February 2014 Code watch

Has anyone heard when the discount will be released for February 2014 yet? I made my resort reservation tonight and the wonderful agent at wdw said to watch for discounts soon. Yay

Rumor I heard was after the 15th....towards the end of the month. Disney Visa people will get chance a day or two before general public. And the guess has been Stay/play/dine. And from what I got out of that it means, adults can stay/play/dine at kids prices. I guess that is what happened last year anyway.
And then I also heard RO for Deluxe at 35% which doesn't help me unless I want to think about not staying moderate. I know I don't want Value. :snooty:
Moreso because the dance/cheering girls take over the value resorts.

I'm not an expert, but that is what I've been gathering for information.

The 15th of this month????

The 15th of this month????

The P/s/D and RO pins have to be booked by the 15th.
The end of the month is will turn to a Disney Visa Offer.
Early October it will turn into a General Public Offer. Usually around the end of the first week of October.

Ackk! When are the dance/cheering girls coming?? I need to avoid that if possible...

Well...in my effort to try and score cheap(er) park tickets (since they stopped offering a discount for Princess runners), I have been scoping out the convention and sport events. According to the WWoS event calendar, there are events shown for the week before, but not Princess--YET.

I would have thought that cheer/dance people would show up on the calendar.:confused3

The cheer competition is the 7th and 8th. I dont know if the dancers are the same group or not. Indiana Jones will be closed that weekend for their event. I switched to WL from CBR to avoid them. :goodvibes

Great - thanks. I'm not there until the end of the month, so hoping I'm safe ;)

Thanks for the info. This is my first year running - didn't know they used to offer ticket discounts. I called rundisney to try to get hotel reservations (thinking they'd be cheaper) but they quoted me rack rate. So, looking forward to a GP room only discount popcorn::

I'm I read mid February to into March. I think it was on Mousesavers or all ears. I can't remember where. But I think it was when I search "best time to go to Disney World". They just suggested you stay out of value and you will be fine.

So ya not booking value as I had originally planned just to be safe.

I hope the stay/play/dine comes out. I wish it were FD, but I will be happy with at least some discount. I wanted to make sure I understood the offer correctly. Would the following be correct?

Rack Rate for room - Standard room at Pop Century for 7 nights - $1209.36
8 day ticket at child price (4 people) - $1278
7 nights of QS at child price (4 people @ $15.75) - $441
Total of $2928.36

If I were to upgrade to TS instead of QS, then the following would be correct?
Rack Rate for room - Standard room at Pop Century for 7 nights - $1209.36
8 day ticket at child price (4 people) - $1278
7 nights of TS at child price (3 people @ $34.74(TS adult price - QS adult price + QS kid price); 1 @ $18.88) - $862.33
Total of $3349.69

My understanding is that if you stay value you get the QS plan for child's prices. If you want to upgrade to TS then you have to pay the difference between adult quick service and adult table service. So you still save a little, but not nearly as much as if they allowed you the table service plan at child's prices. To get that you have to stay mod or deluxe. Is this correct?

(ETA This is the math you have here, just making sure that is how it works.) :)

You are correct. Basically it is the same upgrade cost as Free Dining. The difference is instead of the original DP being free, you're paying the child price for it.

Was just on the phone with a CM this afternoon to change from CSR to WL  and asked about potential discounts (since yet again, there was no PIN attached to my name.) He said that there would "at worst be a RO discount coming out for that time of year" and that very likely a pkg offer would be available as well. When I asked about timing, he said before the holidays?!?

That sounds like a lot later that most are thinking here, so maybe he was just giving worst case scenarios.

But wouldn't the other part of the discount be that park tickets be at child too for a Stay/play/dine package? Just curious.

I'm all new to this stuff.
TA in the past wasn't very helpful, but honestly I booked last minute anyway so there probably wasn't a lot of options unlike this one being a "since January" vacation planning.

We can only stay three nights for PHM in February. Any chance of getting a discount or is it likely only to be for longer stays?

If a room only discount comes out, and it it works for your dates, then you would be able to use it. I have never seen a minimum required stay for a room-only discount.

I got a room only discount and we are only staying 3 days for PHM...so it's possible. Last year we also had pin code for free dining for PHM weekend-I don't think there was a minimum then either--we did a two day ticket, hotel and free dining with that. LOVE dining plan!!

New to trying to get a jump on the discounts here as we usually are only able to go over Easter (generally no discounts except one year when we were dusted with pixie dust) and this trip we are headed there over Presidents week. Yes I know the crowds will be large but compared to Easter, I think it will seem slower or just normal to us. So far I have a ticket/room package booked for POFQ and waiting to add dining. I have read in the past that if any deal involving discounted dining comes out when we are going that POFQ rooms are very limited, if offered at all, and that usually people have better luck with POR. We stayed at POR last time and loved it but we wanted to stay at POFQ this time. If I can get through to a CM and POFQ isn't available DH and I have agreed that we don't have a problem switching to POR but I am wondering if it would be easier to go ahead and switch now? Do we have a better chance at snagging a deal if we are already currently staying at that resort opposed to switching? Should I add the dining plan now or wait? Either way we are going to go ahead with the dining plan. Just looking for some advice if anyone has any to spare! Thanks!:worship:
