crazy for. We love POR but have already stayed their twice before. I have a feeling that this trip will be extra magical with two DD's 8 and 4 that are princess crazy:flower3:

This trip will be really fun for you with your two girls. :dance3: On our last trip, my DD wore her Cinderella trip to Magic Kingdom and had a fantastic time. She loved all the attention she received and it was just so much fun!

Got my ADR at BOG....so excited! :hyper:

Now I just have to figure out where I want to stay!

Happy for you!:cool1:

I couldn't believe it this morning when I had my choice for dates and times for BOG. I will be there the week before and leading into President's Day so I really thought it might be difficult to get. :confused3

I was able to get dinner on Friday, Feb. 14th Valentine's Day (romantic) princess:and made the reservation but then realized that my son's band was going to be in a differnt park that day and would be in the Magic Kingdom on Sat. instead. So, I cancelled the 14th and made my dinner reservations for Sat the 15th! :cheer2:

:cheer2:

Hi, I am planning a mom, grandmothers, and daughter ( 4 years old) trip for February 2nd through 6th, 2014. We are sooooooooooooooooooo excited. I had to push a little for this trip- and I won them over!!!! So far we have purchased airfare only because it was such a great deal and didn't want to miss it ($214 per person round trip). I am leaning towords staying at Port Orleans Riverside and crossing my fingers for some sort of discount (part of my pitch to convince the grandmothers to go on the trip included the strong likelihood of a discount on dining or hotel) I have ADR's so far at Cinderella's Royal Table (yipee!), Park Fare, Crystal Palace, Ohana, and Narcooses!!! How can I be added to this thread? So Glad to be a part of it!

Great that you could join us and convince your grandmothers to go on the trip! :wave2::cool1::cool1:Since I started the thread, I have to add people to the list on page one. So, I will take care of that! :thumbsup2

Your ADRs sound perfect!:cheer2:

Just saw this!!!!!

My husband and I have been when we were kids and with family in 2006. We really didn't get into it too much.

Anyhoo, fast foward with 2 kiddos and we are very into it and super excited!!

This is our iteneriary so far..

Sat- arrive and do whatever.

Sun- breakfast at Tusker and then Animal Kingdom

Mon- Magic Kingdom. BBB in the evening and then Cinderella's Royal Table

Tues- Hollywood Studios- dinner at Rainforest Cafe

Wed- Hopefully swim at resort and play there. Dinner- Hoop-Dee-Do Revue

:cool1:

:thumbsup2 Sounds like a great plan.

The only thing I might suggest is to try to make your BBB reservation earlier in the day so that your DD can had the joy of walking around MK dressed up. She will get lots of special attention and will most likely enjoy it. I know my DD loved being in the MK in her Cinderella dress. It was fun taking her on the rides and taking lots of photos of her around the castle, on the carosel, at wishing well (beside the castle on the side closest to Tomorrowland), etc.

We didn't do BBB. I just put my DD's hair up in a bun myself. But I wouldn't worry to much about her hair falling down out of the BBB bun before dinner since from what I have seen and read from other people's experiences they really secure the bun and hair with lots of hairspray! Also, you want to leave plenty of room between your BBB appointment and the dinner reservation since the BBB can run long due to a possible wait even with reservations and just getting the hair done, dress, and photos.

Last year all the discounts for the first part of this year came out in October (sorry, I can't find the exact date just now.) Chances are highly likely that the discount you wishing for will come out!

I have been working on my upcoming trip for four years.

Hey everyone!

First time poster. My family is planning a vacation in Feb. 2014. so add us to the list.

I thought I'd post our current plan and let everyone know what they think.

Me, my wife, my 10 year old daughter and my mother-in-law will be flying down to Orlando on Feb 13th.

Where we're staying is still up in the air. A friend of ours has generously offered to let us use his Time Share points free of charge. Because of this we are on the waiting list to stay at the Wilderness Lodge Villas. If this comes through, that would be awesome! But I don't know the likely hood of that. Anybody know?

If that doesn't work, we have confirmed reservations at Port Orleans - French Quarter.

We'll be staying for six days. This will give us one day in each part, one day of a water park and one day to head over to Universal Studios - Islands of Adventure (the family is big Harry Potter fans).

