We were at WDW February 14 - 21, 2009. Just now getting around to writing up the trip. Here's where we ate and what we thought - we were on the basic dining plan - 1 CS, 1 TS, 1 snack for 5 per day - breakfast in room most mornings with cereal brought from home and milk, coffee and fruit bought at POR food court -
Saturday - late lunch (3 pm) at POR food court - salads, pasta, sandwiches - used Counter Service credits - this filled us up plenty - my DH particularly liked it
had such a big, late lunch that we just snacked for dinner - that left us a counter service for our last day's breakfast
Sunday - did Epcot FW in the morning but jumped to WS for lunch (not my original plan) - went to Japan counter service - disappointed - it's not as good as we remember from year's past - ADR for dinner in AK at the Yak and Yeti - DH loved his meal (steak and shrimp) - paid OOP for DD (11) to save a TS credit for our signature meal - she got lettuce wraps and loved them - my two younger DD liked their kid's meals too
Monday - 10 am TS brunch at Cape May Cafe at the BC - good breakfast and character interaction - loved visiting the BC - great timing to walk to International Gateway at Epcot and do WS right when it opened - no lunch this day - had 4:30 ADR for San Angel in Mexico - wish they served more basics - ended up with beef as a main meal again - DH would have preferred a chicken dish, but they would not substitute - good meal anyway - men's restroom in Mexico was closed so waitress said to DH "the closest bathroom is in Norway" - that cracked us up for the rest of the trip!
Tuesday - CS lunch at Backstage near Star Tours - timed it perfectly to sit outside and were able to watch the 11:30 ish Jedi Academy - everyone liked their meal - TS dinner at Boatwright's ended up being just DH and 2 DD because middle DD got sick - those that went enjoyed their meal, although the atosphere was a bore according to DH - glad it worked out that we were staying at POR for dinner that night so that middle child didn't miss anything big
Wednesday - CS lunch in MK - good chicken options at the place across from Peco's Bills (which was closed) - we sat outside using seats that would have been Peco's Bills - good pita with chicken and BLT toppings - ADR for 8:15 pm at Crystal Palace - checked in at 7:45 pm and was told I was too early - checked in at 8:00 pm and weren't called until nearly 9:00 pm - a lot of frustrated people in our same boat - park closed at 10:00 pm and we had Fast Passes to use! Characters were slow, place was loud and hectic - we finally left before seeing Pooh (asked kids which they'd rather do - see Pooh or ride Splash Mtn - they picked Splash!) We won't every go back here -
Thursday - CS lunch in AK at Restuarantaurus - we enjoyed this place a lot -fun atmosphere - this was a rainy day so we sat inside in the diner/jukebox section of the restuarant - lots of fun things to look at and good burgers - ADR at 8:35 pm for Narcoosee's at GF - strolled the grounds on the way, checked in and were seated promptly at a window seat - went outside between salads and main course and had the best view of Wishes with music piped in - one of our magical moments - adults got steak and lobster, kids had steak - desserts were awesome, great service, also saw water flotilla go by - an all-around great night -
Friday - CS lunch at MK Columbia House - had some different options and we like the upstairs window seat overlooking the square - ADR at 5:40 pm at Kona at the Polynesian - not as good as last time we were there, but everyone liked their food very much - another great place for desserts and good service -
Favorites ended up being Yak and Yeti, Narcoosee's and Kona - least favorite was Crystal Palace -
