Hooray :cool1: Final docs just make it seem sooo much closer!!

 Hope you all feel better soon. My kids are just now getting over their coughs and colds. I have been fighting a fever since yesterday. I say better now than on vacation.

What's the Disney Travel On Demand? Do you have Comcast cable? I'd like to check it out, but I'm not sure where to find it.

Thank you for the LOVE:love:   .

We all had the flu shot too and I have to tell ya'... I'll be shovin' airborne down my kids throats at our weekly co-op that started today-half the kids were out with the flu!!! Yuck!! I am hoping that my kids are more protected BECAUSE of the flu shot-but we'll be increasing the vit C daily and doing airborne at thier "school" day!!!

Wendypooh, I got ideas from Mel's pre-trippy too- I went and bought pop up bins from Dollar Tree yesterday!!! I cannot remember -what are the shoe holders for-bathroom stuff???

Dh happy on an LSU high!!!

THIS is crazy- I keep seeing multiple postings. I only press it once and wait for it to process or wahtever.... sorry for that -don't know what i am doing wrong!!

Yes, the shoe organizer is for bathroom stuff to keep it off of the sink/vanity area. We used one on our last 2 trips and we love it!!

OK - I have a question for all of you LSU fans...do any of you go to Orange Beach or Gulf Shores, AL in the summers? That is our favorite beach and everytime we go we see as many LSU people as Bama and Auburn people. DH even noticed that some of the stores sell LSU merchandise. Maybe if some of you go there I'll run into you someday. That would be the 2nd best place to have a Dis meet!

For me it is just taking long to submit a post, so I just be patient and only click once. I have seen lots of double and triple posts all day. Did it a couple of times this morning to

YES we LOVE the beach!! My mom and I stay one night on Orange beach every Sept/Oct and do our Christmas shopping at the Foley outlets. We usually stay at the Holiday Inn Select b/c it is ON the beach and a great price, esp before Ivan and Katrina!!

I have to admit our favorite favorite beach is Destin, but it is so over crowded and expensive now for a long weekend. We have enjoyed Pensacola Beach the past 2 years as a family or just me and the kids. Most of the people I know head that way at least every year!

We used to go to Destin a LOT b/c my uncle had a condo there. We paid minimal cleanup/towel/condo fees and no overnight fees(he spoiled us!!). We used to be able to go for about $500 for a WEEK!! And that included going out to eat a few times. usually we cooked in the room-took advantage of the kitchenette. It was at Sandpiper Cove-it is a little gem among MANY towering resorts. I am not a fan of towering beach resorts. I like the little no more than 3 story ones better.

If you want a wonderful-no kids romantic getaway, try the Beach House in Gulf Shores. The water was BLUE and it was not crowded as most of the properties are residential. There was a condo building going up not far off but the Beach House is a B&B that you would LOVE:lovestruc . We really want to go back eventually but after this WDW trip we are cutting back. We'd really like a home in a neighborhood that we can park a small camper at so we could do weekend trips to camgrounds or even the beach-possibly a future future trip to FW!! Well, that is the frame of mind. We need prayers for finding a home in our price range that my kids won't get run over riding bikes. We live on a thru street and with the kids getting bigger and wanting to spread thier wings-or wheels!!-we feel it is time to move. Finances are not what we wished for this time in our lives, but we cannot complain-HEY!! We are going to WDW in 3 weeks!!! Just looking to keep our current lifestyle and have the icing too!!! After Disney we will have our home on the market, I hope. I'd like to do it sooner. I am afraid to not have a place to live though!!!

Ramblin', tired and it is raining and I wanna head to bed!!:)

howdy, this will be our first trip in February, 9~16th. I see you make it an annual event.

we chose feb. trying to avoid huge crowds and considered moving our trip up one week till we found out all the value resorts were booked!:confused3

is that normal for this time of the year? I read today on Jim Hill's site that MK reached max. capacity a few times over the last week.
cheers

The resorts were pretty full for our 07 trip to, but you couldn't really see it in the parks. I think the Values book up because of the cheerleading competitions. Longest wait we had on both trips was about 20 minutes for Indy cars

we may have talked about this before but I just wanted to let anyone interested know that now you can get your reward card(for your reward points to be put on to) at Downtown Disney guest relations. I just got off the phone a second time (first was a few weeks ago to verify this) to verify it and he said,"yes, you can show them your Disney Visa and valid drivers license(id) and they will issue you a card. Then you call from there to activate and we put on your rewards dollars to be used immediately". I called twice b/c I haven't gotten the rewards card yet as it takes 2-3 weeks to get it in your mailbox.

Anyway, hope this helps someone, it helped me feel better about it! Right now, I'll be at guest realtions to get my reward card, my AP activated, and my P&PP pre-paid tickets, PLUS purchase the DDE!!

I am calling to verify that AGAIN too! I have to have that card!!!

Ok...first off..where can I find a list of these tips? A shoe organizer..like the one you hang over a door? Give me more. This is my first offical "organized" trip. The rest were kinda just "lets get going." I looked at some trip reports but perhaps I overlooked them. I have always entered the parks with a few snacks and ponchos..but that is about it.

As for Gulf Shores or Orange beach..we used to go there alot..then found Destin. But I agree with the other poster..(forgot name..sorry) that Destin has gotten expensive and crowded. Last year we pulled the camper there for a week. The year before that we stayed in Pensacola. I have to admit though..lately I have been checking condos in Orange Beach and Gulf Shores. We may return one day!!!
Until then..we are Disney World Bound...:cheer2:

When are thte cheerleaders there? Are they actually in the parks?

Hey All ~

I AM now documented!!!!!! WHOOOO HOOOOOO  :cool1: :yay: :woohoo: We got our final docs in the mail today!!!!! I just LOVE getting those!!!
:lovestruc

To the OP who asked about Gulf Shores/Orange Beach, yes, we've been many many many times. Usually we just rent a private residence on the beach, I prefer that to the high rises - I like having our "own" place. We haven't been in a long time though, we much prefer going to Disney now. Plus, we are considering buying into DVC this trip. ( Kidani Village) So, going back for extended stays will probably be out. Short trips may be good though.

2cutekidz - the cheerleaders are there in Jan./Feb. and I think maybe at some other point, but they aren't bad at all. ( Unless you are at thier resort.......... LOL) typically, they are at the competitions and not at the park. I think there are 2 while we are there, just before and right as were leaving. I doubt you'll even notice them - again, unless you are at the same resorts. They typically stay at the allstars or cbr.

My documents are in as well. My TA at AAA is sending them to us!!

We go to Orange Beach every summer. We have stayed in the Gulf Shores/Orange Beach area since 1984. We love it. We have stayed in many places. Lately we have stayed in Summerchase. It is a high rise but it is by itself (other places around it were destoyed by Ivan). We have a bunch of us that go there and everyone gets a condo and we enjoy the beach and the water in late May, early June has been great the last two years. The grocery store is close by and so are the restaurants. Hope this info helps.

Can't wait to get to WDW and have some fun!!