As soon as dinner reservations are available, I'll be making those. Our plan is to try for Nine Dragons, The Rose and Crown Pub and The 50's Cafe.

Then we'll be flying back on the 20th.

We are really looking forward to it. We have tried to include our daughter in the plans, but we've told her a little lie. We said we'd be going in April. Won't she be surprised! :)

:yay:party: You trip sounds fantastic! It would be wonderful to stay at the Wilderness Lodge Villas. Either way, it will be so much fun for you and your family.

I just checked my records and various discounts for the beginning months of 2013 were available for booking by Disney Visa card holders on Oct. 4th because that is when we booked our room at POR for this past Feb. Disney Visa card holders had a few days to about a week that we could book before it was also available to the general public. Like all Disney discounts certain busy dates were blacked out and some resorts had better deals than others.

;)

Glad to be a part of the February vacationer group for tips and recommendations. ;) Looking forward to warmer temps and a FUN week,
first week of February.

Welcome to the disboards and the Feb. 2014 thread, Nordicgal & Kristen!! I noticed that this was the first post for each of you.

I booked a LM room, but if the S/P/D promo comes out, we may switch to a different resort in order to get it. I am just sad because my girls would love AoA the best (they are three yrs old). I would upgrade to a suite, but then I would have to upgrade again to get the dining plan we want and it wouldn't be worth it.

Excited to be here! We will be staying at OKW 2/22-3/1. Myself, dh, dd13, ds11 and my mother. Fourth trip, but first time onsite.

I've got to update my ticker - we've just booked another trip to the Mouse that comes before our Feb. 2014 stay! We're taking our grandson, age 8, on his first visit to WDW this coming November. So much to do! Already have the must do ADR's.

Good morning all!

I just dropped in to say I completed our ADR's this morning online and I'm soooo excited!! (And relieved to be done with that part of planning!)

I booked us for 4 character meals in hope that that justifies getting the dining plan :) We'll be at O'Hana, Chef Mickey, and Hollywood and Vine for breakfast. I also booked 1900 Park Fare for dinner...as the only girl in this family, I get ONE activity that's for me, right?!

I also thought I'd share the tip I read about the breakfasts...I honestly don't remember where I read it. I'm on so many different websites! Anyway, someone somewhere suggested booking the LAST breakfast time for the monorail resorts and spending the morning in the MK and then using that meal to serve as lunch. Supposedly, it's less crowded near the end of the meal time since it borders on lunch (11:15 is our late reservation time), and then we get to be in the park at opening for a little while before we take our break to eat. I don't know if it's going to make much of a difference, but just thought I'd share :)

:yay:party: You trip sounds fantastic! It would be wonderful to stay at the Wilderness Lodge Villas. Either way, it will be so much fun for you and your family.

Thank you. :) Yeah, we've got our fingers crossed for the Villas, but either way it'll be great. And I got our ADRs squared away this weekend. Woo-Hoo!

Hello everyone we are going in February as well from the 2nd to the 9th staying at SOG. Its a big family trip 12 of us going to celebrate my son and my nephew turning 5. We booked the Tusker House for lunch on the Wednesday as the boys are fans of the fab 5 and we have never been. Also booked the Family Magic Tour for all 12 of us on the Monday. We are hoping for good weather and crowds. Last time we all went was Feb 2011 to celebrate my nieces 5th birthday. We are also debating about doing pirates league with the kids anyone have any thoughts on it? So excited planning it all :-)

As of right now we're going to be there for President's Day Weekend (2/13 - 2/18) due to the Presidential Classic gymnastics meet at the ESPN Wide World of Sports. I wish it was another time due to the holiday weekend, high prices for resorts and likely large crowds but I guess we'll get through it.

:)

On my family's last trip we booked the character breakfast at Park Fare at 11:30 a.m. ( the last available breakfast seating) We were literally the only people there (one or 2 families were leaving as we arrived). We had all the characters all to ourselves and food-wise it certainly counted as our lunch- we of course were stuffed all day after the buffet. It was a nice way to get to enjoy an early morning in the park and still have a "brunch".
