February 2014

I just booked AoA for February 19-25 for my daughters first birthday!!! I could not be more excited. I'm anxious to see if any discounts come up during that time although I'm not incredibly hopeful since the half marathon is there that weekend. But either way I'm over the moon excited!!

I've got to update my ticker - we've just booked another trip to the Mouse that comes before our Feb. 2014 stay! We're taking our grandson, age 8, on his first visit to WDW this coming November. So much to do! Already have the must do ADR's.

I would be so excited to share a first trip with a grandchild. Have you decided where you are going to stay?

A trip centered around your grandson in November and then an adults' trip in February is a nice combination. They really can be two totally different trips.

I am so exicited that our group has grown over the month I have missed! I am really sorry for not catching everyone earlier. I am a teacher and this first month of school has been crazy with a lot of new things coming my way that I had to focus my energies on.

But things have settled down and now I am back. I have missed the boards and sharing with everyone about our trips in February. I am currently in the process of updating the list so if you don't see you name and information by the end of today, Sept 21, let me know and I will go back and correct it. I just wanted to send this note out to let you know I am working on it.

A HUGE WELCOME TO ALL OF YOU NEW and A BIG GREETINGS to everyone I have missed visiting with while I have been gone.
;)

Glad to be a part of the February vacationer group for tips and recommendations. ;) Looking forward to warmer temps and a FUN week,
first week of February.

:cool1: Hi Nordicgal! Welcome! I have never been in February before but am looking forward to the weather, whatever it may bring. Do you know where you will be staying? If so, let me know and I can add it to the first page information.

Tomorrow is my ADR day! I am so excited...and anxious.

:) Kristin

Welcome Kristin! :jumping1: WOO HOO! Were you able to get the ADRs you wanted?

Excited to be here! We will be staying at OKW 2/22-3/1. Myself, dh, dd13, ds11 and my mother. Fourth trip, but first time onsite.

:cheer2: Happy you joined our group! A first trip onsite! Very exciting. OKW is one of the resorts that I would love to stay at. The theming just really appeal to me.

Hello everyone we are going in February as well from the 2nd to the 9th staying at SOG. Its a big family trip 12 of us going to celebrate my son and my nephew turning 5. We booked the Tusker House for lunch on the Wednesday as the boys are fans of the fab 5 and we have never been. Also booked the Family Magic Tour for all 12 of us on the Monday. We are hoping for good weather and crowds. Last time we all went was Feb 2011 to celebrate my nieces 5th birthday. We are also debating about doing pirates league with the kids anyone have any thoughts on it? So excited planning it all :-)

:banana:A big family trip sounds like fun. And since you have done it before, it probably will go more smoothly than others on big family trips. Welcome to our group!

As of right now we're going to be there for President's Day Weekend (2/13 - 2/18) due to the Presidential Classic gymnastics meet at the ESPN Wide World of Sports. I wish it was another time due to the holiday weekend, high prices for resorts and likely large crowds but I guess we'll get through it.

:)

:cheer2: I am going the same week as you and just like you I would love to advoid the President's Day weekend too but I can't. My son's HS band is marching in a parade that Saturday so I am just going along. I wish his band director would have chosen a week or two earlier, we could have saved quite a bit more money and the crowds would be less. Oh well, at least we get to go! We just might bump into each other !

Don't think I've visited this thread before- we're going from the 10th-17th Feb and staying at CBR!

I'm so excited! I've been watching tons of videos of stuff around the parks on Youtube. This will be our first time staying onsite for a week so I've been watching things like the route the ME takes and bus journeys between parks too.

:yay:Welcome! A first time onsite! I think you will love the difference it makes than being offsite. I like having the convenience of just jumping on the bus and not having to drive around finding my way around the parks.

At the end of the night in the parks, we tend to hang back a bit and visit the stores, that way when we get to the bus stop it is not that crowded. If you leave right at the end of the fireworks, your wait for a bus will be long.

Hi! I just booked SOG 2/5 - 2/11. I have never been in February.

I am traveling with DH, DS3, DS2 and my parents. So excited!!

:dance3:Welcome to our group! There are several of us on this thread that will be experiencing Disney in February for the first time. Hopefully, we will all have good traveling weather and a great time while there! I usually go in the summer, so I am really looking forward to cooler weather.

Hi, just letting this thread know that I've moved dates to Jan 27 - Feb 6. Still at Pop Century :thumbsup2 Thank you!

Thanks for the update!:thumbsup2

We are going February 13-25th. We are staying at AoA LM room unless I can get a better discount at another resort. We did our ADR's on August 17th.

Ohana, LTT, BoG, Via Napoli, Sci-Fi, and a few that do not require ADR's. 162 days to go!

Welcome to the thread. :yay:Just like you, I am staying at AoA LM for my DD's choice. It looks like a lot of fun but I really don't want to miss any deals. So, we might have to switch if the LM rooms are not part of the deal. :confused3So, we are both in the wait and see mode right now. I have heard deals might come out in October so hopefully we will not have to wait much longer.

We booked our trip last February for this coming February. We will be there from the 13th through the 25th with a 3 day Disney Dream cruise thrown in on the 20th through the 23rd. Then back to WDW.. We are staying our land portion at SOG.:goodvibes

:banana:It is great to have you as part of our group! A combo trip with WDW and a Disney cruise should be lots of fun.

I'm so excited to be planning my very first WDW trip Feb 2-8! I grew going to Disneyland, but never DW. We are staying at AoA and with my kid's ages (8,5,almost 3), I know they will love it! It can't come soon enough :)

:dance3: Welcome! It sounds like the perfect time for you to go to WDW. You kids will just have so much fun and it will be new experiences for you all but something familiar too. I would love to visit Disneyland someday!

I will be there February 21-24th for the Princess Half Marathon. It will be my 2nd time running it! We're doing a girls weekend! Yay!

Happy running and welcome to our thread!:woohoo:

We will be there 2/23 - 3/1...counting down the days!!!

Welcome! :cool1: Do you know where you will be staying? If so, let me know and I can add it to the first page information.

We will also be there for PHM! February 21-23 at AoA, and then at Vistana Villages til 3/1! I'd rather stay on property the whole time, but my mom is giving us a timeshare week for free... Hard to pass that up!

:banana:Glad you joined our group. I agree! It would be hard to pass up a free timeshare! Have fun running and enjoy your trip!

:cloud9: Celebrating a first birthday at Disney! So who do you think is her favorite character? Hollywood Studios might have a lot of good options for you since it seems that they usually have the most characters from the Disney Junior shows there. Whatever you do, I am sure she will be amazed and so much fun to watch her reactions!

A trip centered around your grandson in November and then an adults' trip in February is a nice combination. They really can be two totally different trips.

We've booked the Wilderness Lodge for Jason's first trip. We've never stayed there ourselves but we've eaten at Artist Point when we've traveled just as a couple. WL & AKL are our two favorites during the season when Christmas decorations are up - they are both so beautifully decorated. With Jason, our very picky eater along, we'll skip Artist Point but have an ADR at Whispering Canyon and will also grab some meals at Roaring Forks. He should like the pool at WL too and it is nice and close to the MK. He was not yet 4 when we took his older sisters back in May 2009 for their first (& only to date) trip to WDW. The end of August Jason's mom got his 3rd grade teacher's tentative approval for us to take him out of school for the week so that we could go at a time when the weather should be good, the crowds fairly low and the room rates moderate.

When we go as a couple in February we'll enjoy a Signature dinner each night but Jason's trip is all for him; you are correct - two very different trips.

It's good to see you back on this thread.

Thanks Kathy, I have missed being here on the boards. The Wilderness Lodge sounds like a great choice for your November trip. I have heard that the Whispering Canyon is lots of fun. I might try to squeeze it into our trip in Feb. It is going to be a quick trip since we are with the HS band.

Booked February 5th-10th for a girls trip/UCA nationals. :cool1::cheer2::cheer2::cool1: Staying at ASSp. My cousin and her DD15 in one room with other cheerleaders and my aunt, my DD4 and Myself in another room. Hoping for some type of good deal or even a BB offer when I go next month.

So what makes Whispering Canyon memorable? I am starting to also wonder about which Signature dinners you plan to attend. :)

Thanks Kathy, I have missed being here on the boards.

Welcome back! Your lack of presence was definitely missed :flower3:

Will this be your first trip with the cheerleaders or are you a seasoned veteran?

Wow...just noticed our tickers....4 months-ish until WDW. Told my girls and they started cheering and jumping up and down :yay: lol

We've just never been to Whispering Canyon and it is right in the lodge where we're staying so we thought we should give it a try.

The Signatures we're doing in February include one new to us, California Grill. I've read some mixed reviews of it since reopening earlier this month but figure we've got to eat there at least once for the Wishes view alone. We're returning to our favorites of Flying Fish Cafe and Jiko.

Thanks esme1sttip! I missed you all.

I have heard that the Whispering Canyon is just a fun meal and that kids, especially love it with all the antics that goes on there!

I just found out that the plans for my son's HS band trip so his band is now marching in the 10 AM parade on Feb. 14th instead of on Saturday, so now I am going to try to change some of my ADRs around. Ugg! I had originally got into BOG for dinner on Sat. the 15th so I might not be able to get another BOG but you never know.

I think I have our list on page 1 all caught up. Check the list to see if I got the information correct. If there are any changes, just let me know and I will update it!

Will this be your first trip with the cheerleaders or are you a seasoned veteran?

[/QUOTE

This will be my second trip with them; I skipped last year because my DH couldn't get off work and I would have had to get a room alone with my at the time 3 year old who likes to unlock doors.

Thanks for the add, I'm excited about this trip, its all girls, none of the guy family members :)

You can add us to the list. :goodvibes Now that our kids are both through with college, we're not tied to academic schedules anymore - whew! Hoping the last week of February will provide low crowds with decent weather. We're not booked yet (waiting for special promotion), but depending on RO discounts, we'll either be at the CR for the first time, or else the lovely POR.
