Triplfigs- I am SOOOOO happy Rees is home and you all can celebrate Thanksgiving at home! I am sorry he is in a wheelchair for now, but that could be a potential for some fun in Disney, should he still be in it!! Always look at the BRIGHT side of bummer details!

Thanks you all for rooting for us- it's always is great when you get support and praise when you go through something like Rees IS and Ashton WENT through. I am hoping for brighter days for Rees and that they can be celebrating all is well one day-that hospital stays can be in the past.

Looking forward to meeting up with y'all on 2/2! Gosh, I am hardly going to be able to focus on school in January! It's gonna be rough! And I am teaching a class-ugghhh! The DD's did math today and yesterday and we read books about indians and plymouth rock-and today we are cooking. We are only "doing" school until December 7, then we start back up on Jan 7-so the DD's are thrilled! Then we do school for 3 weeks or so , then DISNEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We just got finished watching "Meet the Robinsons" (one of thier best) and that song, "Little Wonders" by Rob Thomas - I love that song. I am adopting it for my life right now!!

The name of our homeschool is HIMH Academy-Here in My Heart-from Tarzan. That came out when Ash was beginning treatment and she'd sing it. We all voted that THAT was our homeschool name and song. We love the song by Phil Collins!

Anyway- happy 71 days out!!!

Hi everyone! Have you actually realized that the 2/2 meet is scheduled at the same time as Wishes? I have no idea whether they dim the lights in Adventureland as well, but it might be getting a bit difficult to see everyone??? If you all know and are happy with that, sorry for confusing you. I just had the feeling that everyone was just thinking about the s tart of the P&PP!

That's really nice work there triplefigs!
In my not so crafty way, I made a lime green Mickeyhead out of a posterboard and traced "laissez les bon temps rouler" and "Mardi Gras 2008" on it. I plan to decorate our window at Pop with that and some purple, green, and gold lights possibly in a pine garland left over from Christmas.
I wish I knew how to manipulate images on the computer to do some of the great work I always see out there in DIS world. Maybe I should just leave it to the "professionals."

Yes, Rees came home late Sunday night!!! After 3 weeks in the hospital (18 days), it is wonderful to be back. And that Disney trip is just what we need in February. I was worried about the 2/2 P&PP crowds with Rees (he's in a wheelchair for a while), so I called and Disney changed our tickets to 2/5 for the Tues party with no problems. We will be still going to the MK on Saturday, so we'll make the mini meet.

I wish all of you a blessed Thanksgiving! Oh, and I design (well, haven't in a while) t-shirts on the DISigns board. I made this one for someone, and I know all my Cajun friends will love it! BTW, hope it won't be a problem for a University of Alabama alum to join the LSU crowd at the mini meet!

Thanks flossbolna- I am okay, but if we want to make it at 6:30 that is cool with me. I think the DO have the fireworks on those nights, just earlier. i am in denial it is coming so soon- I haven't adjust my schedule since i first made it a few months back. I ahve to get on the ball!

the only thing I am concerned about looking so forward to this trip is that I know it will fly by once we are there when i want it to be in slo-mo!!!!!!!

Hello, I have a code question! I found the Visa code and asked the CM when I booked what the difference in rate would be between the rate that I currently have (with the upgraded park hopper for free) and the Visa code. I gave her the visa code and she didn't see a reduction in price, only that with the Visa code you were able to get the free park hopper upgrade earlier than everyone else.

Is that true? Is there another discount with the Visa card (because I will apply for the card and use it if there is!)? Thank you!

I agree Denise, I don't remember them doing it in Feb. last year either!! Either way - we can meet earlier or keep it the same........... I think we said between 6:30 - 7:00 anyway didn't we??? We'll figure it out!!

Well, you all would know better than I! I had read on TGM that "Wishes" gets bumped to 6:45, right before park closing, on P&PP nights. But I personally have no idea. Like I said, I am okay with meeting earlier.

I also don't mind an earlier mini-meet. We'll be coming from Animal Kingdom that day, but as long as they let me in ahead of time, I'll be there.

We made all our reservations for the cruise the other night and are getting really excited that things are close!

I've been during President's Week once, and twice the week after P-week. Once, the week after P-week was *also* Mardi Gras week. Once, it was not.

The Mardi Gras folks did not seem to impact the crowds significantly---NOTHING like President's. True, you'll see a good share of purple, green, and gold, so you'll notice folks, but it doesn't "feel" much more crowded than it did when the MG folks were not there.

Enjoy the party atmosphere of the Mardi Gras refugees! It's fun.

Yes, Mardi Gras is Tuesday, Feb 5 this year (2008) so quite a few of us will be arriving the weekend before - probably the 2nd. I wouldn't worry though. I've heard that our arrival doesn't impact crowds very much.
